Shadestar tossed over onto his side several times.He tried to find a comfortable position in his nest to get some more sleep,but he unable to do so and gave up.Letting out a grunt of frustration,he slowly got to his paws and shook out his ruffled pelt.He arched his back into a long stretch until his body quivered.Afterwards,he gave himself a quick wash and began scenting the air for any scents of prey.When he found none,he trotted off into the forest,hoping to find something for the Goldscars.

Yesterday had strangely been quiet.Despite the fact there had been thunder and lightning,it only indicated rain and nothing else.Confusion clouded his mind.Wasn't at least one tribute supposed to die every day?

Shaking it off,he froze when the scent of vole hit his nose.His mouth beginning to water,Shadestar quietly pinpointed the position and began carefully stalking towards it.A small,furry,plump brownish-gray body was huddled underneath some vegetation and nibbling a beech nut.

Licking his lips,Shadestar unsheathed his claws.He focused intently on the vole until time seemed to slow down.Launching himself forward,he felt his prey crush under his paws as a terrified squeak,followed by a crack was heard.Lifting his paws,satisfaction surged through him as he gazed down at the vole and his belly growled with hunger.

Picking it up in his jaws,he headed back to the temporary camp to see the other tributes beginning to wake up.He stifled a mrow of amusement as Firefly grumbled something under his breath as a thorn pierced his paw.

Ignoring the others,Shadestar set the mouse down on the ground and devoured it in famished gulps.He glanced at Dodre as he lifted himself up from the ground.

"Dodre,don't you think that was a little strange?"

Dodre titled his head."What?"

"No tributes died yesterday,yet they've been dying since the Games began,"Shadestar continued.

The wolf shrugged."It doesn't seem anywhere near absurd.Not many of us are left.No surprise that Feather hasn't done anything yet."

"Yea,but...it's still weird,"Shadestar muttered.

As he pawed at a bone from his vole,he nearly jumped when a white flake landed on his nose.Flicking it off,a few more flakes began falling before he realized what was happening-it was snowing!

"It's snowing!"Kelive howled in delight.

"You'd think we'd be grateful for snow after all the heat we've been facing,"Coldice muttered.

"You should change your name from Coldice to Hotice!"Kelive joked.

"Watch it-I'm still your mother,"Coldice warned,making the wolf pup slightly flinch.

"We'll have to find a den of some sort,"Dodre murmured,his eyes fixed on the pale,white sky.

"Right now?"Bearpaw asked as he leaped into the air with joy."We're having so much fun!"

"Enjoy it while it lasts,because Feather won't make it snow forever,"Firefly muttered,pulling the thorn out from his paw.

"I hope she does,"Kelive barked,his eyes sparkling.

"You better hope she doesn't,"Dodre snarled."The snow may be light now,but within a few hours a blizzard could blow in and bury you."

"Don't scare him!"Coldice protested as her pup came scampering over to her.

"He's mean!"Kelive wailed to his mother.

"Yea I am,"Dodre growled,baring his teeth."Deal with it."With a flick of his tail,he stomped off into the forest,not daring once to look back at his group.

"Moody much?"Firefly muttered.

Nodding his head in agreement,Shadestar curled his tail over his paws as he occasionally stuck out his tongue to try and catch a few snowflakes.He enjoyed the single moments when he could relive being a kit,suckling at Breezefur's belly and playing with her tail.She had loved him more than anyone besides her mate,Shrewtail.

He let out a deep sigh as he felt the world swirl around him.He agreed with Kelive-he hoped Feather didn't make the snow stop.Ever.

Yea only one POV this time. o^o J-Just get over it! DX At least I posted something,right?...Right? ^^;

This isn't helping my case. o-o *slowly disappears into darkness*
