Chapter 2: Lullabies...
Neverland sighed looking down at the little Canadian in her arms. "He must be a country..." She told herself as she walked back to her house. "He reminds me of France..."
Neverland soon arrived back at her home. She opened the door, carrying Canada upstairs. She set him down on one of the spare guest room's bed, covering him up with the covers as well as his little polar bear. "Bonsoir petite feuille d'érable ..." She mumbled into his ear before giving them both a soft kiss on the head.
She smiled, blowing out the candle before she walked out of the room and closed the door heading back to her room across the hall. She smiled as she walked over to her bed, taking off her pirate coat and hat and hanging them up. She took off her boots, placing them in a spot under her coat. Next came her belt and pants, which she threw into a pile with all her other dirty cloths. She then let out a long sigh, un-buttoning her white blouse, exposing her chest and threwing her blouse to the side.
She stared at herself in the mirror. Her breasts were D cups, and she was rather slim. She smiled, grabbing her night gown off the mirror and putting it on. "Zere..." she said stretching.
"It's been a long day..." She sighed, "I wonder what ze others are doing... It's been quite a while since Angrettere France or Tomato bastard came to visit... Hm...."
She got into bed, pulling the covers over her. "Maybe I should visit zhem... I haven't seen zhem since zhey were kids... I wonder how piano bastard and Miss Hungary are doing... I hope Italia and Holy Rome are doing alright..." She pulled the covers over her nose sighing before closing her eyes, drifting off into sleep.
She was awoken by the soft patter of feet outside her door. On instinct, she grabbed her gun, pointing it at the trespasser, but was relieved to see that it was only Canada. He was quivering, tears in his eyes. His eyes were frightened and broke down crying. Realizing what she had done, she dropped her gun and ran over to Canada scooping him up in her arms.
"chut calmer ma petite érable ... tout ira bien ... I didn't mean to scare you... I'm sorry..." She stroked the country's hair gently as he was crying into her shoulder frightened.
Canada sniffled, "but I have to ask, what are you doing up so late peu érable?"
Canada hiccuped, "I *hiccup* w-was scared... *hiccup* t-the storm scared me so I... *hiccup* c-came here..."
Neverland kissed him on top of his head, singing him a lullaby softly while rocking him back and forth.
"Little child, be not afraid
The rain pounds harsh against the glass
Like an unwanted stranger
There is no danger
I am here tonight
Little child
Be not afraid
Though thunder explodes
And lightning flash
Illuminates your tearstained face
I am here tonight
And someday you'll know
That nature is so
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land
And forests and sand
Makes the beautiful world that you see
In the morning
Little child
Be not afraid
The storm clouds mask your beloved moon
And its candlelight beams
Still keep pleasant dreams
I am here tonight
Little child
Be not afraid
The wind makes creatures of our trees
And the branches to hands
They're not real, understand
And I am here tonight
And someday you'll know
That nature is so
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land
And forest and sand
Makes the beautiful world that you see
In the morning
For you know, once even I
Was a little child
And I was afraid
But a gentle someone always came
To dry all my tears
Trade sweet sleep the fears
And to give a kiss goodnight
Well, now I am grown
And these years have shown
Rain's a part of how life goes
But it's dark and it's late
So I'll hold you and wait
'til your frightened eyes do close
And I hope that you'll know
That nature is so
This same rain that draws you near me
Falls on rivers and land
And forests and sand
Makes the beautiful world that you see
In the morning
But I'll still be here in the morning..." Her singing voice was beautiful. By the time she finished, the little nation had stopped crying and had fallen asleep. She smiled going back to her bed. She set Canada down onto the bed. Neverland laid right next to him, holding Canada close to her. She grabbed the sheets, tucking both of them in.
Thunder crackled from outside, signaling that the little boy had been right. There was a storm... But Canada had no need to be afraid... Neverland was there with him.
