Chapter Eleven - The plan starts to come together

Y/N's P.O.V

I opened my eyes slowly, my eyelids blinking away the sleep that was still in them as I came to gradually. My lips parted into a yawn, my eyes squeezing shut again as I stretched out. I sighed and looked to my side, a small smile tugging onto my lips as Tom was still fast asleep with his lips slightly parted, and his arm securely wrapped around my waist. I leant back and pecked his lips before gently moving out of his grip and climbing out of bed. I stood up and grabbed Tom's dress shirt that we both loved me wearing. Just for different reasons. I yawned again, my body obviously still processing the fact that I was now awake as I put the shirt on over my underwear, and buttoned it up.

"Holy shit." I turned around and smiled, my heart fluttering in my chest as Tom was now awake, and staring at me. He smirked and bit his lip, my boyfriend's incredibly strong biceps raising and resting behind his head to prop it up as his eyes skimmed up hungrily and down my body.

"I will never get tired of seeing you like that, darling." He smiled and shook his head as he sat up and moved to the end of the bed.

"That's good to know." I teased with a chuckle. I squealed as he suddenly took my hips, making me stand in between his legs as he looked up at me.

"Are you okay?" I giggled, my heart starting to thump more harshly with how touchy he was being this morning as I returned the gaze with slightly wide eyes.

"Why wouldn't I be?" he asked with a shrug.

"No reason, it's just that you're being very frisky this morning." I chuckled. He returned it before kissing my stomach through his shirt, his eyes never leaving me as they looked up at me through his eyelashes.

"No. I just love you." He shrugged. I smiled and bit my lip, Tom still somehow making my heart flutter even after a year and a half together as I leant down to kiss him. He returned it, his lips smiling against mine as he did. Suddenly, he used his grip on my waist to pull me down, making me squeal as my back collided with our mattress, and he rolled on top of me.

"Tommy!" I laughed and shook my head, my boyfriend teasingly pinning my hands above my head and intertwining our fingers as he started to kiss my neck.

"What, love? I thought that you liked me being on top of you." He hummed teasingly into my skin.

"Normally, I do, but I'm hungry. Get off of me, come on, I'm starving." I smirked and shook my head.

"So am I, darling, but my hunger isn't for food-."

"Oh my god!" I exclaimed, making him laugh as he finally rolled off of me and let me sit up.

"Dirty boy." I scolded teasingly, making him smirk and wink at me as I stood up and headed out of our bedroom. I smirked and bit my lip at the interaction, my heart loving how playful and flirty Tom often was when he woke up in the morning.

"You want a coffee, sweetheart?" Tom called from the kitchen as I went to the front door and picked up the post.

"Please." I replied as I sifted through the envelopes. My eyebrows furrowed as there was a golden envelope in the pile, making it stand out from the other white envelopes of bills and fuck knows what else. I walked back through to the kitchen and sat down at the breakfast bar, putting the rest of the post next to where I was sitting as I opened the golden envelope.

"What's that?" Tom asked as he leant against the island and sipped his coffee.

"I'm about to find out." I muttered as I opened it. The envelope opened to reveal a piece of white card with beautiful gold and swirly lettering on it, my lips curling onto a smile as I read it.

"Aww." I chuckled and bit my lip

"What is it, sweetheart?" he asked.

"Haley and Harrison's two-year-wedding anniversary is coming up, and they're having a party at the manor hotel where they had the rehearsal dinner and the wedding." I stated. Tom's eyes widened.

"Huh. That's a lovely idea." He nodded as he put his coffee down.

"Isn't it?" I chuckled.

"When is it?" he asked as he cocked his head to the side slightly. I bit my lip and skimmed my eyes over the writing.

"Erm...the twenty-third." I nodded.

"Isn't that our anniversary, love? Two years since we started dating?" Tom asked. My eyebrows furrowed as I thought about it.

"Oh. Yeah, it is. How cool is that?" I smiled.

"Yeah, it's pretty cool." Tom chuckled in agreement, making my smile widen as I read the rest of the invitation.

"I'll be back in a minute, I need to make a phone call." Tom spoke as he started to leave the kitchen. I looked up at him.

"At ten in the morning?" I scoffed. Tom paused, my boyfriend's eyes widening slightly as he looked back at me.

"Y-yeah, erm, I was meant to call the Russo Brothers yesterday about their latest movie, but I forgot, so I need to do it earlier rather than later." He chuckled. My eyebrows furrowed at his explanation. It was extremely unlikely for Tom to forget to call directors that he was in talks with over new movies and potential roles, but I decided to let it be as my mind failed to come up with another explanation for what he was doing.

"Okay." I shrugged. He nodded and gave me a small smile before leaving the kitchen.

Tom's P.O.V

"You want a coffee, sweetheart?" Tom called from the kitchen, his hands grabbing two mugs as Y/N went to go and get today's post.

"Please." She replied, making the boy nod to himself as he filled the two mugs with coffee before putting one down at the breakfast bar, in front of the stool that Y/N always sat at for her breakfast. After a moment, Y/N walked back through to the kitchen and sat down at the breakfast bar, her eyes on the post as she opened what looked to be a golden envelope.

"What's that?" Tom asked as he leant against the island and sipped his coffee.

"I'm about to find out." She muttered as she opened it. Her lips curled into a soft smile, the sight being one that Tom would never get tired of as she read the contents of the envelope.

"Aww." She chuckled and bit her lip

"What is it, sweetheart?" he asked.

"Haley and Harrison's two-year-wedding anniversary is coming up, and they're having a party at the manor hotel where they had the rehearsal dinner and the wedding." Y/N stated. Tom's eyes widened, his heart leaping in his chest as the cogs in his brain started to turn. After all, he was ready to propose to Y/N, he had the ring, and so what would be more romantic than proposing in the very place that they met?

"Huh. That's a lovely idea." He nodded as he put his coffee down.

"Isn't it?" She chuckled.

"When is it?" he asked as he cocked his head to the side slightly. She bit her lip and skimmed her eyes over the writing.

"Erm...the twenty-third." She nodded.

"Isn't that our anniversary, love? Two years since we started dating?" Tom asked, though of course he knew that it was. And so if Y/N also recognised that, Tom now had where and when he'd finally pop the question to the love of his life.

"Oh. Yeah, it is. How cool is that?" She smiled.

"Yeah, it's pretty cool." Tom chuckled in agreement before standing up straight.

"I'll be back in a minute, I need to make a phone call." Tom spoke as he started to leave the kitchen. Y/N looked up at him.

"At ten in the morning?" She scoffed. Tom paused, his eyes widening slightly as he looked back at her. He had to think of an excuse, it would look weird as fuck if Y/N knew that he was going to call Harrison right after they'd gotten an invitation back to the place where they'd met, on their two-year-anniversary. No. Tom couldn't say anything.

"Y-yeah, erm, I was meant to call the Russo Brothers yesterday about their latest movie, but I forgot, so I need to do it earlier rather than later." He chuckled. Y/N's eyebrows furrowed at his explanation, his girlfriend obviously doubting his story.

"Okay." She shrugged, making Tom take an internal sigh of relief as she seemingly decided to let it go anyway. He nodded and gave her a small smile before leaving the kitchen. He looked over his shoulder to make sure that Y/N's attention wasn't on him. Once he saw that it wasn't, he picked up his pace, Tom rushing into the bedroom and shutting the door before grabbing his phone. He clicked on Harrison's number and put the phone to his ear.

"Hey, mate." Harrison picked up.

"You're a fucking genius, I hope that you know that!" Tom laughed.

"I mean, thanks, I know, but why am I a genius now?" Harrison teased, though his voice was dripping with confusion.

"We've just received the invitation to yours and Haley's anniversary party. Not only are you having it where Y/N and I met, but you're also having it on the two year anniversary of when we started dating." Tom spoke. Harrison paused.

"Okay...?" he scoffed. Tom groaned and squeezed his eyes shut as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Mate, I take back what I said about you being a genius-think about it, Harrison. What do I want to ask Y/N, what am I currently planning?" he hinted. There was another pause.

"Oh my god, you want to propose at the party!" Harrison finally caught on.

"He's got it!" Tom laughed and nodded.

"Mate, that would be so awesome! I say go for it!" Harrison exclaimed.

"So, you're okay with that? You're okay with me proposing to her at your party?" Tom checked. After all, whilst it would be insanely romantic for Tom to do this, he didn't want to take the attention away from Harrison and Haley on their anniversary.

"Of course! You know that Haley and I love you guys, so I say do it." Harrison replied. Tom breathed a sigh of relief, his heart jumping in his chest at the idea of finally proposing to Y/N. And doing it in such a special and meaningful way.

"Thank you so much, mate." He nodded to himself.

"Okay, man. See you later." Harrison spoke.

"See you." Tom replied before hanging up. He breathed a sigh of relief, his lips pulling themselves up into a small smile as his heart and mind raced. So, that was it. There was no going back now, Tom officially had a date and a place to ask Y/N to marry him. And whilst that was admittedly terrifying, Tom also couldn't wait. He smiled and bit his lip, his head nodding to himself as he opened the door. His eyes widened.

"Jesus, fuck!" he exclaimed, the boy nearly colliding with Y/N as his girlfriend stood there. Her eyes widened slightly, her lips curling into an unsure smile at his reaction.

"What the fuck, Tommy? Why are you so jumpy?" She scoffed. He took a deep breath and shook his head, his eyes fluttering shut as he put his hand against his chest.

"Sorry, darling, I just didn't expect you to be right outside of the door, I nearly knocked you down." He puffed out.

"Well, we both know that there would be worse outcomes than us on the floor, and you on top of me." She flirted, making Tom smirk and bite his lip as she curled her arms around his waist. "Very true." He nodded as his lips flicked over her face. She bit her lip at him.

"So, how were the Russo Brothers?" she chuckled. His eyebrows furrowed.

"What-." His eyes widened, his lips parting and his heart jumping as he remembered that he'd told Y/N that he was calling the Russo Brothers. Fuck.

"Y-yeah, they were good, not too bad, asked after you too." He chuckled and shrugged, though Y/N's furrowed eyebrows told Tom that she'd noticed his slip-up too. Not that he was surprised, it had been that fucking obvious.

"If you're cheating on me, just tell me." Y/N teased with a chuckle as she rested her chin against his chest so that she could look up at him. He returned it and bit his lip, his eyes flicking over the beautiful face that he couldn't wait to grow old looking at as he curled his arms around her waist and pulled her further into his body.

"Course I'm not cheating. I love you too much for that. Just trust me, okay?" he asked. Y/N sighed and studied him one last time before seemingly giving in.

"Okay. I trust you." She nodded.

"Good, thank you." He chuckled, making her smile as he leant down and kissed her.
