The morning after

Leah stayed in her room the whole day as well as Aubrey, both of them didn't come out for different yet same reasons.

"So.. both of them got their hearts broken and they haven't left their rooms?" Remus asked Ray and Sera.

"Yeah, look Princess, I understand but Nerdette? She didn't even show any signs of crushing on Tony" Ray explained.

"It's so sad! I don't like seeing them sad.."

"Me either but we can't do much, we have to let them heal on their own" Remus explained.

"How are you so wise about heartbreak?"

"Let's just say being the "quiet kid" has its perks"

The turtles didn't know what to do besides wait and call in the only other girls they know. April, Karai and Shini.

"So.. your children experienced heartbreak and you all need help?"

"Pretty much, look they won't talk to us probably because of how I reacted to Leah but please" Leo pleaded.

"Can I go talk to Aubrey?" Shini asked.

"Sure, her room's right there" Donnie said and pointed to her room.

"Why don't I get them some sweets? That always helped me!" April suggested.

"I'll talk to Leah"

"You've experienced heartbreak?" Mikey asked his older sister.

"I didn't really date but I know how it feels to be betrayed" She explained as she knocked on the door.

"Go away..." Leah said, muffled.

"It's just me Leah, can we talk?"

"No, you're just gonna tell me how stupid I was"

"Actually, I'm gonna tell you the opposite"

"... Doors unlocked."

"Thanks" She said, opened the door and walked into her room.

It looked like a mess, tissues everywhere, blankets a mess, a water lily was cut up into tiny pieces.

"Hey Lele" she said and sat on a chair by her desk.

"It's Leah. Not Lele." She sniffles underneath the blanket.

"Look.. I didn't experience heartbreak.. but I do know what being betrayed feels like."

"You don't get it... I ran to him and left my team to suffer Tony's rampage, his father got mutated because of us and I left... for a boy that didn't even like me..."

"Your dad left for me when your uncle Mikey was hurt"

She poked her head out and Karai could see how red and puffy her eyes were.

"He... did?"

"Yeah.. I was evil but I became good, which is a long story in itself, but! When we were teenagers, and before he met your mother, he met me and I told him to.. meet me at a high rise and we were gonna steal something"

"He did that with me, we were going to steal the blades of Oroku Saki, I intertwined my fingers with his so that he would stay with me and he did"

"Did he pin you to the ground and one of your friends came and saw?"

".. maybe.. why?"

"Once again, I did the same thing with your dad! He tried to tell me to stop being evil, I pinned him to the ground and your uncle Raph came! He said, and I quote!" She started and mimicked Raph's voice. "What are you, friends with her?! We're out here risking our necks and you're up here holding hands with the Foot!"

"Ray said I was making out with him and it didn't help because after that I fantasized about kissing him and-" She turned red as a tomato.

"Don't worry, it could be worse"

"How worse? I imagined us getting married and having kids"

"How about imagining you two doing the nasty"

"Don't say it like that!!" Leah threw a pillow at her.

"I'm sorry! But, when you get heartbroken or b-"

"Stop it! He broke my heart, it just proved I need to learn how to care for myself! I love him and I always will but I'm young and foolish and..." She started crying again.

"Listen to me when I say this, boys and men can be stupid and jerks. But when they do act like that, you can only bounce back, get stronger and make him miss what he could've had." Karai said and wiped her eyes.

Leah smiled and hugged her tightly. She hugged back and smiled.

"Now, I think you need to go eat."

"In a minute"

"Aubrey?"

Aubrey didn't answer, Shini just heard sniffles from outside.

"Hey, can I come in?"

"Y-Yes" Aubrey spoke quietly. She opened the door and walked inside.

The room wasn't a total mess, it was surprisingly clean except the trash can full of tissues.

".. I heard about your heartbreak," Shini said and sat down.

"He was just a friend... It's alright for friends to feel like this?" She looked up at her, she had anime girl tears and looked absolutely adorable.

".. did you like him?"

"Maybe? No? Yes? Oh! Emotions are so confusing"

"I know how that feels"

"You do?"

"Yeah.. it's a pain in the a$$.."

"I'm doomed..."

"What makes you say that?"

".. I guess being inexperienced with romance and.. losing him hurts.. so"

"You're just confused about how you feel.. and being upset about Tony doesn't help much, does it?"

"no.."

"Ah.. I see"

".. what about you?"

"What is it?"

".. How did you get hurt from heartbreak?"

"There was a man I met and dated before I met Raz.. he was good, but he cheated on me and cheat just means he thought that I wasn't enough so.. he decided to have someone else, without me knowing"

"Oh.."

"It hurt.. because I thought he loved me.. I did cry and not leave my room for a day and Karai decided that I needed to stop being sad over men and took me out to have fun"

"Is that when you meet Uncle Raziel?"

"Almost.. two weeks after is when I met him.. he was in front of me, getting a drink. I was about to pay for my drink but the cashier told me the guy in front of me paid for it.. I went after him, thanked him and we talked"

"Aww, Papa won't tell me much about how he met my mother"

"Well.. I think your dad's still hurting over what had happened to her.. give him some time, I think he'll open up"

"Really? But... What about Tony?"

"Give him some time too.. this happened to April. She said, the guys accidentally mutated her dad, she took some time away from them, they made retro-mutagen and they fixed him."

"Okay, so I should move on?"

"Mmm hmm! You'll feel better"

"Thanks Aunt Shini, I feel so much better" Aubrey smiled and hugged her. She hugged back and ruffled her hair.

"Now come on, I think you need to eat something"

"Of course! I am hungry!"

As Karai, Shini, Aubrey and Leah left their rooms, they noticed the living room was empty. They looked around for the others, until they checked the dojo and saw Ray and Sera, sparring against their dads with Remus sitting on the floor, next to Leo and Donnie, watching them.

"Hey, did I miss anything?" Leah walked into the dojo with her hair up, holding it is the hair clip Remus gave her.

"Nope, you two feeling better?"

"Much better" Aubrey moved her hair out of her face, to show her smile.

"That's good!" He said and smiled.

"Hey, Leo, I've got an idea! Time out Ray"

"Fine."

"What is it Raph?"

"Well.. how about we spar with the newbie, all four of us, Leah's giving him private lessons.. how about we see how he's doing?"

"Hmm.. it does sound fun"

"Uncle Raph, take it easy on him!"

"I'll try!"

"What are we doing?" Donnie asked.

"You'll see"

"Remus, you don't have to do this! They just wanna show how tough they are" Leah tried to talk him out of it.

"No, it's fine, they wanna show off, let them" he said and shrugged.

"Ooh, cocky aren't you? Hey Mikey, you wanna go first?"

"Why me!!"

"Remus! Uncle Mikey is known as the trickster, you'll see in a moment'

"Oh?" He said as he and Mikey each got into a fighting stance.

Leah looked nervously between the two of them.

"Hajime!"

Mikey threw a smoke bomb which got Remus confused for a moment. But it quickly wore off as he heard him coming from behind him, so he moved over to the side and left his foot out. Mikey doesn't see it and trips.

"He got you good, pop-sicle!"

"Yes, he did! Good job Mus!"

"Thank you, see Leah" He gave her a smirk which made her roll her eyes.

"Sure Mus, good luck against Uncle D"

"What is he known for?"

"He is known as the warlock, for some reason he got that nickname from Aubrey's mother"

"Interesting"

Donnie didn't get into a fighting stance, he stood still.

"Are we gonna make bets this time Coral?" Casey asked, watching from the doorway of the dojo with Karai, April and Shini.

"I am a lady, Casey. I do not play around in my bets, but yes we do, you will give me $100 if Remus wins against Leonardo" Coral spoke with a smile.

"And if he doesn't?"

"Then I will give you $100 and clean your filthy room." She batted her eyelashes trying to act innocent.

"Deal!"

"Hmm.. now I see it," Shini said quietly.

"Papa, please don't hurt him!"

"I'll try"

"I mean it!" She gave him a look.

"I'll try"

Donnie stood still as Remus charged at him but he moved before Remus could lay a finger on him, now Remus understands why they call him the warlock.

So, this made Remus get a little idea. He tries charging at him again but this time, he uses Donnie's height to his advantage.

"Again, most guys learn after the first failed attack." He spoke softly.

"I can see that"

"Then try again, that is how you learn."

"Hmm.. okay"

Donnie stood still and waited. He tried attacking him again. He dodged again. But only a smile grew on his face.

"What are you-" Donnie started but he felt Remus move closer to him, grab one of his arms and throw him to the ground.

"Ow."

"Damn brother!"

"Awesome Dork!"

"I'm sorry! I did not think I was that strong!" He said and helped Donnie up.

"You're okay, I'm just old" Donnie said and they both chuckled.

"Remus, that was incredible, I don't think I've ever seen a move like that!"

"Um.. thank you?"

"Yeah, how'd you do that!"

"I don't know.. I just tried doing what I did and it worked"

Aubrey moved his hair out of his face, "Hold still" She pulled out a hair tie and put his hair in a man bun.

"There, now you can see properly" She smiled.

"Thanks Aubrey!" he said and snickered.

"Heh, they were easy, me and Leo will be more difficult"

"Yeah, I'll bet"

"Take it easy, Chump! My dad is strong and powerful"

"Raph, don't kill him or hurt him too badly"

"I won't, I won't"

"Don't hurt him so much, dad"

"I won't!"

"Yeah right, Dada Raph!" Casey snickered.

"Oh shut up!"

"Alright, Casey, let them fight so you get entertained"

"Finne"

Ray looked at Remus, she never seemed to be impressed by anything he does so this was the perfect opportunity.

"Imma get some popcorn!" Mikey shouted and ran away.

"Come on scrawny, are you scared?"

"I'm not scared, I faced way worse than you"

"Impossible! What's worse than me!" He said, trying to attack Remus.

"Oh sir, you don't wanna know" Remus dodged his attack, what Raph didn't realize is that Ray has fought Remus before, he studied all her moves and since they're exactly alike. This was easy.

Just like with Tony's father, who was under the influence of a mind control device, he pinned Raph down to the ground in under the 3 minutes they were fighting.

"Whoa!! Ray, he absolutely destroyed your dad!!" Sera yelled.

Ray looked at her dad then at Remus, she smiled but even then it was a terrifying smile.

"Heh, guess he did"

"Ow! God damn!"

"Nice job, Chump." She gave him a thumbs up and then folded her arms back up.

Remus smiled, finally getting her approval but then came the last brother, the eldest, the most skilled, the leader. Leonardo.

"Karai, remember when you told me what you thought about him?" Shini asked her.

"Remus? Yeah.. why?"

"What are you two talking about now?"

"Just how you're gonna get destroyed, dear brother" Karai chuckled.

"Oh, I'm not!"

"I don't know, dad! Remus seems to be getting better" Leah smiled, at first made him smile but he couldn't get the image of Andrew out of his head.

"Hmm.. we'll see." His smile quickly turning into a frown.

"Are we gonna do this because I have to get to my part-time Job?"

"Well, how about we make it quick"

"Good enough for me" He shrugged.

"Oh, this is gonna be good! Popcorn?" Mikey asked. At this point, everyone else, except for Remus and Leo were outside of the dojo.

"Yeah!!" A union of voices answered except Coral, she had a worried look on her face, despite the bet she made.

"Something wrong Coral?" Karai asked her.

"Remus is going to beat him, I'm worried about how he will react... He already blames himself for not noticing Andrew, this will give a high kick in the face" She explained.

"Oh no.."

"But he has matured enough, I'm sure it will be fine"

"Let's hope your right"

"So, you've been an only child your entire life?" Leo asked him.

"Yeah, always have been"

"Interested in getting a girlfriend? Boyfriend?" he asked again, using this as a way to try and distract him. Remus saw right through him.

"Maybe? So?" he said, which only made Leo get more angry.

"Really? Like who?" he pressed, only for his response to be a shrug.

"There is a girl, but she's uninterested.'' He started catching on.

"Come on, why would she be uninterested?"

"I'm not flashy as... Andrew?" He smiled innocently which ticked Leo off.

"Not as flashy?!" He growled and tried to pin him to the ground but he was the first one landing face down on the mat.

"Andrew was a jerk, I don't know what Leah saw in him but she always has a way of sneaking into people's hearts" He smiled as he thought about their friendship.

He tried to help him up.

"Get off" Leo said, ignoring his offer to help him up and getting up by himself. "Why did you do that?"

"Do what? All I did was answer your questions"

"But you brought HIM up! The Liar, the cheater, the man who is not worthy to be a part of this family like you!" Leo realized what he said and covered his mouth.

A series of gasps were heard from outside the dojo, some of the faces paled, others just shook their heads in disappointment.

".. I'm not worthy to be in this family.. huh?"

"Remus, that's not what I mean.. It just slipped out.. I didn't-!"

"Oh no, you're right. You're just afraid of what someone like me would do to them, huh?"

"Remus, he didn't mean it like tha-" Leah tried to calm him down, she was about to place her hand on his shoulder but he smacked it away.

"Don't bother Leah.." Remus said quietly, trying to calm himself before he did something dumb. "Either way.. I should leave."

"No... No... No, I hate this part... It's Andrew all over again..." Leah mumbled to herself as Remus walked away.

He quietly walked out the dojo, grabbed his bag and left.

Leah looked at the ground, tears started flowing again. Leo tried to comfort her but she turned around.

"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" She shouted and ran into her room, slamming the door shut.

"Well.. she's not wrong"

"Casey, shut the hell up or do you want poison in your system."

"Sorry! But what exactly were you thinking Leo?! That girl lost the love of her life and her best friend!"

"I wasn't thinking, okay?!"

"Leonardo, how can you expect to be a ki... a good leader if you act like that!" Coral scolded him.

"I know, I screwed up! What am I supposed to do now?!"

"Go apologize to him! He deserves one"

"You two, Raphael! As I recall, you were being snarky as well" Coral pushed both of them out of the lair.

"How was I being snarky?"

Coral gave both of them a death glare which made them extremely afraid.

"Okay! Okay! We're going!" They shouted and ran away from everyone else.

Remus sat down by a pond and looked at his phone, he swiped through his photo gallery and saw how happy he was when he had friends.

"Heh.. just my luck"

"Whoa, they really did bring out your smile" Leo spoke from behind him.

"Yeah, it makes you look more like a happy dork"

"Raph"

"It's okay... what are you even doing here."

"We.. owe you an apology.. I'm sorry for what I said about you not being welcomed into our family"

".. your only saying this because you just want Leah to forgive you"

"Actually she doesn't even know I'm here, she kinda hates me"

"Ah.. I see"

"Look, I wanna say sorry too.. I was also being a piece of sh** to you when you didn't deserve it"

"... Am I a part of your family or just a burden?"

"Yeah, your.. you said you don't know who your dad is.. right"

".. that's right, why?"

"You can stick with us, we can try and give you some sort of a father figure" Raph said, acting just like Ray when they first met.

"Heh.. I think I'll like tha.."

Leo ruffled his hair and smiled at him. Then he noticed something and smirked.

"What are you looking at Remus?"

".. someone that would never date me"

They looked and saw a girl about his age, her hair was brown but dyed pink and purple, her skin was light brown, her eyes were brown, she was dressed in a strawberry pattern pink dress.

They looked at each other and smirked.

"You don't know that"

"Yeah, I do... she's just... perfect and I'm just a quiet dork"

"Hey, you don't act like.. you like her huh?"

"Mmm hmm.."

"Look, I acted the same way when I met my... wife," Leo said.

"Really?"

"Yeah, trust us when we say don't doubt yourself or be scared to talk to her.. come on we'll help you"

"Okay"
