8. Mistakes Were Made
Aizawa let Izuku come to the class.
He was sat in the usually empty seat, which was conveniently located next to Ochaco's. The first few classes weren't all to different than what he was used to.
He didn't have to do any of it, of course, but that didn't stop him from analysing everything that was happening in class. Unknown to him, a photographic memory quirk was engraining the information he analyzed into the back of his mind, until it would be used.
Then there was lunch. By the time lunch came, Izuku had become even more clingy. During the classes, while he knew that Ochaco was right next to him, they didn't really interact with each other.
He hadn't ever felt this desperate for positive attention. Or maybe he did, and just couldn't tell before. When they were walking to the cafeteria, Izuku grabbed for Ochaco's hand. Ochaco started to blush, but it was barely noticeable since she had rosy cheeks constantly.
Her hand was warm against his, a warmth that he craved so much. She rubbed his thumb with hers.
Ochaco was worried about Izuku, to say the least. Sure, she found the way he grabbed her hand adorable, but something was definitely wrong. The way he was acting was obviously after some from of attention. Like he thought that he would disappear if he went unnoticed.
Maybe he did think that..
She pulled him closer, as they continued walking to the cafeteria. "Hey, it's gonna be ok..."
"I'm fine" Izuku muttered in response, although he clearly wasn't, with the black color of his eyes.
They entered the cafeteria, and Izuku tightened his grip. There were so many people there, he just wanted to be alone with Ochaco, Ochaco was the only person who he knew he could trust, everyone else would just hurt him like how people always hurt him, he didn't want to hurt anymore, he didn't think he could handle it-
Focus, Izuku... your safe.
He relaxed slightly, although not by much, and scanned the cafeteria. He noticed an empty table in one corner, and pointed to it. "H-hey, can we sit over there? ... alone?"
Ochaco nodded, "sure, I guess"
The pair walked over to the table, carrying their lunch trays. They ate their meals, conversing about random subjects.
Once Izuku finished eating, however, he placed his head on Ochaco's shoulder. He didn't actually want anything out of it, her shoulder was just comfy to him. She giggled at the nomu-boy, and played with his curly hair, causing him to purr.
It was funny, how Izuku purred like that so often. Maybe he had some sort of cat quirk? It was definitely possible. Ten of his quirks were still unknown.
Eventually, the bell rang, signaling that lunch was over.
Izuku looked around wildly, startled by the sudden noise of the bell, before relaxing again.
Ochaco led him out of the cafeteria, back into their classroom.
It was the final class of the day- heroics. Izuku was excited for it, even if he wouldn't be participating. He would be able to update his notes on everyone in class 1-A, which he had made after the sports festival.
A skinny blond man walked into the room, standing in front of the podium. Izuku didn't recognize him as a pro-hero...
Wait.
Didn't All Might deflate like that after he saved me from the sludge villain?
Isn't that form supposed to be a secret?!
Why is he showing it too everyone here? Shouldn't he be in his buff form?
Izuku was confused. Obviously, everyone here already knew, cus they were acting like it was nothing. Maybe something happened to All Might, making him unable to stay a hero?
"You all know about the provisional license exam, right? Well today, we're going to work on our super moves for it. We'll be doing this all week." All Might explained. He then brought the students to gym gamma.
Izuku was dumbfounded by the size of the place. It was huge, as if the school was for giants! Then again, in a world filled with quirks, someone could easily be that big.
"You'll have to stay here, on the sidelines, alright?" Ochaco informed him. Izuku nodded. There was no point in trying to be stubborn about it. It would only harm everyone else.
He just watched as everyone experimented with their quirks, creating unique moves.
All the different quirks were so interesting to him, even if he had seen them before. They had changed so much since the sports festival!
Of course, some things stayed the same, like how Todoroki refused to use his fire.
Or how destructive Kacchan always was.
He wasn't just writing notes on quirks, no, he wrote down everything about a person. Their fears, personalities, support items, fighting tendencies, any habits he picked up on, etc etc. You name it, he most likely knew it.
He was focused on watching Kaminari's support items, and didn't notice the rocks rushing at him from Bakugou's explosions.
