57...Wedding Party

~Jada's POV~
Today's the day. November 1st. It's 2:50 in the afternoon and I'm getting dressed to go to Michael's wedding party. I'm sooo nervous! I don't know why but I am.

I finish getting ready and bring the babies out to the limo and put them in their car seats. I hop in and tell my driver, Carl, to drive to Neverland.

After a drive that feels like forever, we get there. I look at the time on my phone and it says 4:10.

I get out of the limo and go inside with Christian and Hope. I see Michael right away and we make eye contact but I quickly look away.

"Hey, Jada. I'm so glad you came!" He says as he hugs me.

I take in his scent and I feel like I'm in heaven. I never want this hug to end!

"Hey, Michael." I fake a smile.

"Hey, Hope and Christian. How are you guys?" He coos at the twins in the stroller as he pokes their little noses with his fingers.

They both giggle at him and reach for his fingers.

"Hope is looking more and more like you." Michael giggles.

"Yeah she is. And Christian is looking more and more like his father." I say and then when I realize what I said, I wish I could take it back.

He just smiles at me and I fake a smile back.

"There you are, Michael! Oh, what's she doing here?" Lisa says, glaring at me as she walks over.

"Michael invited me. That's what I'm doing here." I snap at her.

"Is that true, Michael?" She says angrily.

"Yes. I did invite her. But be nice! It's our wedding day and I want everyone to get along!" He says as Lisa and I exchange glares.

"Hey Mom!" Rylee says, coming over to me.

"Hey sweetie. I missed you!" I smile at her.

"Missed you too mom." She smiles back and kisses my cheek.

"Hey, little ones." She coos at her siblings and they giggle again.

"Uh, Michael. Is there anywhere I can put these ones down for a nap?" I ask.

"Yeah. Your place" Lisa mumbles and I glare at her.

"Yes. I set up Jedell and Rylee's old cribs in Rylee's room just in case." Michael says and I nod.

"Thank you." I say, walking past everyone.

I put them in the cradles and get them to fall asleep before returning downstairs to get a drink.

After awhile, I start socializing with people that I have met in the past through Michael and I find myself having a fun time.

"Okay, everyone. It's time for the newly weds' first dance as husband and wife!" The DJ says and Michael's song The Lady In My Life comes on.

It brings tears to my eyes and I remember when Michael told me this song was about me. I feel a tear roll down my cheek as I watch Michael and his new wife slow dance together. Michael looks over at me with a sympathetic look when he sees me quickly wipe my tears.

Awhile after the dance, I just sit at the sofa in the living room. I haven't seen Michael around for a while. I shrug it off and go upstairs to check on Christian and Hope.

I walk into Rylee's room to see them and I see Michael looking in the crib at them.

"Oh hi, Michael. I didn't know you were here." I say as he looks at me.

"I'm sorry if it hurt you to see Lisa and I dancing. I understand and I'm sorry." He says.

"It's alright. She's your new wife and I just need to deal with that." I shrug.

He doesn't say anything and just looks at the babies who are still fast asleep in the crib.

"Y'know. It's funny that earlier, you said that Christian is looking more and more like his father. Yesterday I looked at a picture of me from when I was his age and he looks almost identical to what I looked like." He says.

"So what are you saying?" I ask, nervously.

"I'm gonna ask you this again and I don't want you to lie to me. I want you to be completely honest with me, okay?" He says.

"Okay." I nod.

"Am I the real father of Hope and Christian?" He asks and I look down as I feel more guilt than I did before.

I can feel more tears rolling down my cheeks.

"Answer me, Jada. Are they mine?" He asks.

"Yes." I nod.

He puts two fingers under my chin and pulls my face up so I can look him in the eyes. I can see that he is crying too.

"Why did you lie to me? Why were you gonna keep them a secret from me? Why, Jada?" He whispers.

"I didn't want you to be in my life as much as you would be if you knew about them because I wanted to try to be happy without you. I regretted it after awhile and when I was giving birth to them, I wanted you by my side. I even cried for you and I felt so guilty for not telling you. You say you want the complete truth, here it is. The day our divorce was final, I was having second thoughts and I regret ever divorcing you. I love you and I forgave you a long time ago for kissing her. It was a mistake divorcing you and it was a mistake keeping Christian and Hope from you. I tried going on a date and falling for another guy but it won't work. My heart won't let go of you. My heart belongs to you and now I know you don't feel the same way towards you because you've fallen in love with Lisa and she's your wife now. I want you to be happy, Michael. So I'll do you a favour and I'll leave right now." I ramble on and try to leave but he pulls me into a hug.

"Jada, I feel the same way about you as you do about me but you've divorced me and now I'm married. It's too late to try this again. But I do wanna see Christian and Hope more." He whispers as I sob into his chest.

"I'm sorry, Michael." I sob.

"It's okay, J. I forgive you." He whispers and kisses the top of my head.

"Thank you, Michael." I whisper.

"You're welcome. Can you believe that our girls will be 15 in a couple months?" He says.

"I know. They're growing up so fast! Before we know it, they'll be married and having kids of their own." I chuckle.

"Oh no!" Michael gasps, jokingly.

I laugh as we pull back from the hug.

"Thanks for being so calm about the kids." I say.

"No problem. I just wish you told me the truth the first time so I could be there for their birth!" He says.

"I'm sorry about that." I sigh.

"It's alright. I actually understand."

"You do?" I ask and he nods.

"Come on. Let's go downstairs so people don't start wondering where we are." He says and I nod.

Jedell and Rylee come up to me.

"Why were you and dad up there so long?" Jedell asks.

"He told me to tell him the truth about Christian and Hope and I did." I smile weakly and their eyes widen.

"So he knows? Did he freak out?" Rylee asks.

"He knows now but he didn't freak out. He was very calm and he gave me a hug." I say.

"Oh. Wow." They say.

I suddenly start crying and they give me a big hug.

"It's okay, Mom." Rylee whispers.

"He's married now. He's married. I can't have him back now. It was so stupid of me to divorce him." I cry.

"It'll be okay, Mom." Jedell whispers.

They bring me into the living room again and sit beside me on the couch as I continue crying.

"Can we leave?" I ask and they nod.

We get the babies and go to go out the door but we're stopped by Michael.

"Where are you all going?" He asks.

"We're leaving. We have something to do." I sniffle.

"Okay. Again, Jada, I'm sorry." He whispers and kisses my forehead.

I smile up at him weakly and leave with all our kids.
