Without further ado, here are the winners for Humour:
1st Place:
The Hoodie Girl by XX_Flying_Pandas_XX
Score: 95/100
Review: Honestly, this was such an amazing book. I was genuinely engrossed in it from the very beginning, and I really loved the attention to detail. The plot was practically flawless, while the book cover, blurb and title were more original than other books. However, I noticed that when using dialogue, the author used periods to end it before the speech tags rather than commas; I suggest changing that during an editing session. Some work on character development and description of the characters could also be added. But the plot was amazing, and I loved every minute of this book! Keep on writing!
2nd Place:
Love Hate by Kikibtsstan
Overall Score: 93/100
Review: Overall, Love Hate was nicely written, with that sense of humour and drama that almost every book has. I loved the characters, as their personalities were well described throughout the story, but personally, I would recommend the author adding more detail about the description of the setting to enhance the reader's understanding. Additionally, I would also suggest fixing up any grammar and punctuation mistakes thrown in there, especially when using dialogue, and perhaps rewriting the blurb. It was short and sweet, but it didn't give enough for the reader to pick up the story. However, I did enjoy the author's message delivery; it was very clear. Well done!
3rd Places (a tie):
Pistachio girl by ilickcupcakes
Score: 91/100
Review: It was lots of fun reading your story! I liked the opening as well, that is, the dream. The story really suits the category; it was so full of humour. I like the flow and development of the story and the author has a very good writing style. Grammar errors were rare, except for some punctuation and comma mistakes and misspellings. And the characterisation of the protagonist is well-constructed. Good job!
Origami Love by chaoticminds-
Score: 91/100
Review: Overall, Origami Love was an outstandingly written story. The plot was practically flawless, and the book cover, blurb and title really matched the style of the story. Additionally, the grammar and punctuation were clean and consistent throughout the book; there were only a couple of missed commas thrown in there, as well as a few typos that could be fixed without a problem during an editing session. What I loved most about the book was its originality, as everything was written without similarities to other books and with that sense of humour thrown into the huge family mystery the author had me indulged in. Overall, she did a lovely job!
