ChapterFourteen-Homecoming Plot

November 13th, 2006

 It's now November. UTurn are getting to release two singles: Thinking of You for North America, and Turn Around for Eastern Europe. They should be able to do more promotions in December since they'll be on break from school.

 UTurn had just got out of school when Alyson received a call on her cell-phone. After a few minutes, she hung up as she got in Andrew's car. He asked, "Who was that?"

 Alyson replied, "That was the principal of Beacon Hill High."

 Andrew scoffed, "If he wants me to drop the lawsuit, then he should expect an even worse lawsuit."

 Alyson then gave a laugh as she said, "You never really grew out of threatening people who are much older than you."

 Andrew said smugly, "Like I said, my parents are lawyers. I'm a natural."

 "And yet, you'd rather be a Broadway popstar."

 "I wanna break tradition and do my own thing."

 "Anyway, he wants me to gather all the UTurners for a meeting with him. Like, now."

 "Why?"

 "I have no idea, but I'm texting everyone."

 So Alyson texted all the UTurn members. Before they knew it, they were in the Beacon Hill High's principal's office. He was Mr. Crawford. Alyson asked, "So, why are we here?"

 Andrew added sternly, "And you better give a legitimate answer."

 Mr. Crawford explained, "This Friday, this school is having a homecoming party. Last year, we wanted you to perform for us, but we ended up hiring Libby's girl-group instead. But since you're now back in Boston, we'd like you to perform."

 The founding members, Alyson, Andrew, Justin, and Bailey, talked amongst themselves. Then they spoke to the other members. After a few minutes, they all faced Mr. Crawford. Alyson asked, "First question: Did you contact our manager?"

 Mr. Crawford replied, "I did, and he's agreed to this."

 "Okay, we'll perform, but on this condition: You pay us $1,000,000. Per hour. We're very expensive now."

 With that, Mr. Crawford exclaimed, "We don't have that kind of money! We'll pay you $1000."

 Andrew said, "$1,000,000."

 Mr. Crawford said "$10,000."

 "$500,000 per hour, and you give us extra security, and we want the lockers as our own, private dressing room. Or do you want another lawsuit from me?"

 Mr. Crawford then pleaded, "Please, Andrew! No more lawsuits! We'll do as you say!"

 Andrew gave an arrogant grin.

 It's now Saturday, and it's the homecoming party. After UTurn met with Mr. Crawford, they met with their manager to discuss dance rehearsals and a set-list for the homecoming performance. They were to premiere new music from their up-coming second album, plus perform a few songs from their debut album.

 As the members were getting ready for their performance, Trevor was feeling nervous. This was the first time he sang in front of an audience. The members noticed this, so they gathered around him. Riley told him, "Trev, you're gonna do great."

 Andrew added, "Yeah. You're a great singer and dancer. I'm sure you'll be hit with everyone."

 "Maybe, since this school is like the Gossip Girl books."

 Amanda scoffed, "Yeah, everyone here are stuck-up pricks."

 The former BHHS students glared at Amanda. Then she said, "Okay, not everyone. Most of you guys are nice, while Alyson's tolerable."

 Alyson gave Amanda a dirty look. Justin said, "Aside from what's said about our school, I think we'll be a hit with them once and for all."

 Soon, it was time to perform. First, they sang Turn It Up. The students danced to the song. Some of the girls (presumably freshmen and sophomores) screamed for Andrew and Justin. Then they sang a song from their mini-album (Back Again), No, You Don't. This was Trevor's debut solo. It had Ethan's vocal originally, and it was going to be on the band's debut album.

 As Trevor was singing his first solo, a guy stopped dancing and watched. It was Ethan. At the end of October, Ethan's parents released him from juvenile detention. He was allowed back to Beacon Hill High, but he had to have a parole officer taking him to his classes. He was also given a restraining order from UTurn, and to top it off, Andrew is suing him for damages and defamation. Of course, this is all covered up by UTurn's PR team.

 As Ethan was listening to Trevor sing, his blood boiled. He could tell that Trevor was a better singer than he was. Ethan was never much of a singer and dancer. He had a decent voice, and his dancing was, at best, mediocre.

 He knew Andrew was professionally trained in the performing arts, so it made sense that Andrew would be the male lead singer, and the main dancer. He was surprised that Justin was a pretty good singer and dancer. Justin, in the past, dabbled with the performing arts when he lived in England. But he was really more interested in playing sports than becoming a popstar.

 Now? Trevor is quickly becoming favorite, and this is his performance. When the song ended, the students cheered for Trevor's surprising, yet amazing, performance. After a few minutes of silence, UTurn performed another song from their mini-album, Fallen. It was also a B-side from their Eastern European single, Time Is Gone.

 Ethan then walked up to Libby, who was dancing with her boyfriend Greg. He hastily said to Greg, "Greg, I need to dance with Libby."

 Ethan pushed the puzzled Greg to the floor, and grabbed Libby's arm. He dragged her to hallways, outside the gymnasium. She asked him angrily, "What the f*ck are you doing?"

 Ethan said sternly, "You need to join UTurn."

 "What?! Be in the same band as those bitches who tried to take my Queen Bee position? And besides, they don't need 9 people."

 "Then you need to replace one of the girls."

 "And how am I gonna replace one of the girls? Alyson will never let go of her precious band."

 "Of course she won't, but one of the other girls just might."

 "And how are you gonna get me in UTurn?"

 Ethan gave an evil smile.
