Pippa's pov

I woke up feeling like it was going to be a great day. I took a nice warm shower, washing away all of my grogginess. I changed into a pair of my yoga leggings and sports bra before starting my daily workout. Right in the middle of my set I got a call, thinking it was work I went to pick it up. The caller ID read "Stevey💕", I smiled and picked it up.

"Hey Steve! Good morning!" I chirped into the phone, he replied sounding a little nervous. "Good morning. I wanted to ask you if we could go on a date tonight?" a little surprised because he had been so distracted the past week, we hadn't really seen each other.

"Yea I would love to! What's the occasion?" he chuckled a bit and said "It's a surprise... I've been planning it for the whole week". I love surprises, I know Emmy despises them but she's not me.

"Well then, I'll see you tonight at...?" I could just picture him smiling as he said he would pick me up at 7pm. Today is going to be one incredibly fun day.

After I finished my daily set, I started making breakfast for the four of us. Emmy made her way to the washroom to take a shower, and after 10 minutes the boys walked in.

"Morning Pip!" Lin chirped and Daveed grumbled as he walked in. His mood immediately changed when he saw Emmy come out of the room completely dressed this time. The two were idiotically in love like me and Steve, I'm glad they worked things out.

The four of us ate our food and got ready for work as Lin and I packed the other two's lunch, they truly were like our children. Lin was staring at me weird today, like he was worried about something. I decided I would ask him about it in private though, so if it's personal he does not have unnecessary attention.

Emmy and Daveed slipped their shoes on and left soon after they ate their breakfast. I watched Lin as he wiped down the kitchen island, he looked so tense. Come to think of it, he has been tense for the past two weeks now. He seemed to avoid me sometimes as well but I'm sure that wasn't the case. He would never avoid me.

"Lin?" he looked up at me, "Yea Pip?" I think I'm just going to go for it, I want to help him if I can.

"Are you ok-" he cut me off "What? Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?" I raised my eyebrow as he sped through the words.

"Recently. I mean you just seem like you've been really stressed out or worried." he looked at me, his eyes softening. He let out a sigh before saying "I just have something going on with my family... I can't talk about it because it's sort of private." I nodded my head understanding.

"Ok but if you ever need to talk-" he said with a smile "I'll come straight to you."

I hugged him before going to get ready for work. What I missed was the frown on his face as I turned to go.

~~~~Time Skip to 6:30 pm~~~~

I started doing my makeup for the date after deciding on a natural look with some red lipstick. 

I walked into the living room in some black mom jeans and a white crop top with balloon sleeves. Emmy smirked when she looked at me, "Looks like someones gonna get Phil-laid" my face contorted with the cringy line.

"Yea it sounded better in my head..." she looked down in shame.

"Anyways, where do you think he's going to take you today? I mean it's been weeks since you've been on a date with him." I chuckled in response.

"Well I'm not sure, but I hope it's somewhere nice and romantic!" I heard Emmy mumble "Oh it'll be romantic alright" as I said that. Does she know something I don't? What am I thinking its Emmy, she never talks to Steven, she couldn't know anything.

"Oh I wanted to ask you about Lin." she looked up from her coffee mug with a raised eyebrow. "Sure...? What about him?" she responded before taking another sip.

"Well, he's been acting really weird lately. He's been a little distant with me too. I just don't understand why he's like that." she looked at me before letting out a sigh. She ran her fingers over her hair and then spoke "Listen he's probably going through something you wouldn't understand." I looked at her with shock, she's never talked to me like that before.

"Do you know something? Because you never speak to me like that." she shook her head, "No I don't, Daveed told me he's struggling a lot right now. But think about it Pip he lost both of his parents, both of us don't know what that feels like so maybe what he's going through now is related to that. Dave is closest to him so let him handle it, don't go up to Lin unless he wants to talk to you ok?" I smiled at her softly, understanding the situation.

About 15 minutes later the bell rang, I shrieked a bit, excited for the date. Before opening the door I looked at Emmy, she smiled and gave me a thumbs up. The open door revealed a handsome Steven in a white button down and black jeans, I heard Emmy mumble "He could have worn something better" I just sent a glare her way before leaving the house with him.

He drove us to a park, I was a little confused but when he took out a big picnic basket from his trunk, I let out a huge grin.

"What's with that cheeky grin you got going on?" he chuckled as he closed the trunk of the car. "Oh nothing I was just hoping for a picnic..." I pecked his lips before he led me to wherever.

We walked through the crowded New York park into a little secluded area that seemed to be restricted. I cocked my eyebrow in confusion, "Don't worry it's legal." We both chuckled at the way he said it.

We finally reached a big tree under which was a giant red and white blanket laid on the grass. Steve placed the basket down before sitting down himself. The dim light from the lamp post only provided limited vision, so I waved my hands before sitting down next to him.

He took out the bottle of Rosé- my favorite, I looked at him amused. He still doesn't know my coffee order. How does he remember my favorite wine? But I don't complain and just enjoy this moment.

The night flies by with glasses of wine and heaps of salad, not sure why he chose salad as the main meal but I didn't mind. As long as I was spending time with him.

Soon the sounds of children softened up and the chill breeze blew in our hair as we spoke softly to each other. He then looks at me, confidence oozing out of him. "Pippa, how about we lie down and look at the stars?" I chuckled and nodded even though stars were the last thing you could see in New York City.

We laid beside each other, fingers interlocked when suddenly the branches of the tree lit up with fairy lights spelling out "Will You Marry Me?" my eyes started to tear up as I lifted my body to rest on my elbows still looking at the tree.

"So?" he questioned me, I turned my head and saw him on his knee with a gorgeous diamond ring pressed between his fingers. I nodded letting out a happy laugh hugging him.

He pulled away to slide the ring on my finger and then kissed me deeply. This was everything, my heart is so full at this moment.

~~~~Time Skip to when they go home~~~~

I knocked on the door continuously for a minute before Emmy opened it. I hugged her tight, "Woah! What's up?" she chuckled, hugging back a little. I walked into the apartment to see Lin and Daveed sitting around the kitchen counter, I squealed incredibly happy.

"So you said yes huh?" Lin let out with a smile, I nodded. I continued to tell them how the night went and they all seemed happy for me, although Daveed and Emmy kept on glancing at Lin for some reason. But I didn't pay heed to it.

"Steven is such a romantic! Everything was just amazing. Like something out of a fantasy!" I grinned, "So perfect cause he didn't plan it" Emmy mumbled, I barely heard her so I just ignored the line.

*Buzz* *Buzz* *Buzz*

I looked towards the ringing phone, it was Vanessa. Lin immediately picked up, almost as if he knew she was going to call. "Yea... I'm on my way." he got up and apologized saying Vanessa needed him for something.

Seemed a bit odd to me because Lin looked as if he was in a rush to leave the apartment. I pushed the thought out of my head when I saw the ring on my finger. I am so happy.
