Chapter Four
Landon
"What the hell happened to you?" I asked, "Nothing you need to worry about, Landon. You need to train." Eliza's voice was weak and her hand was soaked in bold dark red blood. Not as bright as her long hair but like those burgundy coloured unnatural looking hair dyes.
"I got the leafs I was looking for." Her hands ripping in half one big leaf, almost as big as a young adult novel. "Press it tightly to your wound." She said handing me the leaf. "You're clearly injured take it, I don't need it." I hand her back the part of the leaf she gave me, her hand was grasping her part of the leaf tightly. "Landon, for once why don't you think about yourself and not others. It's a brute mistake to give it to me." "Ladies first." I tried to uncurl her hand and place the leaf in it. "Take the leaf! Take it!" She yelled, I was startled by her raise of volume, "What?..."
Her one hand took her leaf and threw it in the water, pressing my part on to my back, "ah!" I groan, she was limping into the water and placing her piece on her stomach. "Maybe you should care about yourself for once." I muttered.
"Are we gonna wear these clothes for a week?" "I brought mine, I don't know about you." She groaned.
"Why don't you like me?" I stood up and fell onto the sand next to her, "I never said I didn't." She replied, "You're so hostile." "Landon, if you knew me then you would know that my friends would never use the word, hostile to describe me. I don't wanna open up to you nor will I ever. This isn't a love story, this is a war we are talking about. We are nothing more then acquaintances." "So be it," I chuckled for no reason.
My mind was a bit weary and I was a bit dizzy. "You're drunk." She said, surprised. "What? How?" A slur to my words, "You didn't press hard enough, you, your toxins are drawing back into your wound, you dumbass." "You're a useless person," I chuckled again, "Eliza," I said.
"Shhh your ass, I've never handled a drunken drum cut before." "I'm sorry, should've told you how beautiful you are and stuff."
"What?" Her fingernails were digging deep into my shoulder, letting out a wail, I laugh after, it was almost like I couldn't even feel pain anymore. "Don't take things so seriously." I pull her on top of me, "OW!" Her nails were digging so deep into my shoulder I started to bleed, "Sleep, you need it. Sober up while you're at it." Her voice went cold as I stood up and slept near the weary musty water that might potentially kill me.
"I don't do fast relationships, Landon. We don't have a relationship we have nothing. Absolutely nothing. Nothing together."
