Rita Stone was the first OC I ever came up with for any Doctor Who fic, I remember thinking and going through lists upon lists of names for this character before deciding on Rita Stone. I don't think I could have picked a better name because it just fits her so well.

We first meet Rita on a Dalek ship, not knowing how she got on board and not even she knew.

Eventually through small pieces of information here and there learn that Rita lived in Bath the Somerset city where she grew up with her Foster mother who raised her as her own after her parents died when she was only a baby. After studying to become a science teacher and getting nowhere in finding a job Rita moved to London and worked in a local Tescos supermarket while trying to find a more secure job, during that time she lived in a small apartment. That However, is not how she met the Doctor. After falling off a stool while trying to change a light bulb Rita's life changed forever and she was transported into the world of Doctor Who.

There were parts of her life Rita couldn't explain, things that had happened that she had no logical answer for. One of those being how she ended up in the Universe of Doctor Who, one minute she was in her horrible, tiny London flat the next her head was hurting and the famous faces of David Tennant and Billie Piper were staring at her.

After that point, her life literally turned upside down and the rest is history.
