My eyes met Xavier’s and they became brighter. The moonlight shined on his body and my wolf went crazy. I got out of my car and looked over at Xavier. I can hear his heart beating rapidly and then it gets faster. I turned around and walked towards Sutton’s house. I haven’t been over here in a few weeks. Sutton has also been my best friend since 5th grade. Believe it or not, Sutton has nine lives. She only died once and that was from proving herself to me and Callum. She has cat like reflexes. Also she can climb things very well. So she is called an Onza. It was passed down through generations so everyone in her family is like a cat. I climb up the tree in an instant and hide. I see Xavier look back looking for me. He stares into the tree. I gaze into his eyes and my eyes start to turn red again. Someone pulls me back into their window and I fall into the floor. “What the hell are you doing in my tree?!” Sutton shouted gently. “Um… I’m…. I….” I stuttered trying to figure out what to say. “Spill it douche bag.” “I found my mate and my mate lives across the street from you.” I said nervously. She looks at me awkwardly. “XAVIER REED IS YOUR MATE?! BUT HE IS A GUY! YOU ARE STRAIGHTER THEN THIS PENICL!” She says and throws the pencil at me. “I know…. I don’t even like guys… But something about him makes my wolf want to come out and mate with him.” “Ryder….” She says and walks over and kneels next to me. “If that is what the spirts want, then you can’t change that. You can’t avoid what your wolf wants.” “I don’t want it. But when I seen him my stomach literally went upside down and I was ready to get into his pants. My eyes turned bright red.” “You have to confront him.” “Yeah, I’ll do that. I will just go up to him and say my wolf wants you, be mine.” I said sarcastically. She smacks me in the face. “RYDER! I am not saying that. I am saying that you need to get close to him. Be his friend at first. Get to know him before asking him out.” “I can’t ask him out when I am straight.” “If your eyes get red by looking at him and that is your mate, then you are not straight. You are only gay for him. I guess.” She says and hugs me. “I slept with the whole cheerleading squad….. How is this possible?” I asked. “Because anything is possible in this town.” She says. I roll my eyes. “Now leave so I can go to bed.” She says and pushes me to the window. “See you tomorrow.” I laughed and climbed out the window. I walk towards my car and see Xavier sitting at his window reading. He looks so concentrated. His skin glows along the moonlight. I get into my car and see Xavier look down from his window. I can feel his heart beating a little faster. My eyes start to glow. I guess the wolf wants what it wants. I push my car into gear and drive off. My eyes finally start to go back to its original color. On the way back home I couldn’t stop thinking about Xavier. All I thought about was him and only him. I got out of the car and I can feel someone watching me from the behind. I turn around and see a guy in an Escalade. I wonder what he is doing. I decided to walk towards his car. Soon as I got closer and closer he drove off. I was able to catch his license plate. “Look up license plate “6b8I4T”. I texted Callum. I climb up to my window and my mom is standing at my bed looking at my window. My eyes widen. “You could have used the front door. Your curfew is not up yet.” She says and walks out of my room. “SORRY!” I shouted through my door. I walked into my bathroom and brushed my teeth. I stripped down just wearing my boxers and went to sleep.
