She has a Danish nationality on Hans's side and has familial roots in Atlantica on Uma's side. Personality: Hazel is very responsible; whether it be homework assignments or the safety of the people she cares about, she makes sure that everything is in order. She is also disciplined and has self-control over what she says and does. She's also a good manager of her time, her work, etc. She likes her biological family (she hates Uma) and found family, and she loves spending time with them. She also enjoys music and understated status; she likes when nobody makes a big deal about her not looking like Hans. She also likes quality craftsmanship, enjoying the fact that someone took great care in making things.

However, Hazel can be a know-it-all at times and tends to be unforgiving with certain people (read: the Hook family). Backstory: Hazel was born at 13:45 (1:45 p.m.) on December 25, 2003, on the Isle of the Lost. Since Hans hated the idea of Uma raising his daughter, he raised Hazel on his own, becoming both mother and father to her. As she grew up, she was smaller than the other VKs, prompting Unity Hook to begin picking on Hazel, calling the latter "runt" every chance the former got. Hazel quickly withdrew into herself, and she couldn't even go to school at Dragon Hall because of Unity.

When she met Hubert Pinkerton, they became fast friends and partners-in-crime. Hubert got Hazel out of her shell, helping her become more confident, but he couldn't help her with her social anxiety. Along the way, they met Genevieve Gothel, who disliked Unity as much as Hazel and Hubert did. She became their friend, and they tore up the Isle together as a front for their good hearts.

Hazel soon realized that she was pansexual and came out to Hans and her found family. They accepted her and said that they'd love her no matter what. She thought that everything would be okay as long as she had them by her side. That was until Charity Bertha invited her along with Hubert and Genevieve to Auradon.
