"We need you! Don't hurt yourself too much!"

"..." Lena pulled out her cracked phone and pressed a phone number.

"Hello?" Phillip said, confused.

"Phillip... Can you meet me at the hospital on 88th street? If you need to know, call the social worker."

".. I'm bringing the others"

"Okay, bye." Lena hung up and called another number, she put it on her ear, "Ms.O'Neil?"

"Hey Lena, how's everything going?"

"Can you pick me up at my foster house? I think I need a new one..." April's heart broke when she heard Lena crying on the other line.

"Yeah, send me the address.. Do you need to go to the hospital or get some food?"

"The hospital... I'm sorry to bother you"

"You aren't bothering me, I'll be right there!"

"Thank you... See you in front of the building." Lena climbed down the fire escape and grabbed her stuff, she put them in a duffel bag then climbed down. She held her pipe as she slowly passed out on the sidewalk as she sent the address to April.

A few minutes later

"Lena, I'm here" April said, looking out the window for her.

April didn't see her, so she thought Lena just played another prank on her until she saw Lena on the floor, bleeding.

"Lena?!"

April ran out of the car, she picked Lena up and put her in the back seat before Lena's foster mother ran after them.

"B***h!! Get back here with my money mak.. I mean my daughter!!"

"She's not coming back with you!"

"Ugh..." Lena slowly opened her eyes and she saw a blurry April, "Mommy...?"

".. hey Lena.. I'm taking you with me, we're going to the hospital, okay?"

"Okay..." Lena passed out again, holding onto April's hand.

"Your gonna be okay"

An hour later

"So.. Lena's in foster care.. her foster parents only used her for money from the state.. they abused the hell outta her and didn't wanna tell anyone so she wouldn't be put back in the system.. is all that right?"

".. mmm hmm"

"God, how did the social worker not notice all the signs?! That is their job for god's sake!" April growled, as she paced back and forth.

"The parents are some good fakers when either I come over or the social worker.."

"So.. we're gonna go beat them up, right?"

"Ray!"

"What?! They deserve to die!!"

"I agree with Ray! No one messes with Lena!" Phillip and Ray fist bumped each other.

"Yeah, so where do they live?"

"Mus, really?!"

"What?"

"You should be stopping them!"

"Stopping them, my a$$! You don't ever mess with family!"

"Who are you... Dom Torreto" Lena said, with her voice all raspy and bandages over her head, laughing at them.

"Lena!"

"Hey ladies, and Ray" She snickered as she sat up.

"Lena, are you okay?" April asked, walking up to her.

"I'm fine... Can me and O'Neil talk... Alone?"

"Yeah, let's go"

April and Lena were alone as everyone else left the hospital room, Lena held her knees to her chest.

".. how long?"

"A couple a months, before it was just weird christain households, and... halfway houses"

"How weird are you talking?"

"They thought of me as a doll, they hated when I cut my hair, bleached and dyed it"

".. what happened to your parents?"

"They owed a bunch to some gang members... They were home, I wasn't, I did my best trying to invade foster care until the cops found me"

"Because the foster care system is f**ked up.. you are coming home with me"

"What? You're pregnant and engaged... I can't do that to you"

"Then I'll talk to him about it, I don't care! What I do know is that you aren't going back in the system just so you could end up in a potentially worse house or f**king dead!!"

Lena froze, then nodded, she started crying again but this time April hugged her. It has been so long since she has felt a mother's love.

"Big bro, are you gonna introduce aunty to mama?"

"Denny, I'm Phillip's girlfriend" Angelina said, smiling nervously.

"I know, but big bro doesn't really warm up to other girls, unless they're really special! I think mama will like you!"

Angelina smiled and ruffled his hair as Phillip blushed madly and smiled at her.

"H-How about I get you two some candy?"

"Candy!"

"I would like that"

"Okay, come on!"
