Chapter 27: "You don't understand"
(A/N; theses few are going to be a little messed up but I'll explain quickly here. This chapter is set after chapter 28 so you are kind of reading it backwards and I know it's really annoying but I couldn't screw up the P.O.V order. This does give away the next chapter but the next chapter is just telling you what exactly happened. If you don't like the way I've done his please don't hate because it's just the way the story had played out. Anyway continue.)
Bethany's P.O.V
Me and Deanna sat up against the boxing ring in training room 3. Both our backs leant heavily on the outside while out heads lay back. It had been a few days since Ronnie had gone evil and two weeks since we had moved to New York. We had a few hours off and everything was catching up on the two of us.
It had finally sunk in that we had moved and weren't going to see our families in a long time. Yes they had all helped us through it but it was still hard. As it hit home me and De slowly dropped into what you could consider a small depression.
Being close to family didn't help with leaving them. Tears leaked from my eyes as memories of my family flooded my thought. "How come it's been two weeks and only now have we had a day off?" De asked after a moment. "Two weeks and it's only just hit home" Her voice was heavy with sadness but no tears escaped her eyes.
"I don't know but it's hit home hard" I mumbled, burying my face in my hands. The door to the training room opened but I didn't glance up. Footfalls made their way towards us but I'd didn't react.
"What are you two doing down here?" Steve asked.
"Wallowing in self pity" I muttered.
"Being depressed" Deanna added dropping her head to the side. Her eyes glassed over but she wasn't letting tears lose, she was thinking. "It will be okay girls, it'll get easier" Natasha said with a smile, what was meant to be, reassuring.
"You don't understand" Me and De mumbled in sync. I was half expecting De to yell 'Jinx' like she normal did but she never. Her eyes stayed staring into space while mine stayed staring at the floor.
"You'd be surprised" Bruce said sitting cross legged in front of us. "Yes it's hard moving away from family but you will see them."
"When would that be tho?" I questioned with a raised eyebrow although no one could see it. "Plus once you become an Agent you have to be careful, you make enemies fast. We are going to make them faster being with you guys."
"So be honest, we aren't seeing our families anytime soon." De spoke up finally letting her head fall straight "And when we do it will be at something like our wedding."
"I thought you didn't want to get married like I don't want to" I said looking at my friend in confusion.
"Exactly" She replied before standing up and walking away. However she stopped by the door and looked back "You say you understand but can you prove it? We're teenagers not adults, think about the impact on us than you."
With that my friend turned on her heels and walked away, blonde hair blowing behind her elegantly. "She's right" I stated following her lead in standing up and walking to the door "You lot were all adults, we're still kids."
