5: Arguing

EUGENE crossed his arms. There was no way he was letting Rapunzel eat that flower. He couldn't let her get kidnapped or killed!

Rapunzel stared at him. He knew she was expecting him to give in--he always did if she stared at him long enough. But he refused to let her win this time.

"Eugene."

"No."

"Please?"

"No Rapunzel!"

He was thankful that everyone except the four original guardians left to talk about Dargo, or whatever his name was. It gave then the opportunity to talk--more like argue--about this.

"But they need me!" She explained.

"They said they could get someone else to do it," he tried persuading her.

Rapunzel frowned. "That's just it...I don't want just anyone filling my place. Now that I remember what happened, I need to do it again. I need to feel like I'm helping."

"You're a princess. Someday you'll be a queen and then you can make your difference and help people. Just give it time."

She shook her head and he groaned.

"Please," She close to him, pleading with her bright green eyes, "I have to do this. They can't defeat Drago without me."

MERIDA sighed. "Alright, Hiccup, who is dis Drago guy?" They were in in the living area of their suite. Astrid and Hiccup were standing in front of the fireplace so as to talk about their new enemy easier. Jamie sat on the couch next to Merida. Elsa was sitting in a chair far away from Jack--everone could tell she feared burning him with her new powers. Jack was staring at her from another chair. There was still no sigh of Rapunzel and Eugene.

Hiccup glared at her, crossing his arms over his chest. "We should wait for Rapunzel and Eugene."

Merida groaned and leaned further into the couch. "Dey're probably makin' out in the hallway, or something. Just get on with it, I'm tired of waitin'!"

She half expected for Elsa to scold her. But in her current condition, Elsa didn't seem as if she was up for doing much of anything at the moment.

Jack frowned, noticing this as well.

"How 'bout we give it five more minutes?" Jamie suggested, trying to get the attention off of Elsa.

"Ya can at least tell us what he looks like!" Merida whined.

Hiccup looked as if he were about to explode, but Astrid spoke before he said anything. "Sure. Well, he's about six and a half feet tall and is muscular, but missing his left arm. He has tanned skin and long dark brown dreadlocks. His face has lots of scars and he always wears a dragon-skin cloak." She looked at Hiccup, "Did I miss anything?"

JACK ignored most of the obnoxious conversation by staring at Elsa the entire time. She stared back too, her face mirroring his concern and sadness.

He should probably be worrying over the fact that Jamie died, or their new enemy more then Elsa. But that had proven impossible at this point.

"You agree rite, Jack?" Merida blurted.

He stopped staring at Elsa to look at the red head. "Uhh..." Clearly he had no idea what she said before that, but Hiccup seemed to take it as a sign that Jack agreed with him--even though Jack still had no idea what was going on.

As Merida and Hiccup argued, Astrid and Jamie tried getting them to stop, and Jack zoned out again to watch Elsa bury her head in a pillow.

"Elsa please," He started softly.

Her newly tear stained face looked up at him with those haunting orange eyes. She violently shook her head from side to side, her panicked expression shattered his heart.

He wanted to stand up and wrap his arms around her. He wanted to comfort her. And he knew she wanted that too, but he would respect what she told him...to stay away.

She was right; she probably would accidentally hurt him. Though he truly didn't care if he got hurt as long as he was helping her. Unfortunately, if she hurt him it would hurt her.

This was a disaster.

Damn, Pitch!

The bickering between Hiccup and Merida grew so loud that he couldn't think anymore. His attention diverted from Elsa and now focused on the others.

Astrid and Jamie had long given up stopping the two, now sitting hunched over on the couch, watching them. They were fed up and so was Jack. The only difference was that Jack knew how to get them to stop.

Rolling his eyes, he stood up and slammed his staff to the ground. The entire floor was covered with a thick layer of ice--except for a two foot radius from where Elsa was.

"Are you two done yet?"

Hiccup slipped on the ice and knocked Merida's feet out from under her in the process. They tumbled to the ground and Merida let out a string of curses from on top of Hiccup.

"Why are you so heavy?" Hiccup complained as he pushed Merida out of his lap and stood up again.

Merida slowly got up after him, "At least I 'ave sum muscle, ya fishbone."

Just a Hiccup was about to say something rude back, Jack cut them off. "What happened to you guys?"

Jack--no, everyone--was surprised to see that the red head was about to cry. "Ask him!" She pointed to Hiccup. Grabbing her bow, she slammed the main door as she walked out.

"Care to explain?" Astrid questioned.

They all stared at Hiccup, even Elsa, curious by what Merida meant. But his expression was just as clueless as theirs.

"Uh...I have no idea what's going on."

RAPUNZEL didn't know what else she could do to convince Eugene to let her eat the flower. She had tried staring, crying, yelling, and even pretending to choke on something--he easily saw through that last one, but it was worth a shot.

It was extremely rare for them to get into arguments, but when they did, they fought nasty.

"I don't know what else I can say for you to let me do this?" She shouted.

Eugene softened, defenses slightly dented. "Is this really what you want? You want to go galavanting around saving the world from dictators who will surely crush anyone that gets in their way?"

She gasped, "Yes!"

"Then I'm not going to let you do it without me."

Hello Guardians!

Okay, so I apologize for this taking so long (three weeks), but a certain someone pissed me off with their comments so I didn't want to write for about a week. I'm also sorry that it's shorter than my last few chapters. On a happier note, @_Why_would_YOU_care 77 's story "I Won't Go Back" has been posted in my works but "Don't Fall For The Enemy" is going to take a while yet :/

That was like some crazy trust exercise,
PrincessSelene04
