Alex felt his heart jump into his throat.I should've never done this!Now I'll just be known as a murder in the Games!

He was startled when he heard a loud cough sound beneath him.He looked down and saw Midstrip coughing up mouthfuls of water.Confusion clouded his mind.Midstrip's alive?!But,how...?!

Another lightning bolt streaked across the sky.Alex realized it looked dangerously close.A storm must be rolling in...

He looked up to see the ghostly tan-colored head of Feather illuminated in the dark gray sky.The dark brown wolf curled his lips into a snarl.What does she want now?

"I've been watching your progress,tributes,and I have to be honest,I'm impressed,"she purred in her silky tone that made Alex want to rip her fur off."However,to push your skills to the limits,I've decided to make things a bit more...challenging."As she flashed her signature grin,Alex felt a deep growl rumble in his throat."Remember,I'm always watching,"she mewed as her face began fading into nothingness.

Challenging?What is she talking about? Alex thought scornfully.A loud thunderclap,followed by lighting,sounded across the sky,seeming even closer.The wolf's pelt crawled as a bolt struck something that made an ear-splitting BOOM.

His jaws gaped when he saw an orange flame flicker in the sky in the trees on the other side of the river.Oh no...

More flames began showing up,sending an acrid smelling smoke into the air.It grew thicker as the fire began growing bigger.Horrible realization came to Alex.Feather's sent out thunder to confuse the tributes and a lightning bolt to cause a fire!That's what she meant when she said things would become more challenging!

Another lightning bolt streaked on the side he and Midstrip were on,sending another fire blazing through the oak forest.At this point,Alex felt he would go deaf by the sounds,though he was lucky enough he didn't.

More smoke was emitted into the air as the wall of fire kept blazing around the two male wolves.Dread tugged at his belly.We're going to burn alive!

He stole a quick glance at Midstrip as the blue and gray wolf feebly struggled to get to his paws.Smoke surrounded them,making breathing difficult.Alex's chest heaved with the effort to draw breath in.

"What are you waiting for?"he gasped.

"What do you mean?"Alex woofed,his chest wracking has smoke filled his lungs.

"Just go!Save yourself!Only one of us can live!"Midstrip howled,looking at Alex with pleading eyes,his chest heaving.

The brown male wolf shook his head furiously."No!I'm not going to let you die!"He swung his head around,desperately trying to find a way out.Every possible exit was now engulfed in burning flames as they greedily burned everything they touched.We won't die!

Hope soared in his chest as he realized a small gap in the flames.It was beginning to shrink,but if he hurried,he and Midstrip would make it out hopefully without getting burned too much.Grabbing the blue and gray male wolf by the scruff,he dragged him in his jaws until he was a fox-length away from the gap.Crouching on his haunches,he put on a burst of speed and began pounding towards the gap while trying to keep his grip on Midstrip.With a great leap,he jumped through the still-shrinking gap while only singing his tail.He thudded onto the ground.He couldn't believe it.He escaped the fire!How Midstrip's condition was now,he would have yet to find out.

::Swiftstar's POV::

(Cliffhangerz .3. So,Midstrip didn't drown (Yay c:),but did he entirely survive the fire? o3o Who knows...? eue)

Swiftstar angrily stomped through the forest,not caring about where she was going.All she cared about was finding a way to get back at Firefly for totally screwing up her friendship with Echostrike...if it was a friendship at the start.Swiftstar lashed out at the air,rage surging through her.

"What I wouldn't do to rip through Firefly's pelt,"she growled darkly."I'll make him pay."

What am I saying?I shouldn't have to kill just to win my battles!Unless...

Swiftstar pushed the thought away.No!I'm nothing like that!I'm not a killer and I never will be!I'm a Clan leader!I have to act like one!

The blue smoke and white she-cat continually swerved among the branches beneath her paws and did her best to avoid them.She froze when a fresh scent hit the roof of her tongue.Opening her jaws,she drank in the scent,though was unable to tell who it was.

Probably a tribute I haven't seen for a while...

She was taken off guard when a heavy weight landed on her side,bowling into her and knocking her over.Swiftstar unsheathed her claws and lashed out,unable to see who was attacking her.She rolled over and was soon pinned down in less than a heart-beat by a light blue cat.Her eyes showed unfriendliness and unhidden hostility.

"You!You're the one who nearly killed Burnflight!"she hissed.

"But I didn't!"Swiftstar retorted angrily,battering her belly,lashing out with her back claws.She heard a pained yowl sound from the she-cat as she let go of her and backed away,her belly beginning to bleed from the wounds.

Blood roared in Swiftstar's ears as satisfaction coursed through her.I'll make you sorry you ever did that...

Letting out an ear-splitting caterwaul,she thrust herself towards the she-cat who was staring wide-eyed at her,frozen to the spot until she was knocked off her paws.Swiftstar unsheathed her claws and began clawing at the she-cat face.She watched as she helplessly tried to cover her face.That won't do anything,coward!she thought triumphantly.

Finally,the she-cat lashed out with claws unsheathed and aimed at Swiftstar's already scarred muzzle.Swiftstar dodged easily,knowing moons of battle had definitely helped her.She quickly lifted her paw and slammed it hard down on the she-cat throat.Her shriek turned into a gurgle as her body went limp and crimson blood gushed out of her wound.Loud thunder and lightning sounded to announce the she-cat's death.

Swiftstar flicked away the blood dripping from her claws."That strangely felt...good ,"she murmured to herself,slowly licking the blood away from her paw.The salty tang spread onto her mouth as her tongue lapped away.

She perked when another cat stepped out from the bracken.A dark sky blue she-cat with rainbow ringed ears,rainbow paws,tail and eyes gasped in horror when she saw the dead she-cat."You killed Angelfeather!"she cried."She was the only O.C. I could team up with ever since our group got separated!"Her eyes blazed."Why would you do this?!"

Swiftstar let her icy gaze burn into the small she-cat's pelt."Because that's how you win in The O.C. Hunger Games.You eliminate the competition."She paused for a moment."What's your name?"

"Why should I tell you?!"she snarled in reply."You killed Angelfeather,you black-hearted murderer!"

"What's your name?"Swiftstar repeated again,this time glaring at her.

The rainbow she-cat curled her lips."Comet."

"Well then,Comet,"Swiftstar purred,trying to sound like Feather,"I'll be the last face of an O.C. you ever  see."Lunging at Comet,she pinned her down quickly and began clawing madly at her.The she-cat yowled out in pain as she struggled to aim her blows correctly at Swiftstar,though none of them struck.The blue smoke and white she-cat thrust her muzzle forward towards Comet's neck and heard a crack in heartbeats.More lightning and thunder followed.

Swiftstar lifted her head from Comet's neck and watched as blood pooled around her,her eyes glassy as her life drained from it.

Cold dread pierced her like thorns.I've become a killer!And it's because of The Hunger Games!

NUUUU SWIFTSTAR WHY HAVE YOU DONE THIS TO YOURSELF ;-; So now,poor Angelfeather and Comet died at the cruel claws of now newly insane Swiftstar. :c I have to admit,I always feel guilty killing an O.C.POOR THINGS I PUT DEM IN DIS MESS ;;V;; I'm pretty sure O.C.'s have the power to regenerate,though... XD (Unless their Warrior O.C.'s ono) What do you think will happen to Alex and Midstrip now that they've escaped the fire?Is Midstrip still alive? ovo Keep reading to find out...
