As the five of them became friends, Karai was struggling with herself and the nearing future

Karai was walking around the old Foot Clan lair alone. She was sad about a lot of things. But one in particular kept popping back into her head and played on replay, over and over and over again.

".. who am I kidding, why did we come back in the first place.. oh wait.. they're gonna hate me right after I tell them."

She felt someone tap her shoulder.

"What is it?"

It was a ninja, "Master, the Hamato Clan have arrived."

"Good, show them to the dining room, tell them I'll be there soon"

"Yes master" The ninja walked away.

".. this dinner is gonna go to hell.. we'll be moving back very quickly and they'll never want to see me again.." she looked at herself in a cracked mirror and sighed. "Let's get this over with.."

Leo drained some green tea and waited.

"It's nice she invited us to dinner"

"Yes it was"

"Half her boxes aren't unpacked?" Mikey noticed.

"Maybe they just had a long day Mikey, don't worry about i-"

"Hey dorks, sorry I'm late" Karai started as she walked into the room.

"Hi Rai-Rai!"

"Hello Karai," Leo smiled.

"Who's ready to eat, foods almost done anyway" she explains and starts grabbing some plates.

"Something wrong Snakey?" Raph asked.

"No, definitely not, why?"

"Okay, what the hell is wrong Snakey?"

"Nothing.. why don't we start eating?" She asked, trying to get the food out before the chaos came out.

"That's a damn lie. What is wrong with you?!"

"Raph, enough! Seriously Karai, what's wro-!" Leo attempted to break the pair up but Karai snapped.

"I know the person who made all of your lives hell! I know who did it and it's all my f**king fault alright?!" She snapped.

The guys froze, it became quiet. So quiet that you could hear the rain drop.

".. Rai-Rai? What are you talking about?"

"... I-!"

"Okay sister, you need to do some explaining. Because you can't say shit like that and not explain yourself!"

So she started to explain everything. As she was explaining, Light and Akemi were listening in from the top of the staircase.

"You're gonna move back.. if they hate aunty?"

"Yeah, that's mom's deal, they hate her and I hate my cousins, we're moving back, they don't hate her and I.. actually like them, which isn't happening, we're staying."

"Sounds like you and aunty got into another argument again.. why can't you two get along?"

"It's complicated."

"Doesn't seem that complicated.. why don't you two get along?"

"We have different views in... everything! I want to expand our empire but she wants to keep it in the family which doesn't help if your family hates you"

"They don't hate us if they don't know us! There has to be something you two can agree on!"

"Akemi, you're too optimistic. I'm telling you, there's nothing we can agree on. Now shush, I wanna hear them get mad, I'll be right and we can go back home."

Leo stood up and walked over to Karai, then hugged her. Karai froze at the sudden touch coming from her brother.

".. what the hell is this? I don't.. why aren't you upset?"

"I am upset, at the person who did this but what makes me more upset is that you still think it's your fault, Solaris has been telling me what you've been feeling"

Leo pulled away and smiled at her while she froze in shock, "I think we've matured enough to handle it, so tell us"

Karai paused for a moment, looking for any sign that they were angry at her, there wasn't any, there was more compassion than any other emotion.

She looked down then finally began to open her mouth, ".. it was my sister.. she now likes to be called Metal"

Raph looked down, making his hands into fist until his knuckles turned white, well at least a lighter green.

"Continue, Karai... We want the full story" Leo spoke softly, giving her a chance.

"Okay.. when I was still evil and younger.. Shredder wanted to have a boy to kinda give me 'a normal family' so he tried to adopt one but accidentally adopted another girl. Either way, I was happy! But you know how he manipulated me into believing.. you four and father were evil?"

The four brothers nodded, afraid of what they would hear as an answer.

"He manipulated her for the same reason.. and after you all saved me, I was trying to help her.. break her outta his control. And during our final visit back here together, I thought I managed to get her to come to our side! I thought.. I thought she'd stop believing him like I did.. but she said she wants to take her revenge on all of you because of Shredder dying! She asked me to join her.. and I refused.. we got into a screaming match and she said 'I HATE YOU! YOU AREN'T MY SISTER ANYMORE! JUST LEAVE AND NEVER COME BACK'.. that's when I couldn't save her anymore.. and after that night she said she'd leave Solaris alone and the guilt will always haunt me.. it was her perfect revenge"

Donnie took a step back, turned away from them and punched the wall, leaving a dent.

The other looked at him in shock, then he spoke "It wasn't your fault, I learned that some people just aren't meant to be saved"

".. for once, the nerd is right. Karai, you don't need to keep all of it to yourself. It looks like you're going to explode" Raph said.

"Yeah, sis! I miss my cupcake, everyday but I knew she wouldn't want you to feel this way" Mikey said, he gave her a comforting smile.

"I TOLD YOU!" They heard a certain child yell.

"SHUT UP AND GET THAT STUPID SMUG GRIN OFF YOUR FACE!!" Another certain teenager yelled.

"NEVER!!"

Leo looked at Karai who was on the verge of killing her own daughter.

"Um.. we still wanna eat?"

"Nope."

Leah was looking out the window and at the city, surprisingly for the 15th year she's been alive, she's never once seen a sunset.

"Boo!"

Leah screamed and nearly fell out the window. The person who scared her snickered and started laughing.

"Gotcha"

"You are such an immature, little..." Leah turned around and nearly passed out when she realized who she was talking to.

"Hmm?"

"Not funny, Aunt Karai"

"Yes it was!"

Leah smiled and then stared out the window, "This is a sunset?"

"Mmm hmm.. it's beautiful, isn't it?"

"Yeah, dad said mom loved seeing the sunset, it reminded her of how beautiful the world is"

".. I assume you and your dad are close?"

"As close as you can get, but he always holds back on telling me things... I don't even know what she was like, all he does is tell me she was strong, passionate, fearless, and beautiful"

"Well.. did he tell you the truth about how she really died?"

"Yeah, but I want to know more about who she was, because everytime I ask Coral she always covers her mouth like she can't talk about it"

".. they probably act like that because they're still traumatized."

"Maybe, I just want them to be okay, you know?" Leah smiled softly.

".. I'm part of the reason why they're still traumatized."

"Oh, I know why you feel that! You talk really loud when you're upset" Leah looked at her and hugged her tightly. Karai gently patted her shoulder.

"How do you know?"

"Because, for the longest time I felt the same" She smiled and walked away. Karai stayed quiet and looked back out at the sunset.

"Oh Novo, your daughter is a real piece of work"
