Chapter 2- So close yet so far..
Wings can be so beautiful and yet they still arent enough to fill the gap in Goth's SOUL that keeps growing wider the older he gets

Birth Multiverse
Goth tried to pay attention to his new fathers words but he just wasnt able to concentrate because of how distracting their large black wings were. His own were still small and full of grey baby feathers, unsure what colour they would come out in the end but going by Life's words it would be the same as his father's.
Pure black that reminded him of fathers sockets or space both felt so empty though, sometimes wondering who Reaper was even looking at when they saw him.
"Are you listening, Goth? This is rather important"
He quickly focused back on the present, giving a wobbly nod, still unused to his new body and how tiny he was. The urge to chew the bunny plushy in his arms was strong but he barely resisted, instead holding it closer and pretending it was something someone else.
He was soon lost in their words and his single eyelight quickly gravitated back towards their large black feathers again, his own wings unconsciously mimicking what the adults was doing, biting down on the sound that was trying to come out of his mouth the longer he sat on the floor alone.
He wanted to cry, to call for someone for comfort but he knew it was pointless, the last few years having shown him that time and time again, especially once his magic came in. Why WouLdn'T anYoNe ToUcH him-
"Goth? You ok, little one? Are you starting to get hungry? You've been zoning out a lot lately"
He reluctantly looked away from the pretty feathers and gave a simple nod in response, watching as they left to the kitchen but quickly came back with a bowl of cut up fruit.
He repressed a shiver when a long black flight feather accidentally brushed against him, not daring to make a sound in case it was pulled back, clutching his toy in a near death grip and trying not to cry at how nice it felt.
He thoughtlessly ate the fruit, the food tasting like ash in his mouth for some odd reason but he didnt stop until he ate most of the food, knowing he needed the energy to grow up.
Did he even want to bother at this point? One parent was gone, how long until the next one left him as well..?
Magic was another odd thing in his new life, something so new and yet it was already losing some of its appeal. He stared at his tiny hands, watching as black mist came out of it magic and felt a small smile form at the way it curled around his fingers like a playful cat.
He grabbed the last bit of fruit and touched it with the black mist, watching blankly as it turned into dust and vanished before the mess could even hit the floor.
It wasnt hard to realise that this was the reason few dared to get near him, even his new caretaker 'Life' he knew Reaper wasn't going to stay, his stuff having been moved to the goat monsters house as soon as mother disappeared rarely did so and he was growing used to the fact that he tried his best learn to live without it.
"I think its bed time for you, Gothy. Daddy has to go to work. Can you be good for Aunty Life for me?"
...he was losing time it seemed, unsure how he missed the hours passing by but obediently nodded his head, the only answer that was acceptable.
He watched as they left the room without a second glance his chest felt weird, like something in it was squeezing painfully but he did his best to ignore that, it happening often enough he could do so.
He was fine..
He would be fine by himself again, all he had to do was grow up again and he could move out and look after himself. He had no clue how long it took monsters to do so but it surely couldn't be that long, sure he could make it that long until he could fade into obscurity again.
The brush of feathers against his bones filled his dreams for weeks after, desperately clinging to that feeling to hopefully never forget a single detail.
He would be fine...just like always in these cycles that never ended.
