A/n: It's been a week since the last chapter.

Pippa's POV
"Do we have to go? Being around Daveed now is just awkward and painful." I shook my head "Yes you have to come. Lin wants us to come for dinner and Steven will come in 30 minutes" Lin told me that these two are both hurting and nothing will help unless they start seeing each other again. I hope it works cause we couldn't do what we normally did before and I missed that, also I'm nervous as to how Emmy and Daveed will act around each other.

I was dressed in a pair of black leggings and a flowy white top, Emmy was in a pair of high-waisted black jeans and a white, skin-tight top. We were matching but it doesn't matter, we're both too lazy to change again.

"Great Steven is coming... cause that will make me feel better," she said sarcastically, I rolled my eyes as we walked over to their apartment.

I knocked on the door expecting one of the boys to open the door, but instead, it was a woman. Who is she? Why is she in their apartment? Did they move out and not tell us? Are they pranking us-

"Hi! Lin said you guys would come" she smiled and I swear she almost blinded me with her white teeth. Again... who is she...?

She let us in and Lin came out of his room, he definitely just had a shower, with his wet hair and slightly brighter skin from this morning. "Hey Pip and Em.." after he said that he proceeded to look at his phone.

All three of us fake coughed to get his attention, he looked up and then realized he forgot to introduce us.

"Oops... sorry. Ok this is Vanessa, she's very important to me" he grinned as he looked at her, are those two dating...?

"This is Emmy and this is... this is Pippa.." he looked down, she looked at him with a sad smile. Why did he introduce me like that? I have so many questions.

"Right Lin, before I forget, Steven is coming too!" I grin, "That's great..." he smiled weakly.

~~~~An hour later~~~~

Vanessa's POV
This was honestly pretty crazy for me, how was Lin even handling this? He was right though, she's incredibly pretty.

Emmy walked towards me and asked me if we could talk, I nodded and we headed to Lin's room. "So... what did you want to talk about?" She looked a little nervous.

"Ok uhm quick question, if you're in a relationship and then because one person makes a mistake and the other needs a break. How long do you have to wait?" I was stunned by the speed she went at, but for some reason, I understood what she said.

"Well... if the person needs a break, that person means it. Breaks are not the same as a break-up. So I wouldn't let my hopes drop too low. But sooner or later, the person who made the mistake needs to apologize properly" she nodded, I knew this was for her and not some hypothetical situation. My only question is why did she trust me enough to ask me? Maybe she needed an uninvolved third party.

"Uhm... Thank you. My... Friend, yea friend will appreciate that." I smiled sympathetically as she walked away with a nervous posture. I would know I'm a lawyer, I can make out when a person is nervous.

"Well, that was... something..." I mumbled to myself before walking out of his room. I noticed an unfamiliar face, was this the guy Lin was talking about?

"Hey Vanessa! Come here!" Daveed called out, I walked over there. "Hey what's up?" I smile at him, "This is Steven.. Ya know Pippa's boyfriend" he rubbed his neck.

He obviously knew about the Lin thing, "Hi... I'm Vanessa" I introduced myself.

Steven looked like he was going to respond when Lin called out that dinner was ready. We walked over to the table to see the plated food, Lin made the food we used to make together when our parents worked really late. Arroz con habichuelas, I haven't eaten this in ages.

Pippa's POV
We all take a seat at the dining table and get ready to eat. "You didn't..." Vanessa looked at him with a childish grin, "Ohh, I did" he chuckled. Is it just me? Or do they have soo much sexual tension???? I'm not sure why but I rolled my eyes in response to their conversation.

~~~~After dinner~~~~

Dinner was really good and surprisingly everyone got along as well as they could. Daveed and Emmy were being civil for the sake of Vanessa. Speaking of Vanessa, she and Lin are very close... even though they used to be best friends, it's weird to me.

These stupid thoughts made me spill my ice cream over my lap. I excused myself so I could go and clean my soaked leggings. I took a rag from one of the drawers and soaked it in warm water before gently cleaning the milky liquid off.

After the rag was soaked up, I ran it under the sink, squeezing the excess out. I repeated the process until my leggings looked decent enough to walk back out. I left the rag flat on the counter so it could dry and left the washroom, switching the lights off on the way out.

When I was back in the living room, I watched Lin hug and kiss (on the cheek) Vanessa goodbye. "Byee, tell Clem to clear up that busy schedule, I barely see her, I miss that little rascal" he chuckled, "Sure, but I have a feeling she's gonna have some school work to do" she smiled back.

After one last hug she left, I walked over to Steven "Why did she leave?" I asked, "She had to pick someone up from school, and some other stuff I guess.".

"Isn't school hours over? I mean it's like 9:30." I was confused, this didn't seem right. "I'm guessing this is some school function or some shit? I dont know." School function...? Why wasn't Vanessa there to watch her kid then? Maybe she isn't as good as I thought she was.

Vanessa... why would she come back into Lin's life if not for the kid? Child support? No... I don't think so... right?
