Giving it Reason

Jayfeather looked down, and Jaypaw regretted making that truce, he didn't have as much to hide as Jayfeather did. "You're brother, Lionpaw, is... well he left."
"What do you mean?" Jaypaw blinked in surprised, Lionpaw was the perfect kit, he got to keep his father, and he probably knew the truth!
"When he was apprenticed, we told him the truth about his mother and father. He took the news okay, he just shrugged like it was no big deal. After a while though he started getting angry at us and eventually left."
"Angry at you guys? Why? You told the truth to him." Jaypaw tried to hide the resentment in his voice.
"I guess it runs in the family to hate your parents." Jayfeather chuckled to himself, "He didn't want the responsibility of being a part of the Three, he just wanted his own life."
"Wait, The Three?" Jaypaw stopped him, "What's that?"
"Firestar got a prophecy a while ago, 'There will be three, kin of your kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws.' Anyways, that's you three, well you two."
"What do you mean?" Jaypaw suddenly remembered Hollypaw's namesake dying, "What's going to happen to Hollypaw?" He demanded.
"Stop interrupting geez, I haven't had a turn to ask a question in a while." Jayfeather complained, but answered Jaypaw's question anyways. "I have no idea what will happen to your Hollypaw, I'm not so sure she will have anything to do with the prophecy. Hollyleaf was just a regular warrior." He mumbled the last sentence.
"Hollyleaf was her name?"
Jayfeather nodded, then regained his composure, "So, who's this 'Milky'?"
Jaypaw snorted, Jayfeather was much faster at ransacking someone's mind than Jaypaw. Practice probably, anyways, "I'm not really sure she comes to me for help, but she won't tell me anything other than 'We're in trouble, follow the light, they can't go there.' Or something like that." He explained irritably.
"I guess you should probably pay closer attention to that... How about Gorgepaw?" Jayfeather flicked his tail, like he was getting bored with the conversation.
Jaypaw twitched in annoyance, already tired of the son you've never met? Jaypaw went to search his thoughts, but stopped just in time to remember their deal. "What about her?" Jaypaw took on the same tone of boredom.
"You know you shouldn't be using your powers for things like-" He stopped himself, "Starclan do I sound like Yellowfang right now." He stood up and shook his pelt, "Anyways, take care and that stuff." He turned to leave.
"Wait!" Jaypaw jumped up, suddenly very afraid.
"What?" Jayfeather looked back over his shoulder, but was itching with impatience.
Then Jaypaw remembered that Jayfeather had been in the middle of something when Jaypaw interrupted his dream. "Nothing." He muttered, and stalked away angrily. As Jaypaw walked he thought of what Jayfeather had been saying, about him seeing Gorgepaw, was it really a bad thing? The only reason he'd started talking to her in dreams is because she's so naive she might give away something about Sandclan. He stopped in his steps when he realized the setting of his dream had changed, he was just padding through mist. He sat down and thought about Gorgepaw, 'Why am I still seeing her?' He wondered.
"Hiya!" Jaypaw was toppled over, he breathed in the familiar scent of Gorgepaw, "I was wondering if you were going to come. You didn't come last night, so I was worried." She still hovered on top of him.
Jaypaw didn't notice, "Oh..." He stopped to think about it, was he really visiting her so faithfully? He hadn't realized it, but whenever he went to bed, he was looking forward to hanging out with Gorgepaw. 'How can I-'
"Jaypaw what's wrong?" She hopped off of him so he could stand, then a brilliant idea came to him.
"Gorgepaw," He hesitated, what he was asking for was a long shot, but he knew how he could justify his visits with Gorgepaw, and get a benefit out of them. "Would you," He finally sat up and looked at her, "Consider teaching me how to fight?"
"Huh?" Gorgepaw blinked in surprise, "You want me to teach you about Sandclan's secrets!" She snarled.
"What?!" Jaypaw was taken aback, "No!" He narrowed his eyes.
"Okay!" She jumped up, so long as we have that settled, sure, let's start!"
'What the heck? Jaypaw stood up, and started practising, all the while just being confused like, 'What was that?' Then he got an idea, 'I'll check her thoughts.'
