Chapter 31: Getting ready
Spitfire stretched her arms and leaned against the vanity table, a wistful grin on her face. "I can't believe it's been nearly a week of staying in this world."
Applejack adjusted her hat, glancing at Rainbow Dash. "Yeah, the experience has been amazin', Dash. This place sure is somethin' else."
Rainbow Dash nodded, a smirk tugging at her lips. "Told you it'd be cool. I mean, not every day you get to hang out in a royal palace."
"I still can't get over the food," Pinkie Pie piped up, bouncing slightly in her seat. "Like, those little pastries? So good! I could eat a hundred of them!"
"You did eat a hundred of them," Fluttershy said softly, earning a round of giggles.
"Don't forget about the gardens," Twilight added, straightening her hair as Rarity worked on her dress. "I could spend months just studying the rare plants here."
Fleetfoot, brushing her hair with a touch of irritation, raised an eyebrow. "The gardens? Sure, they're nice, but did you see the training grounds? I was tempted to challenge one of the guards to a sparring match."
"Now that would've been something to see," Spitfire quipped, smirking.
Rainbow Dash laughed, crossing her arms. "I don't think they could handle you, Fleetfoot. You'd probably show them up too hard."
"Well, I think it's all been wonderful," Fluttershy chimed in with a gentle smile. "The peaceful nights, the animals in the woods nearby... it's just so lovely."
Misty Fly adjusted her necklace, her voice light with amusement. "And don't forget the fancy dresses. Right, Dash?"
Rainbow rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Fancy dresses. Totally my thing."
Before anyone could reply, Rarity's voice cut through the chatter, sharp and decisive.
"Enough chatter, girls! We need to be ready, and we need to look fabulous. There's no time to waste!"

The castle's royal dressing chambers were bustling with activity, filled with the sound of laughter, chatter, and Rarity's sharp, decisive instructions. She stood at the center of the organized chaos, a commanding presence in her own glamorous lavender gown.
"Alright, darlings, we don't have all day!" Rarity declared, clapping her hands together. "Let's make sure everyone looks absolutely fabulous for the ball. This is Aeatria's moment to shine, and so are we."
Spitfire groaned, already halfway into her fitted jacket. "Why does it feel like I'm being prepped for a photoshoot instead of a ball?"
"Because you are," Rarity retorted with a playful smirk. "Now stand still so I can adjust that collar!"
Suprise, sitting nearby in a flurry of lace and giggles, couldn't stop bouncing in excitement. "Oh my gosh, this is so fancy! I can't believe we're doing this. What if I trip? What if my hair falls apart?"
"Darling, if your hair falls apart, I'll be the first to notice and fix it before anyone else does," Rarity assured her. She fluffed Suprise's blond curls and stepped back to admire her handiwork. "There! Perfect."
Surprise's dress
Fleetfoot and Misty Fly were huddled near a mirror, inspecting their dresses.
Misty Fly's dress
"I look ridiculous," Fleetfoot muttered, tugging at the hem of her gown.
Fleetfoot's dress
"You look divine," Rarity corrected her sharply. "Now stop fidgeting, or I'll have to start over!"
Rarity's dress
Meanwhile, Twilight Sparkle was seated quietly, flipping through a small notebook while Rarity styled her hair. "Twilight, darling, put the book down. The ball is about presence, not research."
"I know," Twilight said, reluctantly closing the notebook. "I just want to be prepared. This is a whole new culture we're immersing ourselves in."
Twilight's dress
"And you'll impress everyone just by showing up," Rarity said with a reassuring smile.
Applejack stood off to the side, looking distinctly uncomfortable in her formal gown, which was a muted green to complement her eyes. "Are ya sure this ain't too much?" she asked.
Applejack's dress
"It's perfect," Rarity said, not for the first time. "Now, hold still while I pin this sash in place."
Pinkie Pie, already dressed in a bright pink and yellow gown, was twirling in circles. "This is going to be so fun! I can't wait for the food and the music and the dancing and—"
Pinkie's dress
"Pinkie, hold still!" Rarity exclaimed, trying to grab her long enough to fix her hair.
Fluttershy was sitting quietly in a corner, already dressed in a flowing gown of soft lavender. Rarity gave her a gentle smile. "Fluttershy, darling, you look absolutely lovely. Are you ready?"
Fluttershy's dress
Fluttershy nodded shyly. "I think so. Thank you, Rarity."
Finally, Rarity turned her attention to Rainbow Dash, who was leaning against the wall, arms crossed. Her dress was still draped over a mannequin.
"Rainbow Dash!" Rarity scolded. "Why aren't you dressed yet?"
Rainbow shrugged. "Because I'm pretty sure I don't need all this fancy stuff to look cool."
Rarity put her hands on her hips, her eyes narrowing. "Rainbow Dash, if you don't put on this dress right now, you'll look cool—but underdressed!"
Rainbow sighed but relented, stepping into the gown. "Fine, but I'm not doing the heels."
"Flats, then," Rarity said, already grabbing a pair that matched the dress perfectly.
Rainbow's Dress
Once everyone was dressed, Rarity stepped back, a proud smile lighting up her face. "There! You all look stunning. Aeatria will never forget tonight."
The group took a moment to admire themselves in the mirrors. Even Spitfire, who had been grumbling earlier, seemed impressed.
Spitfire's dress
"Alright, let's do this," Rainbow said, trying to sound confident despite the butterflies in her stomach.
As they made their way out of the dressing chambers, Rarity clapped her hands one last time. "Remember, ladies—chin up, smiles on, and let's dazzle them!"
So guys, which dress was your favorite?
I tried to get a prettier gown for Dash but I couldn't. Sorry.
