If This Were A Game
If this were a game, like Mystic Messenger, I have a few ideas of what the mechanics would be.
Who would I play as?
Firstly, you all know that this is a second gen. story. So, the name MC is already taken for the first gen. MC. That made me wonder if I could give the MC a name if this were a game.
I had wondered for a while what you'd play as, almost as if I were a game developer working on a game, which I am not. Nevertheless, I came to a conclusion. I had taken a different approach to it. Something that I think has never been thought of in the dating sim universe.
You get to choose a character (ex: Laon, Jeaki, Eunha, ect...) and romance them with the character you'd like to. The characters that you'd be able to play as off the bat would be Laon, Gyeong, Eunha, and Jisu. You'd have to unlock Jeaki, Areum and Iseul for a number of reasons.
Those reasons include:
- Iseul is who starts the story off.
- You get to find out what happened to Areum in her own eyes. Not of her friend's, which may contrast differently
-As Iseul, you'd be able to find out that Haneul actually exists inside his mind
- Jeaki is the closest to Areum, meaning that you'll be able to find out more and get an exclusive look on just how much it effected him while playing as Jeaki.
- Playing as Jeaki also results in having many secrets uncovered that you may not have known about. Like how he saved Eunha's life multiple times or how he thinks of himself almost like the dirt at the bottom of his shoe.
There are many reasons why you'd have to unlock Areum, Jeaki and Iseul but I just named a few. They're like the deep story.
Will I be able to hurt these characters?
There may be an option to play as an actual MC. Generic looks and everything (not that I'm shitting on brown hair and brown eyes. I have both). Though, you can only do that if you're planning on killing them all.
You see, many things will happen once you kill at least one of them.
In this genocide, Haneul will make an appearance multiple times and even be able to talk to you directly. This could be the only way to romance Haneul, who is the demon that resides in Iseul's mind. He will come to you if you summon him. By killing these RFA members and saying his name, your wish will be granted.
Be careful that that's what you want, though. Haneul may just kill you himself just so you'd be with him forever. He might go another way and start possessing your mind, leaving Iseul behind. So just be careful when dealing with Haneul.
Depending on who you kill, you may have to fight with a certain character. Thing is, one or two of those characters may be possessed by thier dead family/friend/love intrest.
Like Areum. If you kill Jeaki before Areum, Areum will have full intent to kill you brutally and mercilessly. Dead Jeaki will know of this and literally send himself back as a ghost and start possessing her, fusing his otherworldly powers into her just to keep her safe.
That means she will have the ability to disappear, throw you against walls and everything else without having to touch you, manipulate objects and turn anything into a weapon. She will have Jeaki fused into her and even if she has most control, Jeaki could start getting greedy as the fight continues and you'd be able to hear both Areum's voice and Jeaki's voice anytime she talks.
What P.O.V do you play in?
Since this is a second gen game, it's going to have chatrooms and visual novels. Though, maybe I'd be able to put in little movie scenes in game. That's be great to see in interactions between characters that are in thier lives everyday (ex: Jisu is always with Laon during the day and sometimes night because they grew close in college. Jeaki always picks Areum up from school because she doesn't have her own car).
What's the currency?
Just like Mystic Messenger, I wouldn't want you guys to have to pay all that much, maybe only pay for extra things (ex: calling cards, extra hourglasses).
Unlike Mystic Messenger, however, I do not want to use hourglasses. I'd love to use a 'soul' currency. Since this story focuses on the characters, thier 'demons', and what thier soul looks like, I feel that would be good.
You get souls by making a character give you a piece of thier's in a chatroom or visual novel or even in a first person point of view. It's somewhat hard to get but you also receive hearts, just like in the original. With hearts, you can pay for more souls. You get souls that add up to maybe ten hearts coming from the same person all at once. 1 soul= 10 hearts.
I'm thinking it's just like how couples say "you have a piece of my soul" but it's actually true in this game. There is no limit, you may exceed all limits because it's still metaphorical in a way. Thier souls cannot ever be owned fully by you.
Note that I am not a religious person. I don't pray or go to church or anything. I just somehow got to this point idk.
Who's route should be played first for the best flow of story?
That depends on who you're playing as. Who youre playing as effects the story greatly, most of the time, it changes the way one thinks of the situation.
For example, if you are playing as Jisu, her fears will become present of potentially loosing everyone if they all went to save Areum. You will see her inner turmoil because, on one hand, Areum was one of her best friends but, on the other hand, she could possibly loose everyone else. Her approach to the situation differs from everyone else's but nobody's reaction is the same.
Only with Areum and Iseul are you able to get a crystal clear view of what happened. You're able to get both thier sides of the story and a better understanding of what really happened.
What is the story?
I'm sure that you're wondering the full story. It will all be written out in due time. You see, I am only 16 years old. I cannot develop a game and I can't draw anything. One thing I do really well is write.
I can write out the full story before any games are made for it. In my opinion, that would be the easiest option if I'm going to actually make it a game. If it does become a game, that means that I've either contact Cheritz or I've changed a few things about the game (such as thier parents and the layout) but I think I'd still be able to keep my story line. The storyline differs completely from the original. I mean, Mint Eye doesn't even exist in this storyline because it was taken down by Seven, MC, Vanderwood, and (probably) Saeran and V.
Is there a reset option?
Of course. As soon as you're done with one character, you can press a reset button and go with another. You may play as the same character multiple times and romance everybody multiple times.
Do the character's relationships differ if I were to change from playing one character to playing another?
Yes. Let's say you were playing Laon. Gyeong was your cousin who loved you so much and Jisu was your tsundere best friend who took care of you because she feels the need to.
Now you're playing as Eunha. Jeaki is your best friend that treats you like a goddess and Jisu is your fan that you've had a raging crush on since high school.
See? Your relationships with everybody changes depending on who you're playing.
What type of endings are there?
There's a romantic ending, a platonic ending, a heartbroken ending and a hatred ending. It all depends on how you treated them in the game.
Can I romance everybody?
Well, not exactly. You see, sexuality is also a factor. Like Eunha. You can still romance her as a girl but as a boy, you can only get a platonic ending or hatred ending. For example, if you were playing as Jeaki, there'd be a platonic ending where you and her move in together but it'd be like a sleepover with your best friend. Like a married life but no romance or intimacy and just labeled as friends.
(That's only the Jeaki and Eunha ending. Eunha doesn't move in with just anybody).
Conclusion
In conclusion, I think this would be a great game. I think that it's very different from Mystic Messenger and, if Mystic Messenger doesn't want to help me, I'd only have to tweak a few things such as who thier parents are and maybe thier face or hair. I'd also probably have to get rid of chatrooms but I don't know.
Nevertheless, I am determined to make this into something that is important. I want to make these characters and thier stories known. I want everything to be known by more people than just me and the few select that actually read my garbage.
I'm happy that I've thought of original characters and an actual storyline that could differ from Cheritz's. So even if I don't get permission, all I'd have to do is change certain things (small or huge) and have a game of my own.
I just want this story to actually be something. I never imagined I'd love an imaginary world so much. Nevermind my OWN imaginary world!
At the end of the day, Im still only a high-school student who doesn't know the first step to coding videogames and has huge ambitions. It would be a kickass idea, in all honesty but I'm still a kid. I've got a long way to go and classes to take. Not to say I couldn't do it with the right amount of effort but, you know...
Thanks
I am extremely grateful for Shipper6145 for always commenting and telling me her ideas. I consider her a co creater and you better bet everything that I'll be mentioning her if I ever do make a game out of this. She has inspired me to continue with this book by the way she just comments on this, letting me know that she really enjoys it. Not to mention that she has also given me certain ideas on accident that had become canon.
I still find it amazing that she was someone who hated when people put thier OCs into stories and yet she saw my messy OCs when they were still new and said "I like that". Hell, thier personalities weren't even in full development but she still loved each and every one of them. I'm also pretty sure that Laon, Iseul, Haneul and Eunha never existed for a while but she was still satisfied with the the first four.
Most of my thanks goes out to her.
I'm also thankful for the people that read my Jumin x Jaehee books. Areum and Jeaki existed because I made those books and people read them. If nobody read them, my inspiration would have faltered and I would've stopped sooner or later but thanks to you, you all have made my reader count sky rocket to the highest reads I've ever had on any book.
I love and appreciate all of you. This all comes from my heart and it's spilling out on the pages. Thank you! With my whole being, I thank you!
With all my love,
Destiny.
