"Dad, can I ask you something?" Leah asked.

"Of course, Leah" He set pancakes and bacon on the table while his friend, Coral continued making breakfast.

"I was wondering, do I have any cousins, uncles or aunts?" Leah questioned.

Leo froze, as he stared into the floor while Coral gasped and stopped cooking.

They say life can prepare you for some moments, he definitely wasn't prepared for this one.

"Um.. why are you asking?"

"I was looking through some old boxes and I found this burnt photo of you with 3 other mutants and a rat muta-!" Leo snapped.

"Why did you go through those boxes?!"

"I just wanna know, you stick me to this same routine every. Single. Day! You spend every night looking through those photos and staring at that stupid green cane!" Leah exclaimed, she gritted her teeth.

Soon, the room was silent. If you dropped a pin, they would hear it.

Coral looked up and noticed Leo walking towards her, veins popping out of his forehead.

"Sir, please" Coral said as she tried to calm the situation.

Leah became paralyzed with fear as her father walked towards her, she's never talked back to him before.

"Listen to me because I'm only saying this one time. Don't go through those boxes again. I will tell you, just not today."

"Yes Father" Leah said.

"Now, let's finish breakfast, shall we?" Leo said, sitting back down and continuing with breakfast. As if what just happened with Leah, never happened in the first place.

15 cold minutes passed by as Leah began to train.

"You can't hide them from her forever, she's turning 15 today, you promised me that you would let her know" Coral said.

"I know.." he said and sighed. "Where do I even begin? Oh these are your uncles, aunts, and cousins that I've hid from you for 15 years? Yeah, not a good way to start the morning."

"But a good way to join you four back together, I see you every night trying not to call them, but you are stronger than you know" Leo looked away.

"Stop fighting it, let them come home"

".. hey Leah?"

"Yeah, Dad?" Leo opened the door to his room

"Come inside, I have to talk to you"

Leah walked into his room nervous, then saw a mantle of photos, she walked closer and analyzed every photo. Most of them were when she was younger and more present but 2 caught her eye.

One of them was a photo of her as a baby with her father and was she assumed was her mother but that half was torn apart.

The other one was a photo of her father, he looked like a teenager, with 2 humans, a boy and a girl, and 3 other turtle mutants.

"I don't understand"Leah turned around and looked at her father while she was holding the picture "Who are they?"

Leo walked over to her, slowly which was unusual especially for Leo.

"Leah.. the first picture is of me.. and your mother. Her name was Novo."

"You never told me her name before..."

"I know.." he inhaled deeply, sighed and continued. "The second picture.. is of me as a teenager.. with my younger brothers, their names are Raphael or Raph, Donatello or Donnie and Michelangelo or Mikey." He said and pointed to each of them as teenagers.

"You have brothers? Wait ... I have uncles? three uncles?"

"Yeah.. I have brothers.. and a sister, anyway, these two are" he started but Leah stopped him.

"Where are they? Do I have cousins? Aunts?"

"Actually, yeah, you have three cousins.. a few more uncles.. and two aunts."

Leah gasped then she started crying. Leo started to become concerned.

Then she smiled and with tears in her eyes, she said.

"We're not the only ones... We have a family"

Leo just smiled, with tears in his own eyes and hugged her.

"Yeah.. we have a family."

Leah hugged back with tears in her eyes.
