Part 2: Chapter 6
Peppy was thinking of Branch. He seems well built and able to be a army leader. If he where to serve me than maybe I let him marry Poppy. He wrote Branch on his list and put him under army command.
Poppy woke and sat up. Sleep was still among her trying to drag her back. She shook her head trying to knock it away. She heard a soft snore come from Guy Diamond. The pink troll tried to suppress her laugh. He was asleep on a chair. Poppy had become comfortable to Guy Diamond watching. She got up wanting to see which troll her father had listed for the army. She hoped that the survivalist was not on it. The reached the library and her father was leaning on the desk asleep. She looked over him and grabbed the list. A pool of drool had gather on it. She cringed a bit at the sight, but as she scanned it she saw Branch up at top.
Her heart stopped in her chest and her blood turned to ice. Peppy groggily lifted his head. He looked directly at Poppy, but she could tell he wasn't fully present. "You can't send him out." Poppy whined. "Hmm... why not, you can marry him if he does." "You can't just send a royal out there in the battle field." Poppy argued. He looked at her confusion in his gaze. "What do you mean?"
"He is royal. He is related to Trunk a king who worked with your Great-great-great-great Grandpa."
"Oh" He realized he made a mistake and he couldn't fix it. He already sent Cooper out to sent the message. Poppy ran up to her room.
Poppy been in her room all day with Guy Diamond. He was reading a book about fantasy stuff. Who knew he read. Poppy thought surprised. There was a knock on her door and Poppy was about to get it when Guy Diamond raised a hand to halt her. He got up and opened the door. When he opened it Chenille was in the doorway and her twin no where in sight. She enter.
"Where's your sister?" Poppy asked.
"Oh we cut out hair for a bit." Chenille said, "But if we interlock our hair together it connects."
Chenille waked over to Poppy and sat on her bed. "So you have any news?" Chenille asked. Guy Diamond was back at his seat and was staring at Chenille body. "Yes, I do! I am going to be having a kid." Chenille let out a gasp. "Who's? Guy Diamond, Branch's" She exaggerated a bit when she said the blue troll's name. "Yes it is Branch's." Poppy smiled a bit at the thought of Branch. Poppy looked over Chenille's shoulder and notice that there was twinkle of an emotion Poppy didn't understand in Guy Diamond's eyes. It was the same look Branch gave Poppy.
After a while Chenille declared she had to go home. She was about to go when Guy Diamond stopped her. "Can I walk you home?" Guy Diamond asked. There was hint of concern in Chenille eyes. She knew Guy Diamond loved her and she felt the same, but he needed to stay with Poppy. "Don't you need to stay here." She countered. "She can manage in her own, can't you Poppy." "I can!" Poppy yelled back. Guy Diamond gave Chenille a wink. "Ok, I guess you goofball can take me home." "Meet me tomorrow by the willow tree." Poppy called, "I need to talk to you then." Chenille acknowledged she heard and walked away with Guy Diamond holding her hand.
The sun was setting and everyone was getting ready for bed. Poppy was about to sleep, but Guy Diamond hadn't returned yet. Hopefully he didn't get into trouble, unless... Poppy didn't want to think about what Guy Diamond and Chenille might be doing. She let sleep come and weight her eyelids down.
"I've played with the old mans strings, but Poppy got to him." Silvertalon stated. A troll was sitting on a throne and was half hidden by the shadows. Silvertalon left Creek, that lame excuse of a troll and came to this young, but powerful troll. "I thought we hide Branch's truth." "It couldn't be hidden forever the truth would have came out." The troll replied. Her smile glistened in the darkness that shrouded her. "We will just have to play them a visit."
