Chapter 9: The bet

Coral was cooking when Casey stood next to her.

"I know what you want, Jones. I refuse to compete in another bet with you" She said without even looking at him.

"Aww! Why not!"

"Because last time, I ended up winning and you made me breakfast in bed for a month, complaining every moment of it" Casey rolled his eyes.

Coral drank some tea "But this time I'll propose one, I bet you by the end of the week, they will form their own team"

"I thought you said you didn't want to make a bet with me?"

"Yes but this is different, you know the secrets Raphael has kept from his daughter as has Leonardo"

"You know what, what happens to the loser this time?"

"The loser has to clean Michelangelo's home, with their toothbrush, every inch."

"Hell no!"

"Then the bet is off!" Coral smirked and sat down with the others.

The others looked at both of them, confused.

"What the hell was that all about?" Donnie asked

"Casey and Coral love making bets with each other.. for some reason! And she always wins and he's always salty." Raph explained.

"Because she's rigging them!"

"Or maybe because I'm smarter than you"

"Oh shove a baguette up your fancy ass!" The others just sighed or facepalmed.

"Ah, still the same hot headed brute, Jones. It's no wonder you can't get a girlfriend" Coral smirked as she just roasted him.

"Need some aloe for that burn, Jones!!" Nightshade laughed and fell backwards. Mikey and Raph joined in the laughter.

"Oh shut up!"

"I'm not wrong, and if you even think about setting me up, I will shove my spear down your throat."

"Ooh, who could I set Coral up with?" Casey said, jokingly.

"I wouldn't do that Uncle Casey" Leah didn't even look up from her plate "Coral has dedicated her entire life protecting my mom and everything she holds dear"

"Leah's mother died tragically in a plane crash, I will protect Leah without any distractions." Coral told the same lie, she's been telling her for years.

"It's bad enough, you two won't tell me how she died! Can you stop repeating that lie?" The others got quiet for a moment and memories from that night came flooding back.
