Chapter 7
Dark didn't waste a second getting ready. He dumped Purple's corpse onto a table, and started up the machines.
Blood samples... blood samples... he thought as he took a swab of dried blood from the open cut on Purple's body. He put it into a scanner, and tried to recode it to be able to function again. A few tries, and he had a small droplet of red blood cells in plasma. Putting it into a syringe, he took it over to the mini cloning machine he had, set the device to liquid, and started it up.
Meanwhile, the scanner was downloading Purple's code into a computer. Hastily scrolling through, Dark finished some of the equations he'd been missing a few variables in. A few more notes and scribbles, solving equations, running code, and Dark had all of the timing and data he needed to know.
He logged everything into the computer, and after getting Purple's body into position he hit the ENTER button.
A warping pulse ran out of one end of the machine, immersing Purple's carcass in a warping cocoon of energy. Sparks flew around, and Dark hurriedly typed in new sets of code to correspond with the situation. Finishing up, he let the machine run by itself as he went to check the cloning machine, which was now filled to the brim with 2 liters of blood. He'd figured Purple would need a lot of help staying alive for a while, and didn't want to take any chances.
As Dark was cleaning everything up, the machine behind him whirred to a stop, and a light above it turned a satisfying green as all the computers closed down with a small beep.
A cough sounded from the previously dead Purple. Sighing with both tension and relief, Dark walked over and nudged Purple on his shoulder.
"W- wai- wh- huh?" Purple managed to sputter out. He tried to sit up, only to have his arms fail him and send him falling back down.
"My head's awfully light- wait. DARK???" He exclaimed, energy already coming back despite still being deathly pale.
Dark was starting up the computers again, and running scans and checks to see what sort of help Purple needed. The only thing he muttered back was "necromancy" as he retrieved an honestly scary ton of medical tools.
"What the fuck do you need that for- wait- oh," Purple said, realizing what "necromancy" meant. "You were able to revive me FROM THE DEAD?"
"Shut your mouth and save your energy," Dark said.
"Okay," Purple said. "But not until you tell me how you did that."
Dark sighed like he was dealing with a little kid under the age of 5, but wasn't allowed to punch it.
"Long story short, I reverted your age to back when you were alive," Dark said. "Right before- well. This way you can retain all of your living memory, but if my hypothesis is correct you're going to get some phantom senses for a while- like having the feeling of a deep hole in your side."
Purple yawned.
"Well, if you're going to be like that I'm not telling you anything else," Dark said crossly.
Purple didn't respond, because he passed out- both from sleepiness and not having enough blood.
Dark sighed again as ended up doing annoyingly gruesome medical processes before he went to sleep, too.
