Percy's point of view

When we reached the training room it had just about everything you could think of, Punching bags, mats, guns, bows and arrows, even a few swords and daggers. What really got my attention though was the pool. I could tell it was like most pools and had chlorine and whatever other chemicals that are used in pools in it, but it's still water.

Tony said Okay kid show us what you can do."

I just shrugged and said "You probably want to stand back a bit."

They did as I suggested and moved out of the way, once they were out of the way I started to practice my powers. Taking water from the pool I formed a small hurricane around me I kept it small because obviously I didn't want to wreck the place. After that I dissolved the hurricane and made shapes with the water. I put the water back in the pool and flames appeared in my hands. After that I concentrated and I disappeared in flash of flames and reappeared on the other side of the room. At that point I had got my point across but since I had used so much power I collapsed and passed out.

I woke up in what I later found out was Bruce's lab. He wasn't there so I moved to get off the bed and I was going to head to my room when I realized that I didn't know how to get to it from here. Remembering Friday I asked her the way, and she gave me directions on how to get there. Once I got there I took out a piece of ambrosia and ate it.

I wandered back out to the living room, and it was then that we all heard Friday say "Attack in Central Park."

I switched the TV over to the news station. I could clearly see that people were running afraid for their lives as a drakon basically destroyed the place. One by one the other avengers gathered in the room.

Tony said "Ready for your first mission kid?"

"Nothing I haven't dealt with before, and don't call me kid." I answered

"What do you mean nothing you haven't dealt with before?" Steve asked me.

I answered "I mean that I have fought it, or something similar to it before."

I pointed at the TV where the news program was still talking about the attack in central park. "What is that?" Clint asked I answered "it's a drakon, a Greek monster, most of your weapons won't work on it."

"Why not?" Steve asked.

"Monsters can only be killed by four different metals, Celestial bronze, imperial gold, stygian iron, and silver. Tony your beams may have some effect, but they won't kill it. Thor, your hammer might work but we won't know until you actually try it. Clint, Natasha, I have some spare weapons that you can use, they won't be what you normally use, but we don't have much choice if you want to beat this thing."

That's when Tony interrupted saying "Suit up, and Percy get those other weapons you were talking about."

Just as I was about to leave the room to get the extra weapons and my armor tony must have thought of something, he asked "Kid do you have a suit?"

I just smirked and said "you'll see." before heading to my room to grab my armor and the extra weapons.

I put on the armor and headed back out. I handed Clint, Natasha and Steve, daggers that I never used but had been lying around the Poseidon cabin when I was packing. I had thought about leaving them there but in the end I had taken them. When I came back out Clint and Tony gawked at my armor, but I ignored them.

Guess it was a good thing that I had taken them. After that we left, Tony and Thor flew, and I used my new ability to teleport with fire, I took Steve with me. Natasha and Clint got there one way or another, Bruce didn't go.

Steve's point of view

When we learned of the attack in central park we all prepared to go there, and stop it. I was slightly surprised when Percy informed us that what was causing the damage to the park, and scaring the people was a Greek monster. But I think what surprised me the most was that after Percy informed us of that he basically took control and began leading us informing us that our normal weapons wouldn't kill it, and basically coming up with a plan to defeat it.

That made my earlier thoughts about him possibly having been in a war at some point didn't seem that far off. Especially after what Thor had said about him, and what he had said to Bruce after he beat Clint at his videogame. I couldn't help but be curious about Percy, the teenager who had obviously had to grow up faster than he should have.

When he came back with the extra weapons for us it looked like he had changed his clothes as well, but then Clint said "Cool Armor kid."

Percy sighed after he said that and I wondered why, but what surprised me more was the fact that Clint had said armor, what Percy was wearing didn't look like armor, but then I remembered what Percy had said about the mist preventing most people from seeing things as they really were. Somehow Clint was able to see through the mist. Percy had said that some people could see through it, but it made me wonder about Clint. Was he just clear sighted, or was he a demigod, and never told us? Maybe he never even knew himself?

We could all see Percy's sword, but Percy had said that was because it also contained 'mortal steel' once we arrived at the park Percy seemed to be trying to come up with some kind of plan since he knew that we weren't familiar with the creature we were facing. For that matter most of us couldn't even see it for what it really was.

Finally after some thought Percy said "Tony, Thor attack it from the air, Thor if your hammer won't work use your power over the weather to distract it. Tony I doubt your beams will kill it, but they might weaken it. Clint, Natasha, Steve, do the best you can with the weapons I gave you. Everyone, don't look it in the eyes, and it might be able to breathe fire or spit acid, obviously you want to avoid that."

"Why can't we look it in the eye?" Clint asked

Percy replied "Because if you do you will be frozen to the spot unable to move."

I wasn't about to doubt Percy, he seemed to know what he was talking about, Clint and the others seemed to be satisfied with that answer as well.

Clint asked Percy, "What are you going to do?"

Percy replied "You guys distract it, I'll kill it."

With that statement he started running toward the monster prepared to take on a creature that wouldn't be easy to beat. We did the same in order to distract it. That way its attention would be on us, and Percy might be able to kill it while it's distracted.
