Taking a long drag of my cigarette I stretched a little more and pushed my head back on my lazy chair looking towards the moon shining brightly from the balcony of my room. It was surrounded by so many stars and the moon looked beautiful but then there were always the dark clouds trying to absorb the moon, trying to cover it, trying to not let it be.

Well that's nature. Not in our control but protecting my moon is!!! And I will hell protect it from every evil eye.

No...I am not in love with her. I don't have those emotions that I felt once for Camellia but... there's definitely a strong emotion that pulls me towards her. Her innocence, her caring nature, her pride to always stand up for what she thinks is right, her guts to even fight me and to speak up fearlessly for what is right makes her unique.

I feel a sense of protectiveness towards her.

Yes it's partially because I do feel a strong sense of physical attraction towards her. She helplessly draws my attention. Her smile, her hair, the way she bites onto the nail of her index finger whenever she's in confusion, the way her eyes widen and grow to the size of tennis balls when I approach her makes me want to tease her even more but the moment I know there's something or let's say 'someone' who wants to dominate her, boss her, try to take control of her like she's not a human being and a fucking materialistic thing, it boils my blood.

The reason when Jack told me that they got information from one of our men was that they got information about Anika's ex-husband. I was alert!!! I thought he had left this country for good but the bastard was planning something behind her back. And I was crystal clear that he was planning something huge when one of my men shared his pictures with Camellia. I knew it was time to roll my sleeves on because although I didn't know much about Meet, I knew what Camellia was!!!

And then those messages which the fucker sent to Anamika's personal number that night when she stayed the first time in this house.

When I noticed those messages on her phone, my blood boiled. For a moment I thought what if she's really cheating on me but then I noticed he tried to message her for the first time tonight. And then seeing the way she had grabbed Roshni in her arms as they had cuddled like two pieces of a heart in a warm cozy quilt, so protectively ensured me that Anamika can never be the woman who can double cross me.

The woman who would work for a salary, was fine to get married secretly to be the mother of my child, keep her identity secret when could very easily profit and be a overnight celebrity by announcing herself as my wife and to add on was even ready to sign a pre-nuptual agreement which clearly says she gets nothing in my property if we seperate made me smile confidently as I knew, this woman can be rude, arrogant, hell bent, annoying but can never be a cheater.

Which means I had to deal this issue myself without her knowledge.

So the first thing I did dial a confidant who could help me with more details about Anamika's ex. I knew I could reach Simi or Kevin but the fact that they could reveal it to Anamika as they have grown quite close was not a good idea. I needed to speak to someone who could help me with his details and also not open his mouth.

What better than someone like Arthur. And that's when I got to know something that literally shook me from within.

No!!! This...this cannot be true...I mean Anamika never to-' but Arthur interrupted saying

'She didn't because it's a very dark chapter of her life Mr.Nayak!!! It is extremely painful but it is the truth!!! She was been assaulted by that animal!!! She was in a shock for a couple of days...but when she realised that can't endure more, she started looking up for an opportunity and then thankfully God helped her.' The information was too much for me. I had never imagined behind that cute bubbly face, there was so much pain and torture. I already thought she loved him.

'Oh my God!!! You mean...she never...I mean I always thought that she loved him and he cheated on her!!!'

When Arthur spoke up' No Mr.Nayak!!! That rascal didn't let Anamika fall in love with him...he showed his true colors very early...his wife and he tortured, starved and even hurt Anamika mentally and physically but he crossed all his limits when he got Anamika pregnant without her consent.'

I fisted a punch into the nearby wall trying to control my anger. I wanted to rip that bastard into pieces of flesh and feed them to vultures.

'That son of a...and now he has the audacity to message her all of that!!! I'm gonna find that bastard and-' I was ready to go find that rascal but Arthur stopped me saying

'Dont Mr.Nayak!!! Right now please take care of Anamika!! She only needs love, care and support. If you really want to protect her... please never let the shadow of that man ever fall on her... please stay by her side... above all... please give her your name!!! Give her child your name... Miranda told me her biggest fear is only that some day the man will find out about her pregnancy and try to claim her child...And she doesn't want that monster's shadow to fall on her child...the reason she agreed to marry you...but if the world knows that she is carrying your child, she is your wife...no Meet would ever dare to step into Anamika's arena. You are one powerful man Mr.Nayak!!! I know revealing Anamika's identity as your wife can give Camellia more freedom to plot against you but would also keep maggots like Meet think hundred times before they think of approaching Anamika!!!'

Just because Arthur asked me not to take any action against him I kept quiet. However it was only for the time being. Camellia was waiting for an opportunity to drag me down and I didn't want her to get an opportunity due to this issue. I had to control my anger and handle things smartly.

On one side I had to take care of a pregnant Anamika, keep her away from all the stress and give her a happy life and a healthy pregnancy, the other side I had to protect my life, my baby Roshni from that witch Camellia. Simultaneously I had to keep the witch and the monster... Anamika's fraud ex husband away from her.

I looked at the spare mobile in my hand which had all the messages and calls that came to Anamika's phone being notified to me. I know this isn't right but after knowing the bastard and his intentions, I had to make sure that he would never get a chance to reach out Anamika. I had to be miles ahead of him. The reason I got a tracker app which runs in the background installed on her phone without her knowledge. The app would redirect every message that came to Anamika before it would reach her and would also keep track of every phone call that came to Anamika and the moment we would see an unknown number, my team of hackers would immediately block it. I knew this was shady but I was helpless. Anamika and our unborn baby are my family and Shankar Nayak hell protects his family from every evil.

Although I had blocked Meet's number and deleted all his messages from Anamika's number that night, I knew the bastard could try to reach her via another number as well. My team was always on high alert. Additionally I had also asked them to find out where the bastard was hiding. It was tough tracking him because he was dialing via a private number and hence we couldn't track his location but I had decided to make sure to find him and dig his grave even if he had chosen to hide inside a cave or a grave!!!

Amongst all of this I had one more huge responsibility to fulfill. I knew I was going to do something this big without Anamika's permission but I had to do this because I wanted her to have a peaceful pregnancy. I couldn't let her live in this fear, so I had finally taken a huge step without her consent but I knew this would only bring happiness in her life.

That's when my phone started ringing and I noticed it was Jack.

'Sir!!! The flight landed fifteen minutes ago!!! Shall I get-'

'Stay there Jack!!! I'll reach in a few minutes!!!'

He hummed assuring that his best men were surrounding the house in my absence and I had nothing to worry. I smiled. I had complete faith in Jack. He's the best and he will always get the best men when it comes to handling my important people, may it be my sisters, my daughter or my wife.

In approximately 45 minutes I reached the airport and as expected Jack had already managed to get the person's luggage and belongings as he slowly was escorting him out of the airport.

The minute he stood infront of me, his eyes widened. I slowly smiled and bent down to touch his feet as I whispered

'I hope you had a comfortable flight Sir!!! Welcome to NewYork!!!'

In reply the man only nodded his head. He looked hesitant and fearful. I knew this was not going to be easy but this was the only way to solve everything.

This step meant a lot of confrontation, a lot of drama but definitely it meant a peaceful pregnancy for Anamika and that's all I cared right now.

Her happiness and her comfort.

I loved to see her smile. I loved to see her happy. The only discomfort I liked on her face was when I tried to tease her. The only hue she had to possess was the blush that my actions brought onto her chubby cheeks. The only surprise and shocks she deserved were the happy ones which I would give her whenever she tried to run away from me.

And I don't know why I feel that I can do anything for her.

Just ANYTHING!!!
