Win's POV

"Go ahead and do whatever you want. I don't care," I said to Bright as I angrily climbed out of his car.

Bright and I had just finished having dinner at our favorite Thai restaurant where we had ordered our favorite dish of Pad Krapow Gai.

It had been a happy event until we got to his car where he did not start the engine right away.

"What?" I asked when he did nothing but sit without  putting his seat belt on but instead turned to face me with a serious expression on his face.

"Promise me that you will not interrupt but listen to what I have to say until I finish," he said.

Those words instantly set off my anxiety. I had no choice but to nod my head unless I did not want to know what he wanted to tell me. Unfortunately I knew that my anxiety level would shoot up if I did not hear what he had to say.

He held me by my shoulders and took a deep breath.

"I won't be seeing you for six months," he announced.

"And why is that?" I asked. Already my anxiety level had doubled.

"I will be going to a place where if I complete the six months without incident I stand to gain thirty million bahts," he announced.

"What???" I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

"No, sorry, not thirty million, half of that because I will have to share it with a partner," he corrected himself.

"And who is your partner?" I asked, starting to feel hurt.

"Someone with whom I have to live with in close quarters for six months without touching, much less kissing him," he said, his voice sounding grim.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," I said. "I think you're missing out some details."

"Listen, Win," he shook my shoulders slightly. "I have to do this without you because if I do I would never win that thirty million bahts."

"I still don't understand what this is all about," my voice was starting to sound tearful.

Bright took a deep breath.

"Let me start over," he said.

"There is this contest that will take place next month and I have decided to send in my application. The rules of the contest are I have to go there with a partner and I have to live with him in the same room and in the same house with other couples for six whole months. The whole place which is a mansion will be fitted with cameras in every nook and cranny so there's no movement that will go undetected. If during those six months, any of the couples make any physical contact with each other, they will be booted out of the place. But if the remaining couple completes the six months without touching each other, they stand to win thirty million bahts to be divided equally between them," said Bright, taking another deep breath after his long explanation.

"So who are you taking with you?" I asked. I was assuming that it would not be me otherwise he would have asked me already.

"I was thinking of Frank," he replied. "Frank Thanatsaran."

I quickly felt a sharp stabbing pain tear through my chest.

"Go ahead and do whatever you want. I don't care," I said as I angrily shook his hands off my shoulder and climbed out of his car.
