[Part 1: Return]

In Stohess district, the pair of Mina, and Annie sit staring each other down, a moment later, Hitch enters the room joining them with a smile on her face, and a chuckle in her voice.

Hitch Dreyse chuckles as she descends the steps. "Well... you called it, he's here."

The door opens and standing at the top two men, Miche Zacharius, and Southern Section Commander, Marcel Smith. "Mina." He makes his way down the stairs and hugs Mina before a moment later he turns and comes face to face with her. The pair lock eyes. Annie & Marcel. "Annie..." Marcel mutters.

Annie stares at Marcel. "Marcel."

"I Uh, I guess... I should start with an I'm sorry." Marcel mutters.

"No, you don't need to. I was able to hear everything." Annie says bluntly. "I need to know, was Eren serious?"

"He only got this far because I failed to kill him when working with Pieck and Maggath." Marcel admits.

"You worked with Pieck?" Annie asks.

"Sort of, loose alliance."

Annie shrugs at his nonchalant reply. She smirks for the briefest of moments before grabbing his shirt and pulling him into a kiss. He tenses not sinking into the kiss but not pushing her off. When she releases the kiss she sighs. "I've waited 4 fucking years to do that again." She says with a small smile.

"I... uh... you know..." Marcel stammers for a brief moment. "Same, honestly." He says chuckling. Marcel smiles somewhat taking a step back falling into a chair he brings his hand to his face his mind flooding with dozens of thoughts. "Look... I'd love to sort this all out, but there's more pressing matters to deal with.

Annie nods. "Yes, I know."

"But, we can talk later, after we make our way to Ragako." Marcel says.

"Ragako?" Mina asks.

"From what I heard, Falco is the current Jaw Titan, he ate Porco during the fighting in Shinganshina. Connie took him, he's gonna feed him to his mother. We need to rescue the kid. For now, the three of us are Squad Marcel until we link up with Marco and Jean. It'll be nice having the squads second best back, Annie.

Annie shrugs taking her own seat and leaning back in it. "Let me get some rest first." Annie says.

"You've had 4 years to rest in that stupid crystal of yours." Hitch retorts.

Marcel stands. "I'll gather extra ODM gear for you, Annie. Mina get Miche and gather the horses." Marcel orders.

[Part 2: On The Run]

Meanwhile in Shinganshina, Marco is on the run, he hides in buildings carrying a wounded Niccolo, as Jean and Onyankapon stay by his side carrying a gagged and bound Yelena. The pair killing any Jaegerist who gets too close.

"Damn it, I don't have the energy to transform right now, and if they use thunder spears we're all fucked." Marco says with no hidden annoyance.

Jean Kirschtein hums. "I know."

Onyankapon glances above a small outcrop of rocks. "We need to get out of here... we need to go to the harbor."

Marco nods. "I agree, if we can hold the harbor long enough for them to arrive, we can escape."

Jean looks around. "Then lets go!"

The four rush out of the building as Niccolo runs off on his own sticking to back alleys and hiding in buildings to try and make his way to Trost and Sasha. Marcel Squad however slowly make their way south, making quick moves from building to building, ruin to ruin avoiding Floch's forces. Meanwhile with Pieck she remains in her Titan form standing with her Maggath, Jase quickly made his own move and left the duo trying to figure out what to do when a voice calls out to them, Pieck turns ready to attack when the person yells to stop. Before them stands Moblit Berner, Hange Zoe, and on a small bed made of wood and hay, Levi, unconscious.

"Just don't eat me, okay? I'm completely unarmed." Hange says.

Levi Ackerman sits up. "My goal is to kill Zeke... Our interests align, just like they did with the brat." Levi stares at Maggath. "Theo Maggath, Pieck Finger."

Theo Maggath has a pistol drawn aimed at Levi. "Levi Ackerman. It seems you have the strength to stand against the nine titans. But how do you expect to dodge one of my bullets looking like that?"

"I can't dodge any bullets. But I'm presenting myself to an enemy in this sorry state." Levi says bluntly. "Shoot. Or listen. It's up to you."

"Marcel was right. We'll listen before we shoot. You said you'd kill Zeke... where is he now?" Maggath asks.

Moblit Berner brings his hand to his jaw and speaks ponderously. "My guess... is that he's trying to win over Eren so he can use his royal blood. We'll... win over the founding Titan."

Pieck Finger hums her main body leaving her Titan body. "Seems like you know it all, Titan Doctor Hange, and her fiancé, Moblit Berner. Even more than Marley. Have you seen this Founding Titan for yourself?"

"I know it's unbelievably large, and that it seems impossible to conquer." Hange says. "So... We just have to do this together... Let's combine forces. You get it, right?"

[Part 3: A True Soldier]

Marcel rides with the current rendition of Marcel Squad. As they ride, they all make haste to arrive at Ragako. The group arrives just as Connie places a blade to Falco's neck everyone turns as he's surrounded, but the blade to Falco's neck prevents anyone from moving in.

"Connie!" Marcel says jumping from his horse.

Connie Springer turns and now has his back to the Titan. "Shut up! I don't want to hear it! Don't say a word! You wouldn't understand!" He shouts. "You're gonna tell me it's better to keep him alive right?! And that I should give up on my mom!"

Marcel shakes his head. "No."

Connie's eyes widen. "Huh?"

Marcel stand straight. "I'll inherit the founder."

Connie's eyes widen. "What?!"

Armin's head switches back and forth between the pair. "No, that's not right, Connie. Marcel, what the fuck?!"

"We're gonna go after Eren." Marcel says bluntly. "Then, I'll inherit the founder, once I do, the first thing I'll do is turn every Titan into a human, and then... remove the ability from every Eldian to turn into a Titan, effectively, I plan to eradicate any Titan threat from the future."

Connie:p looks down laughing unsure as to why. "You must be crazy."

"If you don't believe me, that's fine, but don't kill Falco. He didn't kill anyone, he's been trying to keep Gabi from killing, failed but, he tried!" Marcel shouts. "Didn't you once tell me that your mother told you to be a great soldier? What kind of soldier throws a child into the jaws of a Titan?!"

Connie's eyes widen he slowly collapses on himself. A moment later a shell of Titan hardening forms around Annie's arms and legs and Connie's arms keeping the blade away from Falco.

"Who's missing, Marco?" Marcel says walking forward and placing a hand on Falco's shoulder.

"No one, we're all out. We just need to get him." Marco stands on a roof next to them with Jean & Onyankapon, also with them a tied up and gagged Yelena.

"Okay." Marcel says with a sigh. "Annie, Marco, Myself, Falco, Gabi and Armin will go." He says standing. "Three shifters, Gabi and Myself. Everyone else, search for Pieck & Maggath, If we got lucky Hange & Moblit will be with them, assuming they found them." He orders.

The group splits up with Jean leading the group headed for Pieck and Maggath, meanwhile Marcel and the others sneak into Shinganshina and to the building Gabi left Reiner at. After a few attempts to awaken him, Annie loses her temper and kicks him in the head. Awakening Reiner.

Reiner Braun looks up at Annie stunned. "Annie?" Afterwards he turns and looks over directly at Marcel.

Gabi Braun leans down and crouches over her cousin. "Calm Down, Reiner."

"Don't worry we're all on the same side." Falco says.

"There's no time to adjust Reiner, we need to go." Marcel says swiftly.

"Where?" Reiner asks.

Marcel turns away and opens the door. "To save your world."

[Part 4: A Tense Meal]

The group all head out with Marcel & Armin helping Reiner walk, with Annie ahead of them, Marco behind them, with Gabi & Falco. When they meet with the others Marcel smiles running up and hugging Hange and Moblit.

"I'm glad your both alive." He says pulling out of the hug.

"Yeah, same." Hange says ruffling Marcel's hair.

Marcel then turns and nods to Maggath. "General Maggath."

Maggath hums. "Marcel."

Marcel then smiles and waves at Pieck in Titan form. "Hi, Pieck!" Pieck does respond other than a hum in her Titan form. It's only then that he notices the staredown between the rest of the scouts and the Marleyan military's remnants. Marcel, Marco, and Hange are the only ones not participating.

Hange sighs. "Instead of staring each other down... could some of you help us with the food?"

Maggath huffs staring at Jean. "To think we'd all be here taking a meal together after all the time we spent trying to kill each other." He turns and takes a seat. "It's interesting. What changed your mind? You know you'll get the world you want if you just let Eren Jaeger go. That heaven for you island devils."

"We were so close to keeping the brothers from coming into contact. If only you hadn't helped them out." Marcel says softly his gaze focused on Mikasa.

"None of us want genocide, you know this Marcel." Hange scolds.

"So you're saying you finally seeing who's side justice is on..." Maggath says loudly.

Jean scoffs. "Justice? We're you talking about... justice? You?" Jean's anger rises flashes of friends lost run through his mind. "So we're the bad guys for fighting against the titans your people kept sending over to us?! Listen up!" He roars at Maggath. "The reason we fought as hard as we did is because we didn't want to be eaten alive by titans! And you're over there saying that's something only devils will do?!"

Marcel turns and places a hand on Jean's chest to try and calm him down. "Jean-"

"Yeah... you do look like devils to me. All our concerns about Paradis have come true, and now you're working on destroying the world." Maggath says staring at Jean. "This is the result of all your hard fought battles."

"Which only happened the way they did because you sent Reiner, Bertholdt, Nico, Annie, and Galliard to break our walls." Marcel says doing his best not show anger. "If Eren's mother hadn't been eaten when Bertholdt broke the wall, Eren wouldn't have done this in the first place. And yet we're at fault?" He says incredulously looking at Maggath. "You're the ones who backed him into a corner! With fucking Willy Tybur declaring war on us with the entirety of the world agreeing with him. Forgot about that didn't ya?" Marcel says gathering Gabi & Falcons attention. "The entire reason we attacked Liberio, is because that's where the declaration was made." Marcel says turning to face Maggath specifically. "If the declaration of war was made at Fort Slava we would've just destroyed the fort. Here's a question, how long are you gonna hide behind thousand year old corpses? They're dead, fucking get over it." Marcel says handing a bowl to Hange.

"At least you understand that your people killed ours by the millions!" Maggath says angrily.

"They're dead, they don't matter." Marcel sys coldly.

"So... you can kill him now?" Annie asks.

Marcel brushes some hair out of his face with a sigh. "Yeah. I can. I already said it. I'll inherit the founder. Then, I'll remove all titans from the world. Forever."

Mikasa Ackerman steps forward. "Killing Eren isn't the only way to stop him..." She says softly.

Marcel lowers his head with a sigh, his hair falling back into his face. "Mikasa... 4 years ago, when we outed Annie as the female titan, what did we talk about when we were down there?" He asks causing Mikasa to pause. "I told you that even though you didn't care for Annie, I loved her. I asked you what would you do if Eren betrayed us? Tell me, What did you say?"

Mikasa gulps. ""He wouldn't..."" she quotes herself.

"Exactly." Marcel stares at Annie while continuing. "I still ended up fighting Annie. The only way we stop the rumbling is by killing Eren."

Armin Arlert steps forward."We don't know. Not until we talk to Eren."

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you already talk to him?" Jean asks.

"If you do so again... what'll you do if he doesn't change his mind?" Marcel asks.

"I have two reasons to stop Eren. To protect Marcel... and because I don't want my father in Marley to die." Annie says.

Marco stands between everyone. "Can we... stop this? All of us." Marco says with some pleading. Everyone looks to the Warhammer shifter. As he stands between them. A few minutes later everyone is seated around the fire eating.

"We'll be relying on the Azumabito." Hange says truthfully. "According to Miss Kiyomi, there's a flying boat meant to observe the rumbling ready at the port. We can approach the founder using it."

Maggath scoffs. "I knew it... So the Azumabito were helping you behind the scenes."

"They and Zeke are how I infiltrated the Marleyan military. Shoulda killed Zeke when I had the chance though." Marcel says quieter as he finishes. "The real problem with this plan is figuring out where the hell Eren is. We'll run out of fuel in no time if we just fly around aimlessly."

Maggath nods. "That's right. We need to figure out where the founder has gone. It can be anything, but we need a lead."

"It's why we brought her." Marco says motioning to the silent Yelena.

Maggath walks over to Yelena. "Where is Jaeger heading first?"

"Why would I know?" She says softly.

"You're the one who offered Jaeger your knowledge of the mainland when he had none." Maggath says. "He has a path in mind for this rumbling of his. You should be able to make a guess."

Yelena glares at Maggath. "Bastard."

"Hurry up and speak, Yelena." Marcel says bored. "Jean, do you know what happened to Niccolo?"

"He's hiding out in the forests with Sasha's family."

"And Sasha?"

Jean shakes his head. "Still In Trost."

Maggath shouts at Marcel. "Hey, have you even been listening?"

"I couldn't care less what Yelena has to say. I think I have an idea anyways." Marcel says standing.

Yelena looks at Marcel. "Marcel. You once told me about a friend you had, Name was Loren right?"

"Yeah." Marcel says while handing Hange his bowl. "What of it?"

"Didn't you say Annie was behind it?"

Marcel hums. "Yeah, but I assume, considering what I know, that Captain Harms was behind it."

Reiner speaks quietly at first. "No, it was me who ordered it. Loren... overheard Bertholdt and I having a conversation about something he couldn't know. We were afraid of being found out... and we thought the best way to shut him up would be to have a Titan kill him." Reiner's eyes remain glued to the floor. "I... slammed him into a roof while midair. I held him down to keep him from moving. I was going to make Annie take of his ODM, but then Nico did it taking over the situation after knocking Mina unconscious. Loren was stuck there... until a Titan came from behind and ate him."

Jean's gaze slowly grows more horrified. "Loren..." he mutters before looking at Reiner and Annie. "Is there anything he said to you at the very end?"

"He said "We haven't even tried to talk it out yet."" Reiner quotes.

"That's it. That's it...!!" Jean cries out. "We haven't been trying to talk this out. That's why we've been fighting to the death with each other like this, isn't it." Jean says bitterly. "If we'd just talked to each other at the start we wouldn't be killing each other like this."

"Reiner... You learned this lesson from Eren back in Liberio didn't you?" Marcel asks.

Reiner nods. "Yeah."

"It's still not too late. We've all fought tooth and nail to be here. But at the very least... we're talking now, not fighting, huh." Marcel chuckles. "Who could've imagined it. That we'd be eating around a fire like this."

"I watched as the Titan ate Loren. And... I wondered why he was being eaten by a Titan." Reiner says still looking down. Hange perks up confused. "I flew into a rage after that and killed the Titan. Cursing it for what it did... to Loren."

"That's enough. You're saying the guilt messed with your brain right?" Jean asks.

"Don't forgive me... I really am... a worthless man."

"I said... that's enough." Jean says looking at Reiner.

"I'm sorry."

Jean leaps up and before Marcel can grab him he punches Reiner across the face. He continues to punch Reiner before his fellow members of Marcel Squad can grab him, Marcel, Marco and Annie grab him and try to separate them. Jean goes to kick Reiner but Gabi jumps in the way saving her cousin.

Falco rushes to Gabi's side. "Gabi! Are you okay?!"

Gabi speaks while sobbing. "I'm sorry. Our wish... was to slaughter all of you... on Paradis. For the world to accept us... and forgive us. That's why it was always our hope... for this island... for the devils to go away... And now... Mom, Dad, everyone in Liberio is going to be taken away because of it. I'm sorry." Gabi moves forward and drops to her hands and knees lowering her head to those before her as she pleads with them. "I know... just how shameless it is of me to ask, but... we need all of you to help us... please... won't you lend us your strength?!"

Falco joins her on the ground pleading. "Please? Stop the rumbling with us!"

"Please!" The two say in unison.

Jean takes a deep breath. "Let me go." Jean walks away as they do into the nearby trees out of sight.

"Will they shut up?" Levi says quietly.

"Happy to see you alive captain Shorty." Marcel says approaching Levi on his platform. "Seems you're getting shorter." The comment earns a 'tsk' from Levi. "You'll get your chance soon enough. You can kill Zeke after I inherit the founder."

Levi's eyes widen. "After you what?"

Marcel gulps as he sits next to Levi. "I'll eat Eren, then, I'll use Zeke to remove the Titan ability forever." The following morning Marcel & Marco leave early riding atop Pieck's back as Mina & Annie ride next to each other in the cart with the others.

Jean looks down not raising his gaze. "Gabi... Sorry for kicking you. You okay?"

Gabi nods startled. "Y-Yeah, it's okay. I'm fine."

"I see." Jean says a little relived. "Reiner, I'm not apologizing to you."

Reiner nods. "Yeah, that's fine."

Annie turns to Mina. "And me?"

Mina shakes her head. "No."nThe group in the back either smile to each other or stare at nothing as Pieck returns to them noticeably she doesn't have Marcel or Marco with her.

"It's the port." Pieck says as her main body exits the Titan. "It's occupied by the Jaegerists. They must've used a train. There are a bunch of soldiers with anti Titan gear on standby."

"Where are they?" Armin asks.

"Marcel is sending information to his spies within the Jaegerists to begin something he calls Operation Smith."

Jean shoots up horrified. "Operation Smith?!"

Falco turns to Jean. "What's that?"

Jean collapses to his own knees. "Operation Smith was a plan he formed secretly with Marco & I to counter the Jaegerists. "

Hange looks to Jean. "What does it do?"

"The goal of that plan... is for every spy we have to kill the nearest Jaegerist officer to them. Even if it means their own death."

Armin's eyes widen. "What?"

Annie hums. "He's far more violent then he was four years ago." Annie comments.

"Well you and your buddies being traitors to us didn't exactly help." Mina comments.

Annie nods. "Yes..."

"Mina, not now." Jean says.

Mina sits back. "Fine."

"The fighting at the Harbor between the spies and the Jaegerists will begin in an hour, that's how long we have to get there." Pieck informs them.

"Then let's hurry." Mina says. "He'll need all of Squad Marcel."

[Part 2: Operation Smith]

Marcel sighs as he and Marco secretly enter the harbor ahead of the main group and secretly kill over two dozen of the Jaegerists before using Marco's Warhammer ability to bury the bodies in crystals underground.

Marcel whispers to Marco. "Alright, we've lessened the load a bit, but our blades will get dull if we don't get out now." He looks around watching for others.

Nodding Marco whispers. "Agreed." Marco turns to follow Marcel before stopping and grabbing Marcel. "Wait, there's Jase."

Marcel grabs Jase and pulls him behind a wall the boy smiling as he finds his Commander and he salutes to him.

"I'm glad your alive sir." Jase says quietly.

"Look, Marco & I need to get out, we're activating Operation Smith here at the Harbor."

"Yes Sir. I'll inform the others immediately." Jase says beginning to walk away.

"Jase." Marcel says as Jase walks away.

"Sir?"

"After you inform them get yourself on the boat that's carrying the flying boat." Marcel orders.

"Sir?"

"With your skills, we'll need you."

Jase nods. "Yes sir." He walks away from Marcel as the pair of commanders sneak their way out and to the location where they meet up with the others and much to Armin, Mikasa, Connie, and Jean's surprise the two have blood running from their blades.

"You guys...?" Jean says stunned.

"We didn't kill anyone who supports us. Only Jeagerist." Marco says. "The plan will go off as soon one of our shifters transforms." Marcel adds.

Armin's eyes widen. "You mean."

"There's no way to protect the Azumabito and get a ship serviced in time without killing them. All of the spies I have in the Jaegerists know what this is." Marcel says s he cleans his blades and sharpens them. "Civil War. People die in war. Isn't that right, General?"

Maggath nods. "Yes."

"Marco will transform first, his Warhammer is perfectly suited for this. Armin, you and Connie will get any potential explosives off before hand." Marcel immediately takes the leadership role. "Everyone else who ain't a Shifter, they're job is to protect the Azumabito and get them on the boat."

Everyone agrees to the plan. Which starts with Armin & Connie entering the harbor, when plan A fails, Mikasa and Marcel hurry in the building and kill several of the Jeagerists with Marco transforming just outside the city being the signal. At that moment all out war breaks out as Marcel's followers begin fighting Jaegerists. Reiner & Annie join in soon after and with everyone's cooperation the Azumabito are loaded onto the boat with Mina and Moblit getting the ship running as soon as possible. Though, through the entire time spent fighting several friends from years past were killed. Samuel and Daz are killed by Connie, Marlowe tried to kill Floch with a thunder spear but he was killed by one of Floch's followers before exploding, Jase ultimately ended up killing his brother Jett, but, the fighting ultimately began to overwhelm the three shifters, that is until Connie, Marcel, Jean, and others entered the fray, easily dispatching of the Jeagerists and all of Marcel's followers force Floch to stop using Thunder Spears. Floch himself notices which ship is being defended the most and tries to launch a thunderspear at the flying boat but is shot by Gabi which sends Floch into the water. After that, breaking the rest were easy, the group leaving the port stayed the same, but Marcel's faction had control of the port. Marco ensured it'd last a while when he destroyed the train with reinforcements. Marcel carried Annie onboard, while Pieck carried Falco and Jean helped Marco, Connie and Mikasa both helped Reiner. After escaping on the ship everyone watched as Maggath along with Shadis sacrifice themselves to prevent any Jeagerists from taking a Marleyan ship that could've intercepted them.

After a while Marcel sighs as he stands on top of the ship when Annie punches him back tears and dread in her eyes. "I'm pretty sure I deserve that but may I ask, what for?" He asks holding back his pain.

"We're not going after Eren?"

Marcel shakes his head. "That wasn't my choice. Maggath & Hange decided that we'd go to Odiha. Or... rather it was the only choice left. There was no way to save Liberio... I'm sorry... I'm so... so... sorry."

Annie sits down next to some rails. "Then... I don't have any reason to keep fighting."

Marcel sits with her. "That's fine." Annie looks up to Marcel as he kneels down in front of her the pair now equal height. "I still don't know what I'd do if I lost you for good. If you don't want to fight anymore that's fine. But I can't give up. If I do then everything father fought for, grandpa Shadis, Nanaba, everyone who's dead everything they fought for would be meaningless then." Marcel grasps Annie's hand while staring into her eyes. "Wherever you decide to stay that's fine. I'll find you, and we'll live that happy life we talked about back then."

Marcel stands and then plants a kiss on the top of Annie's head before walking away and preparing for the final fight with Eren. That night they arrive at Odiiha finding it an empty ghost town. Once they make port Marcel along with all of the men work together to bring the flying boat into a hanger where the Azumabito can begin work. Once it's in the hanger Marcel orders the explosives on it be loaded into it. He overlooks everything in this area as Hange is in charge of interrogating Yelena. Marcel, Jean & Marco all work together to get the fuel for the ship. Just as they begin fueling a door opens nearby and shots ring out Marcel shoots his ODM gear at the attacker and it stabs into Floch as he pulls his wrist gear in he pulls Floch closer and in a swift motion cuts Floch in half.

Marcel's eyes widen finally recognizing the body. "Floch?" He mutters.

Hange runs over. "What? Did he really cling onto the boat all the way here?"

Onyankapon turns to Hange mortified. "He shot holes into the fuel tank! We can't fly like this!"

One of the Azumabito engineers turns to Onyankapon. .We can still manage to close them. Set up to weld! Anyone free check the engines!"

"How long will It take?" Marcel asks.

"If we use tin, then an hour-!" Everyone feels the ground begin to rumble. As Marcel & Reiner both head outside.

"The rumblings here!" Reiner shouts.

"Our Devil... is our... only-" Floch says softly.

Marcel doesn't let him finish as he grabs a Marleyan knife he kept on him, Floch glances slightly to the side and begins to smile as Marcel stabs it directly into Floch's head he does so several times mutilating Floch's face. By the end he's unrecognizable, brain-matter and his brain itself mixed with his eyes, snot,  look, muscles, bones. and tongue, like a gruesome, gory, bloody scrambled egg. Everyone else outside looks to the titans.

"Armin. Is there anything we can do?" Mikasa asks.

Armin shakes his head staring at the approaching rumbling. "No. this is it. I'll stay behind and slow them-!"

"No, not you!" Reiner interrupts. "You're the only chance we have at stopping Eren. I'll-!"

"You really think I'd let you?" Hange says interrupting Reiner. "We can't use up any more of our Titans' powers.  I led us all to this. I kept moving forward, even if it meant killing so many of my comrades. It's time I-!"

Moblit steps forward. "It's time we take responsibility for that." Moblit & Miche stand ready to fight, but Hange shakes her head. "It'll be you and I just like always, Hange." Moblit says.

"Sis?" Marcel asks as he walks out of the hanger seeing Hange walk past him.

"Marcel Zoe-Smith." Hange says turning to face Marcel. "I hereby appoint you as the 15th commander of the Survey Corps. And as my final order as 14th Commander, your sub-Commander will be Armin Arlert. Should you die Armin will be the 16th Commander. And that's that. See you guys later. Oh, right, Levi's your subordinate now. So work him to the bone, got it little bro?" Hange smiles hugging Marcel.

Marcel nods in the hug. "Of course. Sis... I love you." He says softly.

Hange speaks quietly in return. "I love you too, little brother." As Hange and Moblit walk towards the horde of titans Levi stands before them.

"Hey... four eyes, lackey." Levi calls out to the pair.

Hange stares at the impending doom. "You understand. It's finally here, you know? It's my turn. I want to look as cool as possible right now, so just let me go will you."

Levi puts his fists over the pair's hearts. "Devote... your hearts." He then walks forward away from the pair.

"Ha ha!" Hange laughs. "That's the first time I've ever heard you you say that." Hange & Moblit then launch into the air and use thunder spears and their blades to kill well over two dozen titans. As they fight the repairs are finished and then they hurry to get the boat into the air Marcel calls for his sister as after they kill another they start to light on fire, but with everyone out of the danger zone, the two launch high into the air and while burning into the inferno share a kiss as they begin to fall into the afterlife. Marcel watches a single tear escaping his eyes.

"Keep cheering me on, with the others." He says staring out the window at their falling corpses.

Meanwhile back at the former city Hange and Moblit open their eyes and shoot up.

"What about the flying boat?!" Hange shouts as she swiftly sits up.

"It took off." Erwin says staring into the distance.

"Huh?" Moblit asks.

"Hange, Moblit. You did your duty." Erwin says turning to the pair.

"Erwin... everyone." Hange says softly seeing everyone. "Oh. Really?" She asks with no doubt of sarcasm. "Do you know how much trouble I went through because you named me commander? That idiot Eren... and then Marcel."

"Ah, yes... it must've been a lot." Erwin says helping Hange stand. "We're here to listen."

Erwin & Shadis help the pair up. And after a moment Moblit grabs and kisses Hange who sinks into the kiss. With the scouts of the past all watching with smiles and some even cheering. Extra stands with the rest of the old Levi Squad, Nanaba with Gelgar and many of the others, However one person who has their back turned to it all is Erwin who stands next to Nile & Pyxis.

"So, you think he'll do it?" Nile asks.

Pyxis hums. "That kid is the culmination of all of our work."

"I know he can do it. He's special."
