Chapter 3

A flash of light- swirled in red, blue, yellow, and green- encompassed Dark's vision, temporarily blinding him. When he was able to see again, he was unable to control himself, only being able to see through what used to be his own eyes.

And then, a few minutes later, he dropped down to his knees, gasping for breath and his own consciousness.

Fourth time this week, he thought bitterly to himself. Wild Card's possessions were; however frightening; becoming something of a nuisance. If he wanted to carry out his plans properly he was going to either find a restraint or get rid of Wild Card.

The first was considerably easier than the second was, especially since Dark knew how he could pull it off.

This was why he was at the Foliage Dungeon, ready to talk to one of his oldest friends- and get his help, despite all the things he'd done.

Dark didn't even have to do the obbies. A fancy teleporter was all he needed, and he found himself climbing up the beanstalk in no time. He didn't even think before poking his head up out through the hole-

Only to get smacked in the face, almost tumbling back and starting over.

"Sorry. Had to do that," Foliage said. "I heard what happened, and I know you well enough to see that something must have possessed you to do that."

"Well, not just something," Dark replied bitterly. "Wild Card, out of anything."

"Dang, mate," Foliage responded casually. "Must suck- wait, WILD CARD?"

Dark clambered onto the top of the hill and rubbed his temples. "Did you not hear me?"

Foliage sputtered a little and crossed their arms. "I DID, but that was one hell of a shock. What on my dungeons did you do to make him mad like that?"

Dark fell silent at that. Foliage recognized the saddening look on his friend's face, and pulled Dark in for a hug.

A hug was not something that he was expecting from what he thought would be one of his biggest enemies. Turns out he was wrong.

After Foliage let go, they sat down on a rock and looked at Dark straight in the eye. "You wouldn't come here without a reason. What do you need?"

Dark sighed. "As far as I know, I'm completely out of control with what I do when Wild Card is possessing me. I need someone to be a restraint when I go back to the Server."

"Why do you need to go back to the Server?" Foliage questioned.

"Never mind that for now. Are you still able to do your vine summoning thing or whatever?" Dark said, changing the topic to what he wanted.

"Sure," Foliage replied smugly, flicking a wrist and making the beanstalk shoot up into the sky. Barely a finger bent and they were able to reduce the beanstalk down to its original size. Foliage smirked at Dark, playful attitude still lingering despite what he'd been through.

"Still a show off," Dark grumbled. "But that'll work."

"You're just going to trust me like that?" Foliage said with a scoff.

"Oh, I don't trust you," Dark replied. "But neither of us want to know what will happen if I go ballistic at the Server. And even if I don't trust you as a person I can trust the idea that you'll do it either way."

"Sounds like a smartass quote that you'd say," Foliage said, standing up with a childish grin enveloping their face. "You little knucklehead, I'm in. I'm fucking in for whatever you're going to pull off."

"I thought you'd say that," Dark replied. "By the way- would you mind staying with me for a while? I'm planning on going to the Server tomorrow and I don't want to climb a plant again."

"Sure. But hey, where do you live? If not in the Server, I mean," Foliage asked.

"Wild Card calls it the Dimension of Darkness, so I guess we're sticking with that," Dark said, getting the teleportation device ready. "Hold on to my arm."

"Last thing," Foliage said hurriedly. "What exactly are you planning to do?"

Dark stopped fiddling with the teleportation device for a second.

     "Necromancy," he responded.

"I'm going to bring Purple back from the dead. It's my fault he died and it's going to be my actions that bring him back, even if I die trying."

Without waiting for a response from a very shocked Foliage, he pressed a button on the teleportation device and the two of them were whisked away in a blend of colors.
