CHAPTER ONE
"P-please." Jonny pleaded.
"P-please." mimicked Drake. One of his bullies at school.
"That's what you deserve." said Andrew. One of drakes followers.
Drake pushed Jonny's head inside the toilet that had not been flushed by the previous person that had used this toilet.
Jonny didn't have time to take a breath before he got pushed in so he drank some toilet water.
Drake pulled his head up.
Jonny coughed loudly spitting out water and gasping for air.
"Don't ever cross paths with Jessica again. You hear me!" Drake yelled in Jonny's ear.
Jonny squinted.
Please be over. He thought.
Drake pushed Jonny onto the bathroom floor and he left with Andrew.
The last time Jonny checked, Jessica is the one who came up to him, not the other way around.
He coughed up the rest of the water and fixed his hair.
He fixed his bow tie.
He looked around for his glasses but they were nowhere in sight.
Andrew had threw them somewhere, he was sure.
Jonny waited ten minutes before walking out of the bathroom and headed for his locker without his glasses.
He put his books in his locker and grabbed his backpack.
He walked back to the guys restroom cautiously and looking for his surroundings.
He unzipped his backpack and pulled out his contacts case.
He quickly but carefully took his contacts out, cleaned them, and put them on.
His eyes stung for about ten seconds.
He then pulled out an extra shirt and put it on.
It was his blue v-neck shirt.
He wasn't used to wearing these types of shirts for school but it was all he had.
Luckily his jeans weren't wet.
The boys decided not to bathe him in crap this time.
He checked himself one more time in the mirror before heading to his last period late. Again.
He felt awkward, and uncomfortable because he knew he most likely smelled like absolute crap.
He could hear the class laughing and messing around from where he was standing outside the classroom door.
He walked into class and fortunately for him there was a substitute replacing Mr. Johnson.
He walked into class and everyone went silent at the sight of him.
They stared.
"Are you...Jonny Castro?" asked the substitute.
Jonny nodded.
"Okay. Your teacher left me an excuse note for you. He said your usually late."
Jonny stood there embarrassed, Mr. Johnson probably knew why he was always late but never said anything. Jonny was okay with that because he didn't like people getting involved in his life, he had bad days, everyone did.
"Here." the substitute said handing him a small packet with two pages on it and a text book.
"Your teacher wants you to finish and turn this in at the end of the period. He said if you complete it you get full points. If you don't then you don't get any points." explained the substitute.
Jonny nodded in understanding.
He found an empty spot where no one was sitting around him, which was at the corner of class.
Suddenly two popular girls Rachel, and Jessica sat by him.
They tried to flirt and get him to let them copy.
Jonny knew that by just looking at Jessica, Drakes girlfriend, would get him beat.
If he responded to her, he would get beat.
If he would acknowledge or ignore Jessica he would get beat.
So he got up and pretended to sharpen his pencil.
He then walked over in one of the front seats where Andrea sat.
She was also a geek.
Andrea sighed before speaking.
"Whats wrong?" asked Jonny.
"C-can you not sit here? I don't want Jessica and Rachel to come near me again." Andrea said whispering the last part.
Jonny nodded in understanding.
Andrea offered a small smile and mouthed a thanks.
Jonny moved back to where he was originally sitting.
When he sat down, Jessica and Rachel were called over by some friends.
They got up and walked over to their "group."
They laughed and pointed to Andrea.
Andrea was actually not bad looking.
She had brown wavy short hair, dark brown eyes and she didn't dress weird.
She didn't wear glasses either.
She wore dresses all the time.
She wasn't super skinny.
She was chubby, but not fat.
Andrea stood up.
For a moment, Jonny thought that Andrea would walk over and punch Jessica in the face.
She didn't.
Instead, she walked over and sat by Jonny.
"I changed my mind," she said as she sat down. "You can sit by me."
Jonny smiled.
"No thanks." he said looking away and opening his text book.
She frowned.
"Is it because I told you to leave? I changed my mind. I want you to sit with me."
Jonny didn't answer.
He stopped and looked over at Andrea.
"No. I just changed my mind too." he said.
They sat silently and Jonny worked on his packet.
"I finished. Do you want to-" Andrea began.
"I'd rather do my own work." he said.
"Could we meet up in the janitors closet then?" Andrea said smirking.
Jonny nodded while still concentrating on his work.
Just because he was a "nerd" didn't mean he wasn't going to have a little fun.
