Clementine's POV

  Me and Minnie were leaning on the railing of the ship as we talked to each other about ourselves. I had learned that she was scared to love anything again because of what happened with Violet.

  I told her how I had a crippling fear of uselessness. How I felt that all I did was get people killed. We opened up to each other in ways we hadn't to anyone before.

  We only stopped our conversation when Abel came by telling me Lilly needed me in her office. I made my way to her office and found AJ inside talking with her.

  "Oh good, Clem once we get docked I need you and AJ to scout the area. Check for any supplies and any people. Be careful please, I just got you back I couldn't handle losing you again." I smiled at Lilly.

  "Don't worry we will be safe, I'm a fighter now. You don't need to worry about me." Hearing this, Lilly let out a sigh before nodding and dismissing us.

  "So AJ what did you and Lilly talk about?" AJ smiled and answered. "We talked about you when you were little." He giggled. I rolled my eyes.

  "I'm not that old AJ." "Yes you are." We continued to talk until we reached the edge of the boat that was docking soon. Minerva was there.

  "Word around the boat is your the first out to scout area." She looked a bit uneasy. "Yeah but I'm sure we'll be fine." I said taking her hand in mine.

  While we were talking the ship was docked and the three of us made our way off the ship. Minerva still seemed uneasy about our departing. "Just... please be careful. I just got you I don't want to lose you."

  I didn't answer just smiled and leaned in to place a kiss on her lips to ease her. "I promise, I'm not going anywhere." A smile found its way onto her face.

  Minerva waved to me and AJ as we walked into the forest. Taking in my surroundings I made my way in the direction of the train station we crashed at.

  "Do you think some of the food survived the blast?" AJ asked looking at me as we made our way through the forest. "I'm sure some made it and I'm sure Lilly would appreciate some extra supplies." AJ nodded and we continued our journey in silence.

  Once we reached the train station we found it completely infested with walkers. "What are we gonna do about the monsters Clem?" I hummed to acknowledge him and started thinking of a plan.

  "Ok so here's what were gonna do, I'm going to ring the bell over there then we retreat to the forest and go around the back." I explained making AJ nod and we put the plan into motion.

  Ringing that bell was the scary part. Once we were able to get around back were no walker was we hopped in through the back window.

  "Alright AJ your turn, I need you to go down there and hand me the food ok?" AJ nodded and made his way under the floor boards. I grabbed a couple of duffle bags and began packing the food AJ brought up.

  Then I heard it. The front door opened. Getting my hand gun out I pointed it at the closed security door. A guy with dreads walked in. He stopped moving when he noticed my gun pointed at him.

  "Woah, we don't want any trouble we just need food." "Doesn't everybody." Then a blonde girl walked in. "Damn it." I heard her say when she noticed the gun. "Drop any weapons you guys got and I'll lower mine.

  Just then AJ popped his head up from the floor board with his gun drawn as well. They both nodded and dropped a chair leg with nails in it and a butcher knife. "AJ gun down." I said lowering my gun as he did.

  "Keep going AJ we need to get out of here before we're surrounded by walkers." He nodded and went back to get the food. The two people stood still not moving or talking. It stayed like that until AJ brought up the last bit of food.

  "Good job AJ." He seemed happy with the praise but tried to keep a straight face around the strangers. I grabbed three bags and handed AJ one. Making a split decision I dropped one of the bags next to the girl on our way out.

  We quietly moved without drawing more walkers and made our way back to the boat before the sun set all the way. On our way back AJ decided to ask a question.

  "Why did you give them a bag, we found them fair and square?" Looking down at AJ as we stopped walking I explained. "AJ some people aren't as lucky as us and don't have functioning groups, they needed a little help and we could help so why shouldn't we."

  AJ seemed to understand or I hoped he did. I didn't think I was doing that good with the whole parenting thing. We made it back to the ship.

  As soon as we stepped on the ship Dorian took the bags from us giving us a good job soldier before bringing the bags to Lilly. Even Abel who didn't like me told us good job.

  Me and AJ went into the room with all the bunk beds, the cabin I think it was called. There Minerva greeted me with a kiss and AJ with a high five. I left AJ and Minerva to change while I went to see Lilly.

  Once at her office I knocked and was called in. "Oh Clem good job getting the extra food." Was the first thing she said when I stepped in. I told her about the two people at the train station.

  "They might be a part of the school we're going to be recruiting at." Lilly mumbled to herself with that she dismissed me and told me to get some sleep.

  Deciding to take Lilly's advice I made my way to the bunks. AJ had climbed onto a top bunk and Minerva was laying on the bottom bunk under AJ. She turned her head to me and smiled when I came into the room.

  "Hey there pretty lady, why aren't you sleeping?" I asked making her blush and mumble something incoherent. I started to change into the sleeping clothes Minerva let me use, "I couldn't quite catch that Minnie."

  She sighed and waited for me to finish changing then stood up and walked up to me. "I can't sleep...would you mind um...I know we haven't talked about this but..." She trailed off.

  Taking her face in my hands I rested our foreheads together. "I have trouble sleeping alone too Minnie it's perfectly ok to ask what your asking." I reassured her and lead her back to the bottom bunk.

  This bed was small and made for one person so we had to be pressed against one another to lay down. Neither of us were complaining though. Minerva's body was warm and fit nicely against mine.

  A while passed when I realized Minnie had fallen asleep. I was being lulled to sleep by her soft breathing when she whimpered. I looked up to see her crying in her sleep. "S-Sophie... " I touched her cheek and started whiping her tears. She opened her eyes then made eye contact with me.

  "I'm sorry did I...was I talking in my sleep?" She seemed scared to hear my answer. I continued to hold her as I spoke. "I was already awake so don't apologize, and you talked a little but not enough for me to understand your nightmare."

  She started crying and babbling. Not knowing what to do I did what I usually did for AJ. "Hey take a deep breathe and talk when you can, it's ok we have time." I said in a gentle tone just like Lee used with me.

  "I'm a killer Clementine, I...they made me kill her...they made me..." Rubbing her back I spoke the words of wisdom Lee once spoke to me. "Hurting people doesn't make you a bad person, sometimes the only way to help someone is to hurt someone else." She shook her head and burried her face in the crook of my neck getting my shirt wet with tears.

  "No I-Lilly made me kill her...because she didn't like them...Lilly made me kill Sophie." Her body grew tense as she waited for me to react. I held her tighter.

  "Minnie look at me." She slowly moved her face from my neck to gaze into my eyes. "Just because you were the one who had to go through with it doesn't mean your the killer, Lilly is the killer here. And if Lilly is a killer then we need to leave, we can't let her use us like that." She started crying again before she could respond.

  "That's what Sophie wanted, to leave...so Lilly she..." Planting a kiss on her cheeks then her forehead I spoke again. "But Lilly won't kill me she wouldn't hurt family." Minerva smiled a sad smile.

  "We do need a plan though." Minerva's smile got a little wider and she kissed my lips before she told me her plan. "We can go to the school warn them, stop Lilly from taking them and stay there." "That's a wonderful idea, but for that we need to be rested, so lets get some sleep." I said before putting my head on her chest.

"Goodnight Clem." She whispered into my hair making me smile. "Goodnight Minnie." I said kissing her collar bone. She giggled and held me tight. I knew I needed to get her and AJ out of here, she can't handle anymore of this place and I was going to make sure she didn't have to anymore.

I can't stop writing this story like I literally sat at my table and just typed away on my phone instead of eating. Oops. But it be like that I guess🌈🌈👌👌
