Chapter 8

***i changed the room positioning, her new room is the one next to Kylo's and her old "cage" was elsewhere.******

KYLO REN POV:

General huxyshit approached me after my visit with Cora.

She actually agreed, and I was almost glad.

I remember the weight throwing itself off of my shoulders as her ice cold little hand grasped mine.

I could practically tatse the internal battle she was having with her decision. I had laid my offer out, and all I could do now was watch.

I saw something in those luring grey-gold eyes.

Those dead eyes showed determination.

And I made a promise to never make her regret that determination.

"Ren." The red head that called himself a General interrupted.

I faced him, "What do you want?"

The pitiful excuse for a man scowled at me, "Did everything go as Supreme Leader Snoke wanted? Is this girl, joining our forces?"

A smirk plastered my face, "She is. Lord Cora Drakon of the First Order." I said it, just to say it.

It fit.

"She will be moving rooms, yes? You told us the day she was brought on board that she would agree to our proposition. Does she know her roll as a Lord of the First order?"

I sighed impatiently, as Huxy looked at me, his almost sad looking face made me grin.

"Let me worry about it, General."

He continued, "With the luxuries of her position on board. She must help you search for Luke Skywalker. I saw her lab results...if she is what everyone seems to think she is, then she should have no problem helping us seek out Skywalker, yes?"

"Yeah." I muttered, this little weasel was getting on my last nerve.

"Then she shoul-" I cut him off with a raise of my hand.

"If you don't stop talking..." I taunted. He knew very well how to finish that sentence.

He glared at me before straightening out his coat, and storming away.

I made my way to Cora's old room. Stepping over the destroyed door, I walked in.

She was standing, her now-dried hair lay long and loose. The standard underclothes hid her curves, her arms were crossed, and her eyes were closed as she was deep in thought.

She hadn't sensed me yet, and by the look of concentration on her face, it seemed as if she was doing something with her mind.

She was taking in short breaths, her pale skin twisted.

"Goodbye Lord Goreum." She said softly before opening her eyes.

I think she just broke the connection with him.
That whole Apprentice, Master connection.

I cleared my throat to make my presence known, her golden gray eyes stopped on mine.

She sucked in a breath, "The outer rim territories, in the Anthan system."

I frowned.

"That" she continued, "Is where you will find Lord Goreum's fleet."

I nodded, "We know."

She nodded, probably angry that I hadn't told her we already knew, but she said nothing.

I guess she wasn't like most girls.

"Here." I said as I held out my hand, I had been trying to keep the suit on the down low these past few days, less armor and more casual attire.

She frowned as she looked at my hand.

"I want to show you something." I said.

She looked at me from under her long dark lashes.

Her lips parting involuntarily.

I rolled my eyes and sighed as I grabbed her little hand and pulled her out of the room.

I led her down the halls, unguarded.

It wasn't a test to see if she'd run, as much as I really just wanted to show her, her new room.

We came to the large white door, that was positioned directly next to mine.

I pushed the button at the entrance and the door slid open.

It was a fairly spacious enough room, with a full bed, wardrobe, desk, and a full bath.

She walked in, her hands tracing the lining of the walls to see if they were real.

I had wondered what her life had been like with a man like Goreum. I had heard stories...

"There is something, that needs to be done..." I said slowly.

She stopped looking around and turned to me, "What is it?"

"An oath." I said, "take it as...insurance. Sure we can take your word, but this oath...its law."

She nodded, and tucked a strand of her ink black hair behind her ear.

"There is no peace there is-" I started.

She cut me off, "I know it."

It's the code of the Dark side, and considering she is as Dark as it gets, she's probably already taken it.

"It's a formal thing, you know?" I said slowly.

She nodded, her face blank and unreadable as always.

"I've taken it before." She said, her eyes meeting mine and then darting away.

The oath was a big deal, your loyalty is now to whoever you promise to, it's law.

After she swears in, it'll be easier, I will be able to trust her, and train with her, without the feeling that she's going to kill me the second I turn my back.

She ran her fingers along the back wall of her room.

"No windows?" She asked softly, her light voice echoed across the walls of the room.

She probably never got to see the stars where she came from. From what I heard, Lord Goreum was...strict.

I was all for pain, and torture, but no one that looked like...this girl, deserves to be treated the way it seems she was.

"I'll see to it that you get windows in the room."

Her soft face was replaced with a scowl, "I don't need favors Ky-"

I cut her off, "Shut up." I muttered.

Her jaw settled into a point, her fingers clenched and unclenched.

She didn't like being told around, and all she's ever know to control the force with; was anger

I should try not to piss her off a lot.

"I'll be back here in an hour. I'm going to send up a female...person to help you get ready." Why the fück am I so awkward?

Before she could say anything I turned on my feet and slammed the door.

What the hełl just happened?

CORA'S POV:

Moments after his bi-polar personality left- there was a knock at the door.

I sensed the presence of a female.

I frowned, I had never met another girl before...

I sensed an age with her as I answered the door, and a wrinkled woman stepped in.

She was pale, and she had dark hair hidden under her hooded figure.

Her face was wrinkled into an approachable kind of look, her eyes were wise looking.

I guessed she was one of the few, or only other girls aboard the ship.

She looked up at me, scanning over my body, as if she was evaluating me.

As if confirming something internally, she nodded, and walked in carrying a large bag.

She didn't say anything, not asking why I was doing what I was doing...that is if she even knew.

She motioned for me to sit down on a chair in front of the mirror.

I debated with myself, considering I didn't like to be told what to do.

I ended up sitting down before her, and she started her work fast.

As she combed through my long ink black hair, I began thinking.

This was supposed to be a formal event.

I assumed the person I would be swearing to would be Kylo Ren.

When I swore into the Sith as an apprentice, I was nine years old.

My hair had been tightly pulled up by someone in a mask, my face untouched, and I wore a black dress, it seemed much too big, and much too old.

The sleeves had to be pinned back, and the dress went far beyond my little legs.

It looked like something you'd wear if you were playing dress up with your mothers clothes...but twice the size.

Lord Goreum had me sworn in. His aged, white leathery hands had grasped mine as I repeated the words he'd told me.

I shook my head, reminding myself that after tonight...I was a First Order Lord.

I regained focus and watched as the blue woman curled my hair, the black locks cascaded down my back in tight ringlets.

Curiously, I continued to watch. I had never had my hair been "done" before.
I pulled it back when I trained, but never curled it.

When she had finished curling my hair, she brought over a bin and walked over to face me.

She grabbed a brush and a tin, as she reached for my face.

I leaned back and frowned, my hand threatening to use the force.

"Little girl, it's makeup, relax." She said, her voice came out aged and raspy.

Makeup. I had used it before, but I had never had it done for me.

I relaxed as I leaned forward in the chair awaiting what was to come.

"Close your eyes." She said.

Again, I do not like being ordered around.

I huffed and closed my eyes as I felt something smooth cover my closed eyes.

As she painted my face, I thought about my goodbye.

I had cut my connection with Lord Goreum.

Masters have strong connections with their apprentices, and I felt something. I think it was anger, but I don't know.

I was merely surviving. I knew Goreum would do the same.

Kylo had seen it, he had been there while I was breaking the connection.

I didn't even sense him, and it made me remember how powerful he was, but his actions would never let me forget.

The way he walk, and speaks...

"Open." She demanded.

I sighed and opened my eyes as she evaluated her handi-work.

When she seemed satisfied, she nodded.

Taking another brush she painted my lips a rose colour, and I frowned at how slimy it felt on my mouth.

"Look at me." She said again.

I swear, I might actually punch her.

I looked at her, but instead of doing something more with the makeup, she just looked at me.

Her pale green eyes looking into mine, as if she was searching for something that only my eyes would tell her.

"Your eyes..." She said as she looked into them, "they hold darkness."

Yeah, I know.

"And power...but also something that I haven't seen in a long time. Something I thought had died along with hope."

"Hope was never meant to exist."  I muttered.

She nodded, a small smile formed on her wrinkled lips, "That may be, girl, but everyone has something to strive for, everyone has their destinations."

I stared her down, "Everyone has the same fate. Hope isn't necessary because we all have the same fate."

She nodded for me to continue.

"The moment we are born, we begin to die, if you are as old as you say you are, then you should have learned this long ago." I said, trying to not snap at her, but I was feeling my patience drain.

Species of "people " these days can live hundreds of years, sometimes even thousands.

You can survive as long as you want and the game of death can be procrastinated for later, but no one was meant to live forever, we don't live in immortality...we just simply Survive.

She said nothing more, probably feeling as if it was pointless to argue with me.

It is.

"Turn around." She said gesturing to the mirror.

I had always given myself credit for being attractive.

But my dark lined smoky-tinted eyes, and my rose lips gave me a perfection feel of some sorts.

A pleased smile almost threatened to cross my face, and I felt myself staring at the quality of work she had done. Nothing was out of place.

It was...almost impressive.

I gave her a slight nod of recognition, and looked down to my scratchy black clothes.

"Take those off." She said gesturing to the strategy thin fabric of my clothes.

"I don-"

She yet again cut me off. She really is testing me.

I sighed and pulled off the papery clothes.

She walked to the wardrobe, and pulled out a large black gown-bag.

She treated the item of clothing like it was glass, and could shatter at any moment.

But when she pulled the gown out of the bag, I knew why.

"How..." I breathed, "how did you get this?"

She smiled mischievously, "I used to be one of Queen Padmé Amidala's handmaidens."

Authors note please read:
