Order VIII
My head was throbbing, my arm burning. A hushed voice echoed in the room around me, but I could soon clearly recognize it, it was Chaos', and I could almost picture him gazing down worriedly at me.
"Chaos." I mumbled, and fidgeted around under the heavy hospital blankets. A wave of pain shot through my arm, and I winced.
"Order? Are you okay?" Chaos said loudly. I groaned, and then winced in pain. I could feel my powers, and I knew that they had returned. My arm was just really, really, sore.
"Mmhhm." I mumbled softly. A cold hand gently pressed against my forehead, and twirled a lock of hair. Chaos.
"Calypso, I need to get Calypso. My Life, Order. Why do you always have to wake up when Calypso has her lunch break?" Chaos mumbled, and then the hand was gone, and the sound of a door opening and closing were all I heard.
A few minutes later, my eyes began to flutter open, and the sounds of footsteps worked their way into my eardrums. The door swung open, just as I managed to glimpse the world again. Too bright.
Way..... to .......bright.
"Ah, Order, I see you are awake." Calypso's soothing and smooth voice washed over me, and I immediately relaxed into the bed. Her voice was one of the reasons she was our best healer, she could soothe anyone. It was almost like a gentle form of charmspeak.
"To...bright..." I said slowly, and I squeezed my eyes shut. I could here Calypso scurrying around the hospital room, and soon a cold glass was placed at my lips.
"Drink this. It's a mix of water and nectar." Chaos said encouragingly. My lips parted, and I gulped down the liquid, relishing the taste of Chaos' homemade blueberry milkshakes, the only thing he could actually make.
My eyes fluttered open again, and my vision returned, clear as day. Calypso was looking down at me, her caramel hair tied back in that perfect, rebel way that made me jealous. Leo was fiddling with a computer, and Chaos looked down at me, his brow etched with worry, but a giant, lopsided smile plastered on his face.
"Order." Chaos wrapped me in a bear hug, and I pecked his cheek. Calypso smiled, and Chaos released me, glancing at Calypso.
"So, Caly, she free to go?" Chaos asked. Calypso nodded.
"Yup. You two have fun watching your fish movie. Leo and I will be around here somewhere if you need anything. Order, if you start to get dizzy, just lie down, and it should fade after a minute or so." Calypso instructed, and I nodded, getting up shakily to my feet. Chaos wrapped his arm protectively around my shoulder, and I leaned against him, smiling gratefully.
"Got it." My voice was a little hoarse, but it didn't bother me. I was alive. I almost hadn't made it, but I was alive.
"Thanks again, Calypso, Leo." Chaos acknowledged, and steered me out the door. I grabbed his arm for support, he, noticing it, lifted me up and carried me bridal style into his private room.
There was a large flatscreen TV on the wall, and a squishy couch awaiting us. The Finding Nemo homepage was already up, and Chaos grabbed the remote off of a countertop as we passed it on our way to the couch.
As we sat down, I rested my head on Chaos's shoulder, running my fingers through locks of his hair. Chaos grinned absentmindedly.
"I'm hungry, can we at least grab some popcorn first?" I pleaded. My pleading eyes were nowhere close to Chaos' but they worked well enough. He shrugged.
"I guess. Chocolate covered?" He asked, knowing that once I had discovered them with Gwen, I had been addicted.
"Of course, do you even need to ask. Go fetch it, seaweed brain." I said jokingly, and Chaos bowed on his way out.
I sat comfortably for a few seconds, before starting to get bored. I grabbed a newspaper on the table in front of the couch and flipped through it. There was a picture of the Darklings pasted on the front, and I quickly scanned the article.
It was from back home, and I bit my lip, worrying about the other residents on our base planet. We'd left one backup group there, but if they were destroyed...I didn't want to think about what would happen.
"I'm back!" Chaos exclaimed, bursting through the door, his arms loaded with bags of chocolate covered popcorn and blue gummy bears. He tossed the popcorn to me, and ripped open the first package of gummy bears, popping five into his mouth at once.
"Let's get started, shall we?" Chaos said cheerfully. I wanted to tell him about the article in the paper, but decided to wait until after the movie. I didn't want to spoil his wel deserved fun. After all, he'd saved my life. Again, although I didn't enjoy admitting it.
"We shall, M'Lord. Press the button!" I grinned, and Chaos on lodged, starting the movie and wrapping an arm around my waist.
I cuddled up against him, popping the chocolatey goodness into my mouth, and enjoying myself.

"Wow. Great movie. We should watch it again sometime." Chaos said, his blue gummy bear packages littering the couch and floor. I laughed at my boyfriends antics, and kissed him gently.
"Whatever you say, seaweed brain." I said jokingly, and helped him clean up. I needed to tell him now.
"What is it, wise girl?" Chaos said worriedly, scanning my face. I must've had my I'm-thinking-really-hard-face on.
"Chaos, while you were getting the food, I read an article. The Darklings attacked home. I didn't want to tell you earlier, Because it would spoil your fun and all." I said sadly. Chaos' slightly cheerful expression melted away, replaced by a grim stoniness.
"My Life, we head to Olympus first thing in the morning. I'll alert Gwen. Damn it, this is not how I wanted the night to go." Chaos swore. I glanced at him, slightly confused.
"What do you mean?" I asked. Chaos looked at me, and his eyes swirled with mixed emotions.
"Order, think fast." He sighed, and tossed me an apple, hidden in his enchanted pocket.
"My life, Chaos, I thought you'd never ask!" I squealed. "Yes!"
