Order X
I awoke, pressed comfortably between the duvet cover and the mattress. I made my way out of bed, showered, and quickly changed into a grey Team Order shirt from way back when. I pulled on a pair of black jeans, and tied my hair back into its usual messy ponytail, walking out the door and into the dinning room.
Chaos was surprisingly already there, dressed in a sea green Team Chaos shirt and kaki shorts. His hair was messier than usual, and he was quickly shoveling blubbery mini-wheats cereal into his mouth.
"Morning." He greeted through a mouthful of blue. I noticed a blueberry milkshake sitting on the counter, and grinned at my fiancé. He was a seaweed brain, but he could be thoughtful.
"Where are the others?" I questioned. "Thanks, for the milkshake, by the way." I said, slipping into the seat beside him and sipping the milkshake. Blueberry amazingness met my tastebuds, and I groaned in satisfaction. "I've been craving this for a long time, seaweed brain."
"You're welcome. I'm assuming the others are still sleeping or getting ready. Gwen said she was coming, as well as the rest of the A-Team, but I'm not waiting. I contacted her last night after we said goodnight, and told her what time to meet us." Chaos said, taking a break from shoveling food to breathe.
"Gwen isn't one to be late, or one to allow others to be late. I wonder what's taking her so long." I pondered, and Chaos' face suddenly split into a wide grin.
"You're making that face again, Order." He teased, and I blushed slightly, knowing that he was referring to when I scrunched up my eyebrows and nose when thinking hard.
"Ha ha, very funny." I said humorlessly, and went back to sipping my milkshake. Chaos pouted for a second, but went back to inhaling food.
After a few minutes, the doors to the dinning room burst open with a loud clang. Gwen was standing there, fists outstretched, panting slightly. Behind her was the rest of the A-Team, some looking half-asleep. Some otherwise known as Castellan and Valdez.
"Sorry we are late, Chaos, Order, these two idiots-" Gwen gestured exasperatedly at Leo and Luke- "Wouldn't get out of bed, despite the fact that they assured me that they would be fine at leaving this early."
"Wake up!" Calypso smacked the back of Leo's head as a loud snore escaped his lips. How he had managed to fall asleep while standing escaped me, but it was quite impressive.
"I see, it's fine though, Gwen, we were just wrapping up breakfast. You might have to eat on the way." Chaos assured her, standing up and placing his bowl and spoon in the sink. Whoever had kitchen duty would clean it up later.
I hated kitchen duty. Chaos and I participated in the chores, despite being the leaders of the operation. Chaos had insisted on it, not wanting to be treated like a higher class, and I had agreed. However, Chaos also enjoyed taunting me about how I'd made the dishwasher explode, after calculating how to fit every single plate and cup inside of it before turning it on. It had not been a good experience.
"That's fine with me, and to the rest of the A-Team, you can blame those two for delaying us. We can just purchase some Ambrosia on a stick or something like that. You ready to go?" Gwen said.
"Absolutely. Chaos, the milkshake was delicious." I grinned, and Chaos shot me a smile.
"What? You made Order a milkshake? B-but you never cook!" Lee exclaimed. Chaos laughed.
"She's my fiancé, she gets special treatment. Sorry, Fletcher." He smirked. Lee pouted, but I could see the amusement in his eyes.
"Alright, settle down you screeching peacocks, wait, never mind, that's basically Hera, okay, let me rephrase this." Chaos began to speak again, a frown momentarily covering his face as he mentioned the Queen of Olympus. "Just join hands, I'm going to flash us up." He sighed. Zoë rolled her eyes at the peacock comment, but I could see that she was struggling to contain her laughter.
We formed a circle, Chaos clutching my left hand, Michael on my right. Chaos shut his eyes, along with everyone else, and we were surrounded by a brilliant white light.
When I reopened my eyes, I was met by the bustling streets of Olympus. I gazed around, noting that nothing had changed since I had redesigned it. Chaos took my hand and squeezed it reassuringly, noticing my slight discomfort. I smiled at him, and wondered how in Death's name had I managed to find someone as great as him.
I had contacted Squad 1, as well as the B-Team before I had retired to my bed, and we had agreed to meet by a small fountain that had all of the names of the demigods we had lost during both of the wars engraved on it.
"So, where to?" Bianca asked, clasping Luke's hand. He finally appeared to be alert, and his blue eyes were taking in the surroundings, and I realized it was is first time seeing the changes.
"The Memorial Fountain, it's just down the path on the right. It's got all of the names of all of the heroes who died during the Second Titan and Giant wars." I informed her, and she nodded.
"Does it have my name on it?" Luke blurted out. He scratched the back of his neck sheepishly, and looked down at the paceman. Chaos released my hand, and made his way over to his friend.
"Castellan, of course your name is on it. It's one of the first ones we engraved back in the day. You were the hero of the Second Titan war, don't look down." He said, slapping Luke on the back and pulling him into a hug. Luke nodded, and I noticed Ethan biting his lip.
"Ethan, you're on there too, no worries." I said reassuringly, and Gwen smiled at me.
"Alright, alright, enough with the waterworks, speaking of waterworks, let's head on over to that fountain, I refuse to be woken up this early if all we are going to do is stand right at the entrance of Olympus and hold hands like little girls." Leo interrupted, and once again, Calypso smacked him.
"Leo! Be polite!" She scolded. Leo grinned sheepishly, a faint blush covering his cheeks.
"Sunshine, I was just trying to make an encouraging speech!" He complained, and everyone let out a giggle at his comment. He smiled in satisfaction, he had completed his mission to lighten the mood.
"Let's get going. We may or may not have a plant to save." I said, and as a group, we filed in line, jogging through the crowd of nymphs and satyrs, making our way over to the fountain.
The B-Team greeted us, and squad 1 was silent, as usual. Normally, the assassins could be sociable, but at a time like this, they preferred to be quiet and to ponder silently.
"Order, Chaos, A-Team. We've received some news, and it's not good."
