The group woke up in a flurry of confusion, each of them finding themselves in unfamiliar surroundings. They looked down at their hands, then at each other, realizing they weren't the ponies they were just hours before. A loud scream echoed through the room, quickly followed by another, then another. Chaos filled the air.
"AHHHH! What happened?!" Spitfire yelled, her voice laced with panic.
"Why do I feel... weird?!" Fleetfoot shouted, looking at her hands as if they were some foreign appendage.
"What are we?! WHAT IS THIS?!" Misty Fly screamed, her voice high-pitched with shock.
"I can't fly!" Surprise exclaimed, flapping her arms uselessly, her face a mix of confusion and frustration.
Twilight Sparkle, always the logical one, was trying to take deep breaths. "Okay, okay... calm down, everypony! Let's try to figure this out. We're humans... I mean, we must be!"
The sound of frantic scrambling and more shouting filled the room, but then—CRASH—suddenly, there was a thud from the other side of the room. A small object hit the floor, and everything went silent for a split second. It was Rainbow Dash, jumping out of bed, grabbing a bat from seemingly nowhere, and getting into a fighting stance.
Rainbow's POV
The screams were enough to jolt me awake, and my heart started pounding in my chest. I bolted out of bed, adrenaline surging as I reached for the nearest weapon—I don't even know where the bat came from, but it was in my hands. I got into my fighting position, ready for whatever threat was coming my way.
"Who is it? Who broke in?" I demanded, scanning the room. I wasn't about to let anyone catch me off guard.
"Why do you sound like our Dashie?" Pinkie Pie's voice called out, the confusion clear in her tone.
I froze for a second. Then it clicked. "Because I am your Dashie! I mean... I am Rainbow Dash!" I said, my voice shaking with both surprise and irritation. This was getting weirder by the second.
Spitfire didn't buy it. She charged at me, pouncing like a lion on its prey. "Likely story," she muttered as she tried to tackle me to the ground, her grip tightening around my neck.
I could barely breathe, but before I could do anything else, Soarin stepped in. He was fast, pulling Spitfire off me with one strong motion and sending her tumbling onto her butt.
"Woah, woah!" Soarin said, looking at me with wide eyes. "So you don't remember teasing us? You don't remember Rainbow kissing my cheek?" His words made my stomach do a flip, and a blush crept up my cheeks faster than I could fight it.
Spitfire blinked, her confusion clear. "Wait—how do you know what happened in my dream?" she asked, tilting her head in disbelief.
"Hey, I had the same dream!" Surprise shouted, bouncing up and down in excitement as she waved her arms in the air. Well, she tried to jump; her body wasn't quite used to the human form yet, but that didn't stop her from grinning from ear to ear.
"Me too..." Twilight spoke up, her voice slightly more subdued than Surprise's. "I remember Rainbow sleeping on Soarin's shoulder... Oops! Was I supposed to say that?" She looked guilty for a split second before shaking her head.
"Yeah, same," Twilight confirmed, now standing up. "But... how are we even able to stand like this? What are we supposed to do now?"
Twilight nodded slowly, adjusting her glasses as if she was trying to make sense of it all. "I... I think we did. But... how did we even get here? Why are we here and not in Equestria?" She looked around, wide-eyed and unsure.
Surprise bounced in place, her usual energy still bubbling up even though her face held a deep confusion. "Yeah! I thought we were never going to see Rainbow or Soarin again for 5 months!" she exclaimed, as though the realization was starting to hit her just now.
Spitfire shook her head, still recovering from the surprise of waking up as a human. "But why are we like this? I thought it was just some weird dream, but now..." Her voice trailed off as she took in the reality around her, her gaze locking with mine. "How are we even supposed to get back?"
My heart skipped a beat. "Get back?" I repeated, feeling a sudden rush of panic. Were they thinking they couldn't go back to Equestria? To the world they knew? To their own bodies?
"Yeah," Spitfire said, her voice softening with uncertainty. "I remember the dream, all of us together, back in Equestria. And I thought... maybe we'd never see you two again. But now... This is real, isn't it?"
Rarity looked herself over with a critical eye, her face scrunching in confusion. "What happened to my mane? Where's my beautiful flow?" she asked, running a hand through her hair as if expecting it to magically fix itself.
"How do we even walk?" Applejack asked, frowning deeply. She seemed to be still adjusting to the loss of her hooves, looking down at her new legs with wide eyes.
"What... are these things?" Fluttershy whispered, poking at her legs with a small, uncertain motion.
"Where are my wings?!" Misty Fly shouted, flapping her arms in a panic. "What are we?!" Her shout echoed through the room, and the chaos amplified once more.
Soarin stepped in, rubbing his temples looking at me. "Okay, okay... calm down. You didn't act like this when you first woke up."
I glanced at Soarin and nodded, my mind still spinning. I looked around at the rest of my friends, who were all in various states of confusion. But one thing was certain: we needed to figure this out—fast.
Blitz, ever the practical one, stared at the group with his usual intensity. "I think we need to teach them how to walk," he said with an eyebrow raised, scanning the room like we were all a new set of recruits.
I blinked, then glanced at Soarin, who had the same thought as me. "Wait... how did they walk yesterday?" I asked, half-expecting Soarin to give me an answer. But none came. We were all just... stuck, unsure of how to proceed in these human forms.
We had no idea how to handle this, but one thing was certain—we were going to figure it out, together.
And maybe... just maybe, this whole "human" thing would bring us closer than ever, hopefully.

Soarin's POV
The initial chaos of everyone trying to figure out their new human bodies eventually gave way to a series of unsteady, comical steps. With a lot of wobbling and a few tumbles, they all managed to stay balanced and get used to walking. I had to hold back a laugh as Spitfire almost toppled over, grabbing onto Fleetfoot for balance, while Pinkie and Fluttershy were surprisingly quick to catch on, already darting around like pros.
Once everyone was ready, I grinned and announced, "Alright, everyone, time to hit the town!" The limousine outside was just big enough to fit everyone—except Rainbow and me.
"Looks like we're taking the Lambo," I said, glancing over at Rainbow with a smirk.
Her eyes widened as she looked over at the sleek Lamborghini parked nearby. I could see a mix of surprise and excitement in her expression as I walked ahead, pulling open the door for her with a grin. She hesitated for a moment, glancing at me with a hint of amazement before slipping into the seat, running her fingers over the leather interior. I started up the engine, and as we pulled away, she was glued to the window, watching the city streets flash by. I could feel her excitement, and, honestly, it was contagious.
After a bit of driving, we met up with the others near a cozy café that served the best cinnamon rolls in town. I led them inside, insisting they try one, and their reactions did not disappoint. Pinkie was especially thrilled, bouncing in her seat after the first bite.
"This is the BEST thing ever!" she shouted, practically inhaling her pastry. Blitz, who was usually pretty composed, was savoring his own roll with the same wide-eyed amazement.
I chuckled, watching them all. "Told you humans know a thing or two about snacks."
We spent a while at the café, but Rarity's eyes sparkled as we passed the mall on the way out. "Oh, we simply must go shopping!" she declared. I shot a quick glance at Rainbow, who rolled her eyes but followed anyway. She was clearly just as interested, though she tried to play it cool.
In the mall, we wandered around the stores, everyone marveling at the rows of clothes and shoes. While the others were engrossed in exploring the accessories, I pulled Rainbow aside and nodded toward an electronics store. "Come on, let's check this out," I said, leading her in.
She looked around at all the gadgets, her eyes lighting up when she spotted a display for the latest Samsung Galaxy. She tried to keep her cool, but I knew she was thrilled.
"Wait here," I said, stepping up to the counter to talk to the clerk. I returned a minute later with the phone in hand and offered it to her. "Here. Consider it a little keepsake for this adventure."
Her mouth dropped open, and she looked up at me in surprise. "Are you serious?" she stammered.
I just grinned. "You'll need something to capture all these memories, right?"
The rest of the group had gathered around us by now, and Pinkie practically squealed. "Aww... that's so sweet!" she gushed, clutching her hands to her chest.
Blitz rolled his eyes but couldn't resist smirking. "Well, look at you, Rainbow. Spoiled already, huh?"
Rainbow's cheeks turned pink as she looked at me, smiling like she wasn't sure what to say. I shrugged, feeling a little bashful under all the attention but secretly pleased.
"Honestly, Soarin, that was so thoughtful of you," Rarity said, sighing dramatically.
Applejack grinned, tipping her hat at me. "Yep, you sure know how to treat a gal right, Soarin."
Even Fluttershy chimed in softly, "It's nice to see you two so... close."
Rainbow quickly waved off their comments, shaking her head. "It's just a phone, guys!" But I could tell she was touched.

As we strolled through the mall, the group was already gathering bags of clothes, shoes, and every accessory imaginable. Rarity, unsurprisingly, led the way, navigating each store like she'd been here a thousand times before, her excitement contagious. The others were catching on too—Fluttershy and Applejack were busy browsing hats, Twilight was checking out jewelry with an almost scientific curiosity, and Pinkie Pie had found a wall of sunglasses she was trying on in rapid succession.
I felt my phone buzz in my pocket and pulled it out to find a message. It was an invitation to a grand ball this weekend—a formal event that would mean gowns, tuxedos, and a full royal crowd. I glanced over at Rarity, who had already spotted the glint of intrigue in my eyes.
"Oh, Soarin, darling, is there something interesting?" Rarity asked, practically bouncing over.
I smirked and showed her the message. "Looks like we're all invited to a ball on Saturday. Thought you'd be interested."
Her eyes went wide with excitement. "A ball! Oh, we must find everyone the perfect outfits. It's settled—everyone's going shopping today!" With a wave of her hand, she signaled the group. "Mane Six, Wonderbolts—everyone gather 'round! We have some serious shopping to do!"
The group let out a collective groan but followed her lead, filing into a massive boutique filled with every style of dress you could imagine. Rarity immediately dived into the racks, pulling out gown after gown.
As she held up a soft, elegant gown, Rarity turned to me with an approving smile. "What do you think, Soarin? Wouldn't this just look divine on Rainbow?"
I gave the dress a glance, imagining Rainbow's usual style, but then my eyes caught a bolder option hanging nearby. With a sly grin, I reached over and pulled out a dress with a sleeker silhouette and a high slit. "I think this one might be more... fitting for the evening," I suggested, holding it up for Rarity.
Rarity's eyes widened, taking the dress from me with an expression that was a mix of surprise and amusement. "Why, Soarin, I didn't take you for one to make such daring suggestions for our Rainbow."
Across the store, Rainbow had caught on to our conversation, raising an eyebrow as a smirk spread across her face. "Soarin's got a taste for drama, huh?" she teased.
Spitfire chuckled from her side of the store. "Guess he likes to keep things interesting."
Applejack joined in with a laugh, giving me a playful nudge. "Well, I don't know if Rainbow can pull off something that bold without stealing the spotlight."
Rarity held the dress up against Rainbow with a little smile. "Oh, darling, she most certainly could," she said with a gleam in her eye. "Though, I'll admit, Soarin has some surprisingly good taste here."
The rest of the group quickly chimed in with their own opinions. Twilight, eyeing a simpler, flowy gown, offered, "Honestly, I think elegance is all about balance. You don't need something bold to make a statement, Rainbow."
Pinkie jumped over beside us, grinning ear to ear. "But sometimes a little drama is fun! Just picture it: making an entrance, all eyes on you, sparkles and everything!"
Fluttershy, holding a blush-pink gown against herself, smiled softly. "I think both styles can be beautiful, in different ways."
Meanwhile, Fleetfoot held up a glitzy, sequined dress with a smirk. "Now this one has 'party' written all over it!" she said, laughing.
Misty Fly shrugged, leaning back with a grin. "Whatever she picks, Rainbow's definitely going to look like a million bucks. But Soarin might just be onto something with that one."
Rarity held both gowns up to Rainbow, looking between them thoughtfully. "Well, why not have a little mix of both?" She winked, carefully draping each dress over her arm. "I think we all should aim to bring a little sparkle to the evening, don't you?"

Rainbow stepped out of the dressing room, and the room fell silent as everyone turned to look at her. She was wearing the bold dress I'd chosen, and it suited her in every way, with the high slit adding a dash of elegance while still letting her look effortlessly cool. She looked herself over, tugging at the fabric a little as if still adjusting to the change from her usual style.
Spitfire let out a low whistle. "Well, look at you, Rainbow! You actually clean up pretty well."
Rainbow rolled her eyes but grinned. "Gee, thanks, Spitfire. I'll take that as a compliment."
Surprise bounced up beside her, eyes wide with excitement. "You look amazing, Dashie! That dress was made for you!" She gave Rainbow a wink. "And I think Soarin's gonna have a hard time keeping his eyes off you at the ball."
Fluttershy, standing a little to the side, smiled softly. "You look really beautiful, Rainbow. It's... um, a very lovely choice."
Rainbow's cheeks turned a little pink, though she tried to play it cool. "Aw, thanks, guys. You're making me sound like I'm getting all dressed up for Soarin or something."
I couldn't help but laugh, crossing my arms and leaning back as I watched her. "Not for me, huh?" I teased. "You could've fooled me."
Rainbow shot me a mock glare, though she was clearly trying to hold back a smile. "Oh, please. Rarity just wanted to try something different," she said, folding her arms in a challenge.
Spitfire nudged her with a smirk. "Well, 'something different' looks pretty great on you, Rainbow."
Rarity clapped her hands together, practically beaming. "Oh, darling, I knew it would look stunning! You have to wear this to the ball. It's simply perfect!"
The rest of the group gathered around, all chattering excitedly, each of them giving her compliments and teasing her just enough to keep her blushing.
"Alright, alright, don't go making a big deal out of it," Rainbow finally said, unable to hide her smile.
As we headed back to the checkout with our selections, I could still see Rainbow glancing over her shoulder at the mirror, looking at her reflection with a small, thoughtful smile. And I had a feeling that, no matter what she said, the ball was definitely going to be memorable for the both of us.
I'll tell you guys what they look like in the next 3-4 chapters
