16. Search For A New Home
Izuku endlessly treked the forest, Eri riding on his back. Sometimes she'd get down and walk besides him, especially when he was out on a hunt. Similar to what was happening right now.
Izuku was crouched in the grass, watching the rabbit carefully.
It's head perked up, and just before it could leap away, Izuku pounced on it, biting into its head. Eri wasn't paying much attention to the scene, instead watching as butterflies flew by.
The rabbit went limp in his mouth, and he dropped it on the ground. "Now we just need a fire too cook it..." He muttered, catching Eri's attention.
"Did you get something..?" Eri questioned, and Izuku nodded. He put the rabbit in their backpack, and Eri climbed onto Izuku's back. "Hopefully, we can find a new place to stay tonight..." He sighed.
They continued on their journey, up until they came across a small clearing. "Hm, I guess I could probably set up a fire here to cook the rabbit..." Izuku said, and Eri slid off of his back.
He then began setting up the fire, Eri standing back, watching.
[Timeskippy]
It had been a few days of this now, and they still couldn't find anywhere. Eventually, he had reached the edge of the forest, and the two found themselves near the edge of Hosu. Izuku sat there, tail flicking around on the ground, and Eri stood besides him. "Maybe we could go live in a house there!!" Eri said with a grin.
Izuku nodded, "well, yeah, but the heroes might catch us. Er, well, me, at least..."
Eri tilted her head slightly, "But aren't you a hero?"
He shook his head slowly, "No, I'm a nomu, and a dangerous one at that. The heros are trying to recapture me so that I don't endanger anyone"
Eri still seemed confused by the statement, but she nodded anyway. "Will they look for us there?"
Izuku shrugged, "Don't know.... I guess it'd be better than living out here in the forest, at least. But... how would we get a house...?" He began mumbling ideas to himself, and although Eri didn't understand any of it, she knew that he was coming up with a good plan.
Eventually, he said, "Well, I guess we could find an abandoned building somewhere... But we'll have to wait til it's night time, we don't want to be seen, after all."
"Okay!!" Eri said, smiling. If Izuku said that it would work, surely she could trust him! After all, he was the one who saved him from that awful place.
And plus, he took care of her, kept her safe and gave her food. He was friendly to her. It only made sense that he was trustworthy.
"Why don't you get some rest, okay? We don't want you to be all tired when we go move into our new home, now do we?" Izuku said, and Eri giggled, nodding.
[POV Switch]
After all of the excitement had worn off, Uraraka found herself feeling... empty. Well, that and guilty. She had seriously forgotten about Izuku that easily! She had said that she'd be his freind! Friends don't forget about eachother like that!
And, even with the rest of the class, it was lonely, with Izuku gone. The nomu-boy had taken up alot of her attention (and mindspace) within the weeks that he had been living within UA. And she knew that he had quickly clung onto her, become attached as if she were his lifeline.
So as the sinking feeling of guilt ate away at her very soul, she did nothing to stop it. After all, she should feel guilty. She had forgotten about him, so, so easily. And that wasn't something that good friends should do. Hell, she doubted that she should even be considered his friend anymore!
After all, if someone did that to her, she doubts that she'd still consider them a friend.
[A/N]
I don't really have much to say for this chapter, but I do wanna apologize for the once again long wait. I've been having a hard time getting myself motivated for this fic, as I don't have as many ideas for it as I did when I first started writing it.
