Ariana's POV

Tonights the night, I'm so nervous since I've only been in school a week and I'm already getting ready for my first date tonight. I mean I've dated before obviously but everything's all new I'm excited though.

It's 11am. I'm chilling at home watching TV and thinking about tonight, I get a text from Tessa

Text: Hey girly, I've seen these amazing shoes in a store down town and I think they're on sale today! Wanna go check them out and get a Starbucks?

I read her text, I guess I could use a little distraction to get my mind off tonight.

Reply: Definitely! I'll pick you up in 20 mins?

Text: okay!

Justin's POV

So tonights the day I get to go out with the most beautiful new girl in town. I am bit nervous because I haven't dated anyone in over 9 months since Selena broke my heart, I've always been afraid to date again because I don't wanna be hurt again.

I'm in my room thinking about tonight and deciding which clothes I should wear I hear my phone go off.
Its Ariana

Text: hey Justin, it's Ariana are we still going out tonight?

Reply: Yes of course, I'll pick you up at 7:30

Text: Alright :)

I smirk at my phone, even though I'm looking forward to the date I don't wanna let my past ruin it for me. I've only known her a week but Ariana seems like an amazing & the total opposite of Selena. I feel like I've known her all my life I'm just scared I won't be able to trust, I need to protect my heart.

Ariana's POV

I'm at Starbucks with Tessa talking about my date with Justin tonight & thinking about which stores to shop at for an outfit for tonight.

Tessa: Are you excited for your date tonight?
Me: Yeah.. Well kinda
Tessa: What's wrong?
Me: I'm nervous, what if I mess up and ruin it
Tessa: You're not gonna ruin it
Me: -sighs- I hope not, anyways what's Justin like?
Tessa: In what way?
Me: The guy way like in general
Tessa: Honestly? He's a sweetheart, he's so kind and just a happy guy. Well now he's back to normal an over his ex
Me: Awh, wait what did his ex do?
Tessa: Well I don't know the whole story of it, but all I heard is that she had cheated on him and had sex with another guy
Me: Damn poor guy, who is his ex? If you don't mind me asking
Tessa: Her name is Selena, she's a total bitch she thinks she's the head queen of the school, but she really isn't. She's a huge slut
Me: Haha she sounds crazy
Tessa: Oh believe me she is haha, anyways girl ready to hit the stores?
Me: Yes! Of course

Its 2pm and we start heading to the stores downtown to go shop for an outfit tonight. I am so indecisive when it comes to shopping for clothes or shoes.

Me: So what store did you see those shoes you were talking about at?
Tessa: Brown's they're these really cute coral wedges heels. Browns a shoe store here in Canada.
Me: Ooo nice, I love Coral
Tessa: C'mon let's go! -laughs-

40mins have passed and I am headed to drop off Tessa so I could go home and get ready for mine and Justin's date I had bought me a real cute dress at Laura Plus.

It's 5:30 pm I'm in my room finishing my makeup and starting to curl my hair. I turn on music and play 'I'm still standing' by Phil Collins I sing along as I finish curling my hair.

20mins have gone by I'm downstairs having a tiny snack and watching TV. I hear door bell ring, I go and check who it is. I see a bouquet of flowers.

Justin: Hey beautiful are you ready? These are for you. -hands me the flowers
Me: -smiles- Aw thank you &  Yes, lemme go back inside  and get my purse
Justin: Alright, I'll wait for in the car

I go inside and get my purse, turns off TV and walk out the door to Justin's car.

Me: So, where are we going?
Justin: It's a surprise -smiles-
Me: -giggles- Awh
Justin: So how are you?
Me: I'm good little nervous
Justin: Don't be -he kisses my cheek-
It'll be fun

We pull up outside to the most expensive restaurant in town

Justin: Okay we're here
Me: Here?
Justin: Yeah, stay here I'll come around to you

Justin gets out and like a perfect gentleman comes around to my side of the car and opens my door for me. He's so sweet I've never had a guy treat me like that before

We sit at our table and the host hands us our menus, we look at them

Justin: Seen anything you like?

I look at Justin and smile he looks at me and smirks back

Me: Uh...

I look at the menu again

Me: Um yeah, I might get the shrimp Alfredo, you?

He smirks knowing we both knew what he meant and looks at the menu

Justin: Yeah I might get chicken risotto. So, still nervous?

Me: Uh no I'm having fun
Justin: I told you

I giggle

Justin: You have a cute laugh
Me: Thanks
Justin: No Problem

We both smile, our food comes over a few mins later, Justin has some of his

Justin: Mm this is good wanna try some?
Me: Sure

Justin gets a spoonful of his and feeds me it

Me: Dang it is good! Wanna try mine?

I feed him some of mine

Justin: Ooo that's so good

We giggle and carry on eating

Me: How long have you been single?

Justin's phone lights up with a text, I saw Selena's name, Justin looks at his phone and turns his phone over

Justin: Oh um a few months

Justin looks down and sips his drink an then looks at me again

Justin: You?
Me: About a year
Justin: Still in contact with him?
Me: Nope, I'm not in contact with anyone from my old town my mom thinks it will be better for me to start fresh and meet new people and make new friends. I miss my old friends. But I guess she's right we'd grow apart eventually if we did keep in touch. Well actually I do keep in touch with one my friends, Danielle but that's all

Justin: Awh

Justin puts his hand on mine

Justin: Well I'm glad you came here

I smile

Me: Me too

Justin's POV

Even though I was on a date with one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen, seeing Selena's name on my phone has brought back all the memories and all the hurt. I can't let the past keep controlling me but I need to know what Selena wants.
