My Soulmate
My mother told me the story of soulmates...
We meet in this odd place where our souls wander and then we meet each other. We promised to find each other once we get back to Earth and then we are together forever.
I had always thought that was how it would be. It was the thought that kept giving me something to look forward to.
When I met you... God... You were so pure. You were a literal angel on Earth.
Your raven black hair and your beautiful honey brown eyes.... Your pale skin had only heightened your beauty and your inner strength was equally attractive.
You were amazing, through and through. I knew that you were my soulmate from the moment you spoke to me.
You were something to admire, your whole being rivaling the greatness of anyone that I had ever seen.
Though, with great love comes great tragedy. Just like my mother, I had become a monster. I'm still not sure if it's a demon that I call my brother, Haneul, or if I just have something wrong with my mind. Either way, it ruined us.
I had hurt you so bad. I made you turn against your own brother. I made you think of me as your God. I scared my initials on your lower back and made you fully mine. I had kidnapped you and broke your mind to compensate for my own fragile mind.
I was so wrong and my every waking moment is full of regret. I don't really remember all of it, just what you tell me or I've seen. Still, I feel that is no excuse. I may not remember, but I still did it all.
You moved on fairly quickly, getting in a relationship with your friend Gyeong and leaving me alone. For that, I applaud you. You deserve so much better and I'm so glad that you moved on quicker than I did.
I still love you and my heart wrenches in heat break whenever I see that you love someone else. Whenever I see that my soulmate is disappearing quickly to someone else like sand in an hourglass, going from the top of the glass to the bottom.
Areum... You're my everything and you will be forever and always. No matter if I get a new lover, you'll always occupy my heart because you were my soulmate.
And that red String of fate may get tangled. But never broken...
A/N: Can you guess who's poem this is?
