NEW MEANING
I open my eyes, terrified, my hands clutching at sheets. The room was silent besides my heavy breathing and the beep beep sound you often hear in hospitals that indicates you're alive. I glanced around and took in the deserted, blue and white colour schemed hospital bedroom. Why wasn't I at home? Where am I? Who brought me here? Who am I? I started to ask myself questions. I try to get my head off the comfortable material embedding me but I feel a throbbing pain in my head. I relax my head back onto a bed. A man in a white coat stood before me taking notes whilst a lady and a girl sat down on plastic chairs, aghast and happy. It was hard to read their expressions. A nurse rushed into the room and whispered something to the supposed doctor before me and it looked urgent because he ran out the door. In a top and skirt covered by an apron is the lady. She leaned her head against a wall and I could see a sad glimmer in her eye. A crop top and pencil jeans were worn by the girl. The lady approached me sobbing tirelessly. The girl immediately rushed towards her and comforted her. I wonder what happened to them. Why was she crying? And who was she? The crying eventually stopped. The man in the coat came back through the door with a look as if he had seen a ghost.
"Hello Kyle" says the man whilst he looks for something in his coat.
" Who are you and why do you call me Kyle?"
"My name is Doctor Jeffrey Trainer" he says with a proud look on his face.
"Amnesia specialist and certified Doctor. "
"You didn't answer my question" I said with an annoyed tone"
" I called you Kyle because that is your birth name."
"My what now?" I asked confused. "So you are telling me that my name is Kyle". I laughed so hard at his joke. " Who would ever be called Kyle" I teased.
The doctor murmured to himself, probably saying: "This patient is going insane" as he put his hand into his pocket again, looking for something.
The doctor pulled a syringe and injected it into my wrist as quick as light. My arm felt numb, I didn't know what was happening, but felt woozy. I tried resisting but after a lost effort, I embraced the darkness.
I woke up in a straight jacket. It took me a moment to recollect everything which had happened recently. It was not my happiest memory. I woke up on a bed. I was in a small room by a call bell nailed onto the wall. Air conditioners line the opaque walls. A tiny camera is above the bed; I couldn't tell whether it was taking footage or whether it was out of power. A glass door stood before me. The Doctor, The girl and the lady were outside, looking through the glass. A writing on the door said 'Intensive Care Unit'. A nurse is before me, checking my blood pressure. She was dressed in a green latex shirt and pants, and wore latex gloves. She had a face mask on and her hair was blonde. After she checked my blood pressure, she left the room. Before she left I could hear her say "Begin test one."I got off the bed and walked around the small room. A platter of food was on the other side of the small room. What was I supposed to do with it? First off I was in a straight jacket, and second only my legs were free. This must be all part of the test. I backed away from the food and a voice from somewhere said " Subject is not touching the food. He seems to be resisting. Open the doors." I didn't know what an intensive care unit was but I was sure it was definitely not this. Keeping me here for some tests. When that door opened l, I planned to get out. Then, the door opened up. I ran through the door and shoulder tacked the Doctor and continued to run without thinking. I had to leave here quickly. I ran into a hallway. Jumping over beds and tables, putting my life on the line. "Get him!" shouted a worried voice. Soon both doctors and nurses where behind me. I ran to a corridor and it was a dead end. The only other route of escape is a window. I could hear footsteps closing in on me; I jumped through the window and kept on running. I looked back and the hospital staff ran back. I thought I had escaped but what I didn't know is that they were going out of the hospital until I heard footsteps again. I ran through the hospital's parking lot then through a row of bushes. I kept on running, my heart pumping. I felt like dying; I continued to run, but my luck ran out when I tripped over a stone and fell tumbling down a mountain top. I landed onto the ground and the light's went off
