The Next Day

"Morning Mother, Morning Father" Light greeted her parents like any other day as she walked into the dining room.

"Good morning Light"

"Good morning, my daughter"

"Do you have anything planned for today?"

"Just some training and then I'm going on a date with Hayden"

"Ooh, another date?"

"Yes mother, I'm going on another date"

"Mmm."

"Everything okay honey?"

"It's just... Have you two even brought him up with your friends for dinner?"

"I'm sorry? What are you talking about father?"

"I think you and him are moving too fast!"

"What do you mean we're moving too fast?!"

"My daughter, you have been distancing yourself from him so I assumed you broke up and now-!"

"Why would I break up with him?!"

"I gotta agree with your dad on this one, you and Hayden were distancing a little and we thought you had a fight"

"We didn't have a fight! I was having a fight with my stupid genetics!"

"Light, what are you talking ab-!"

"I asked Aubrey about it and she said that when snakes mate, they distance themselves from their lovers while wolves smother them!! So technically it's your fault!"

"I thought that was obvious"

"What do you mean 'it was obvious'?! Your mother didn't know!"

"I did" Karai looked at Solaris, "It was obvious, babe"

"Well it clearly wasn't to me, so.. are you breaking up with him?"

"Solaris!"

"So what will you two do?"

"We're just gonna watch a movie"

"You know that's not what we meant"

"Look I don't know what to do"

Light groaned and slammed her head on the table.

"Maybe you should go train for a bit"

"Yeah... I'm gonna do that"

Meanwhile at the lair

"Dunce Face, give it back!!"

"No way!! It's my turn!!"

"No, it's not!!"

"Ray!! Be nice to your cousin" Haley shouted from the kitchen.

"This kid is making me pull the hair out of my scalp"

"Is that how it's gonna be when you guys have your next kid?" Lovey asked, drinking a strawberry milkshake.

"I swear if someone mentions another kid I'm gonna-!"

Lovey looked at Nightshade and gasped, "You are as red as a rose in spring!"

"So, who's the lucky person?"

Nightshade turned bright red, "W-Well, do you remember that woman we ran into at the store last week?"

"You're gonna have to be more specific"

"She had a little 10 year old with her, she was also carrying a gun"

"Sounds like any woman in New York"

"More specific Nightshade"

"For god sakes, the detective!!"

"Ohh, her! What about her?"

"Well, we went out for coffee and-!"

"You took her out for coffee and didn't tell us?!"

"I also had pancakes for breakfast, do I need to tell you that, dad?"

"Now... I'm in the feels!!" Nightshade shouted, slamming his head onto the table.

"Oh, the feels... The tragic phase before a relationship"

"Well duh" Haley sat up, "First shameless flirting, you meet up a couple times, hugs and all that but then you get feels, now it's the phase where you wanna get dressed up, maybe shave a leg or two"

"And you get this tingling in your belly, and every time you see them you wanna either punch them or kiss the hell out of them!"

"I think punching them is just what happened with you and Raph"

"I'm going to get a girlfriend!!" Nightshade smiled and flapped his wings in joy.

The teenagers were fighting over the video game console when they saw Solaris, Karai, Light and Hayden walk into the lair.

"Get off me!"

"I had it first, now give it back!"

"Never!!"

"Ahem!" Light coughed, snickering at the madness.

"Oh great, Snakey Jr is here"

"I'm here too," Hayden chuckled, earning their attention.

"Oh, Snakey Jr and cinnamon roll boyfriend, today's gonna be fun"

"When will the nicknames stop, Ray?"

"Hmm, hey pops, have you stopped giving my aunts and uncles nicknames yet!"

"Nope!!"

"There's your answer"

"Of course, what do we expect from the hothead?"

"Aww, looks like you gave me a nickname"

"Oh hush!"

"And I get the video game controller" Hayden snickered as he took the video game controller from Sera's hands. "Since none of you remember who had it first"

"Aww man!!"

"How about we have a Mario Kart tournament?"

"Oooh, yes!! Winner has to buy dinner!!"

"Deal!"

"Hey Snakey, why's your husband upset?"

"Wanna tell them honey?"

Solaris grumbled as Casey handed him a drink, he began chugging it.

"Okay, Solaris chugging a drink.. Not a good sign"

"He just found out about Hayden and Light, if you know what I mean"

"No way"

"Yes way, he's a little pissed"

"Oh damn"

"Yeah, and he can't take it!"

"Geez, hey Sol, you wanna t-!"

"How could she let him?! She's never even been in the same room with a boy who she hasn't pummeled!"

"Well.. um.. Maybe she saw something different and non perverted with him than other boys?"

"Doesn't matter if all boys who aren't mutants and friends are the same!"

"She hasn't tried to pummel Mus yet"

"That goes back to his if all boys who aren't mutants or her friends are fair game statement, he's both and is strangely even with her"

"I don't want her hurt or abandoned..."

"Sol, take a look at them"

Solaris leaned his chair back and watched Light and Hayden, "Mmm?"

"Nothing bad is happening"

"Plus, all three of us have scared him to not do anything dumb"

"See, everything will be okay"

Solaris chuckled, "I suppose you are right"

"Yes!! Cinnamon roll buys us dinner!"

Light chuckled as she looked at Hayden, "Aww"

"Fine with me, when do I have to buy it and where from?"

"Mr.Murakami's! Right now!!"

"Okay, okay! What do you all want?"

The teenagers looked at each other and nodded agreeing mentally.

"Pizza gyozas!!"

"Okay, pizza gyozas coming up!" Hayden tried getting up but suddenly he couldn't. "What the?"

"No." Light transformed into her snake form and wrapped herself around him.

"Ooh, I see you finally figured it out Light, aww!"

Light hissed at them, dragging Hayden back to the couch.

"Ooh, um.. Karai?"

Karai looked at the two, "Aww" She then realized what Solaris would do, "Oh no"

"What is it?"

"Um... Nothing!"

"Yeah, it's nothing!"

Solaris stood up then spotted the young couple and gasped, "No!!"

"Honey.. Honey, breathe br-!"

Solaris marched over to the couple, "Step away from my daughter!!"

"Dah!!"

Light hissed at him, "Try me."

To which Solaris debated his options and calmly said, "I'll take my chances. Get away from my daughter!!"

"Light, either I die or you let me go! I've seen what your dad can do, please"

".. finne."

"Thanks, Honey" Hayden stood up, "How about you come with me?"

".. I'd like that"

Hayden and Light held hands, smiling as they walked out of the lair.

"Aww!"

"Okay, that's kinda cute"

"I see someone's finally okay with sap"

"Shut the hell up if you wanna live."
