Preface.
Author’s Note:
I have long held the opinion that we who have been blessed with sight will never be able to fully understand a blind person and what it is like to live a life surrounded by constant darkness. Sometimes, however, fate allows us a little glimpse into just how they view the world and all that is in it.
Two years back, when I was still studying graphic design, my university was in the same building as the Library for the Blind; this meant I would often cross paths with blind people of all ages and walks of life. Little did I know how heavily I would draw from these experiences in order to write this book.
Writing from a blind man’s perspective isn’t easy and I am so grateful to all the people who would come to the library. They helped me to not only understand the blind person’s perspective of life, but also gave me a deep admiration for these courageous souls who continue to live life to the fullest, despite the fact that theirs is a world of total darkness.
I wish to dedicate this book to the visually impaired. They are true heroes who surround us every day, even though we rarely take notice them.
I want to apologize for any poor sentence structure, improper grammar and bad writing. English is not my native language and I’m still learning the art of good writing. If you notice some obvious mistakes, please don’t hesitate to point them out. I take criticism very well and am always looking to improve my writing, so I appreciate all the help I can get.
I sincerely hope you will enjoy this story, thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read it.
