A/n: This chapter takes place 2 weeks after the last chapter.

Daveed's pov
I've been thinking about talking to Emmy. I know I broke up with her but it's not like I don't still love her. I want to be her friend again, I miss her...

When I asked Lin if I should ask her, he said I definitely should because we were friends before all of this and can be friends after.

I'm still hurt by what she did but I feel like I shouldn't have broken up with her...

Maybe it's time we talked about it cause I honestly miss her too much. But if she's not ready to showcase our relationship with our friends then I'm not sure how to feel.

Lin walked into our living room, his hair a mess as always. His phone was buzzing but he didn't look at it once. "Lin your phone.. its buzzing" he looked behind for a second and then went back to boiling coffee. "It's just Pippa"

Surprised he's ignoring her I ask, "Wait a minute you're ignoring Pippa? The girl you're basically in love with? Why?" He looked back at me and glared.

"First of all, I'm not ignoring her, just not picking up... Secondly, I'm not in love with her! Also she's been talking about Steven nonstop and I can't do it anymore" he let out in frustration.

"I said basically..." he glared at me and went back to making coffee.

I walked to the kitchen counter and watched him move. He was slouchy and slow, he never was like this before. "So... Is she texting you about Steven?" he nodded and sighed "All night. After every date they have, I'm informed... It's bullshit!"

The coffee was done, I watched as he took his mug out and started to pour. "Pour me a cup too-" he cut me off by taking the entire jug of coffee. At least I have his mug.

~~~~Time Skip to afternoon~~~~

Lin told me to inform the girls that we're going to have dinner at our place again. I was not ok with the fact that I had to see and talk to Emmy, I was hoping Pippa would open the door.

I walked to their place and knocked, I could've used the key we have but it feels weird opening the door without them knowing.

"Coming!" Her voice rings through, just hearing her voice made me want to run back to my apartment and crumble. But I also wanted to see her gorgeous brown eyes... I missed them, and her bouncy curls that seemed to curl onto my finger so perfectly. I loved her-

The door opened, cutting my train of thought, "Hey, you need something?" I shook my head trying to get a hold of myself. "Uhm yea... Lin said you guys should come over for dinner tonight" I looked down, "Oh ok. We'll be there" I nodded and turned to walk back but her smile flashed in my head. I couldn't help but think, I still love her.

I turn to face her and say something but she talks before I can get the words out "can we talk?". We chuckle knowing that we both were about to speak at the same time.

"Sure" I smile, she looks down at her fidgeting fingers and then looks back up before saying "I'm sorry, I should've told her... I still don't know why I didn't tell her but it's not because I'm embarrassed or don't... love you" that's the first time she said that she loved me.

"Look I'm sorry too, I think I might have overreacted. I shouldn't have broken up with you, it was stupid of me." I felt like a weight was taken off of me.

"You don't have to be sorry, I was being inconsiderate and you had a response anyone would've had" why did she have to be so nice to me?

"But I have to Em, I made it hard for both of us and we both know that." she nodded as I said, "I've been thinking..." I started.

"Yea...?" I looked into her eyes, this was pretty important. "Our relationship, it was... and still is, uhm... the most meaningful thing that has ever happened to me. And I would be hella crazy to not want to try this again." I watched her face.

"You wanna try this-" she gestured to both of us, "again?" a hopeful glint in her eyes.

Pippa's POV
I just finished teaching a class before I had to go and guard the front desk. I watched cars pass the street, people walk past the door, many in a rush. I was getting a bit bored, so I started going through some lesson plans.

The doorbell jingled as people entered the orphanage. When I looked up, I was shocked to see Lin and Vanessa. Was she planning something for that poor daughter of hers? But before I could say much another woman walked up behind them, they seemed to be in conversation.

I decided to call them over, "Lin! Vanessa! Hey, what are you guys doing here?" They smiled and walked towards the front desk. "Hey Pip, I'm just here because of Nessa and Clem." he said gesturing towards Vanessa and the woman who had walked in behind them.

"Clem? Where is she?" I asked, confused because I couldn't see a child with them. What would Vanessa want to do here? Other than giving up her kid for adoption? No... why would she do that? Maybe she's trying to scare him into paying for child support.

"Uhm... Right here?" he pointed to that woman next to them. The woman had golden brown curls that cascaded down her shoulders, she had warm caramel skin complimented with her green eyes. Out of all things Clem was a grown woman, I can't understand how that's possible because she had to pick her from school... unless she works there facepalm I can't believe myself right now.

"I'm sorry," I shook my head, "Hi I'm Pippa, Lin's neighbour" Clem looked at me and smiled "I'm Clemintine or Clem, as these two call me" she chuckles, "I'm Van's girlfriend." she grinned.

Ohh well now this makes sense, I can't believe I doubted Vanessa. I feel so dumb and stupid.

"Oh that's cool. So you guys here to see Lin's friends?" I smirked at him, he rolled his eyes and laughed. "Ha ha I get it, cause I come here so often to play with them?" he grinned. I nodded giggling a bit at the face he was making.

"But yea I wanted to just introduce them cause the kids have become a big part of my life and I think Nessa and Clem should know." I agreed with them as I handed the guest book to them. They signed their names and walked in.

I wish I could walk in with them but I had stupid front desk duty, at least now I have time to think about how I reacted when I thought Vanessa came back for Lin.
