Daveed's pov
I woke up and walked out of my room to see a sad-eyed Lin cleaning the kitchen counter. We both were sad for similar reasons, I was sad cause Emmy was ignoring me and him... Well, you know why he's sad.

"Morning Daveed..." he spoke, there was none of the usual cheerfulness. "Morning Lin, did you sleep well?" he looked at me and responded with a monotonous "Sure".

I knew he was lying there was no twinkle in his eye anymore, but he didn't stop his daily routine. He still made me lunch which made me feel bad, Imma buy him some cookies on the way home.

I dressed up and tied up my shoes ready to leave, but before that, I hugged Lin knowing he needed it. I felt him melt into the hug letting out a heavy sigh, I pulled away "Have a nice day..." I smiled at him and walked away. I didn't expect him to reply but I heard him whisper "I'll try..." under his breath.

I closed the door and walked over to Emmy who was waiting for the elevator. "Morning!" I smiled at her, she gave me a half-smile and looked away saying absolutely nothing. This was confusing and painful, I just wanted to speak to her, I- I just wanted her to speak to me... what's there to lose? I mean I can ask her why she's ignoring me and if she still won't talk to me then I guess I've lost her.

"Why are you ignoring me, Emmy?" She looked at me a little surprised and then looked down, "I'm not ignoring you..." bullshit! She didn't talk to me once last night, it was like she was trying to get rid of me. "Well I beg to differ" she looked up when she heard my tone, "I just want to know why... just tell me why and you can forever ignore me" she sighed and turned to face me.

"Ok well, you came to the cafe I work at yesterday, I saw you with a pretty woman and I didn't like it.", I was speechless, I mean she basically said she was jealous. "I- she is nothing to me, she's my ex. She tried to win me back but that would never happen, she didn't trust me. She accused me of things I didn't do so we broke up." By now the elevator had arrived and we walked in.

"Oh... I'm sorry I thought she was your girlfriend and-" I cut her off "Emmy... do- Uhm... do you like me?" She looks at me with wide eyes and flushed cheeks.

"I- No... I- oh fuck it, yes I do. And I understand if you-" if I just had the patience to listen to the end of that sentence, but I cut her off again "I like you too...".

She was confused for a second but then she grinned, "Y-you like me too?" I nodded in reply. She walked closer to me "Can I-" the elevator reached the ground floor and we had to leave. We walked out flustered but I was just a little bit curious as to what she was gonna ask me.

She waved goodbye and left, I smiled looking at the wet concrete, she liked me back!

I got in my car and made my way to work, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. It's only been a few days since we moved but I really like her and the fact that she liked me back made me get a little bit dizzy.

I walked into my office with an unusual grin, people weren't used to seeing me smile this much at work. They all looked at me confused, I just ignored them and walked to my desk.

Just as I was about to start on a spreadsheet Suzanne walked over and started to talk to me. To say the least? She's someone you would want to stay away from. "Hey, Daveed... what's got you all smiley?" She asked with a creepy grin, "Oh well, I just found out the girl I like, likes me back!" Now that I think of it I regret telling her this information.

Her face scrunched up but she looked a bit hopeful, "Oh really? Who is this mystery girl?" Well, I'm smart enough to know never to tell her who Emmy was. "Someone who isn't at my table right now," I said slightly annoyed, she gasped and walked away but before she left I saw that she was hurt. Honestly? I didn't care.

Great way to start the day right? The day went by pretty slow which was painful, I wanted to see Emmy. I made my way to my car and thought it would be a great idea to pick Emmy up from the cafe, so I call her and tell her I'm on my way.

"Hey, Daveed!" She smiled and hugged me, "Hey Em!" I saw her blush when I called her that, now I know what to call her to make her look all cute and flushed.

She carried her bag to the car and got in, I closed the door and made it over to my seat smiling at her. "So why did you come to pick me up? Not that I don't like it..." I chuckled and replied "Well I'm curious as to what you were gonna ask me. I mean it's been eating my head all day." I smiled.

"Oh... well I wanted to ask you... if I could... uhm if I could kiss you?" She squeaked the last few words out which I thought was adorable. "I would love that..." I mumbled just loud enough for her to hear me. She was smiled as she leaned in a bit and so did I, the moment our lips connected, my mind went blank I couldn't think of a single thing except for the feeling of her lips on mine. This feeling was heavenly.

We pulled away slowly and breathlessly, I slowly opened my eyes to see her looking at me with a cute little grin. "So... what does this mean?" I asked really eager to be her boyfriend. "I- I wanna be with you... like be y-your girlfriend.." she whispered, I let out a weird sound letting her know I was on the same page.

"Same here..."

~~~~1 month later~~~~

Lin wasn't ok, it only got worse for him. Once we went to hang out with the girls and Steven came over and those two were all over each other, safe to say that was definitely the reason Lin got sick the next day. He's been visiting the orphanage a lot more, Jonah was getting better. Lin started crying when Jonah said Hi to him for the first time, he's only said that till now but Lin was incredibly proud.

Emmy and I are going strong, Lin knows about us cause she stays over a lot, but Pippa doesn't know yet. I don't exactly know why Em isn't telling Pippa yet but I'm not gonna force her.

I swear I saw Lin start writing again, it wasn't a bad thing it was more like a sign that something has been on his mind too much. Usually after about 3 songs he gets a lot better, I'm only hoping its gonna stay like that. When I asked him if he was ok and if he wanted to talk about the Pippa thing, he denied it saying that what happened with Pippa didn't hurt him too much. He denied that he was writing, so I believed him.

I woke up to the feeling of Emmy sleeping on my chest, I've grown very fond of these moments. Both Emmy and I feel terrible for Lin but he doesn't let us help him, so I'm giving him space with this one for a while.

We took our time getting up cause it wasn't a workday for either of us.

"Lin? You there?" Em called out into the empty apartment, it was weird, he's usually always home at this time.

I notice something on the fridge as Emmy takes a seat at the kitchen island.

Hey Daveed,
I'm out, I needed some air so I just went out don't worry about me.

Siempre, Lin.

"What does it say?" I sighed and passed the note to Emmy so she could read it too. I open the fridge door and start to take some eggs and bacon out.

"Uhm Dav... You might wanna see this..." I looked back at her in confusion. "What do you mean?".

"From the looks of it? They look just like lyrics", I raised an eyebrow and walked closer to her to make sure it wasn't what I thought it was.

I took the paper and examined the text on the back of it.

I used to see in black and white
But when I met you I realized I was color blind

I started seeing pink and green and blue
There's beauty in absolutely everything you do...

The rest of this song was torn off, but I knew this was Lins work... He lied to me, why wouldn't he just talk to me about it? I cant expect too much from him though, this is how he copes. The last time he wrote songs was when his parents were getting a divorce, it's wasn't easy for him.

Unknowingly, Pippa destroyed him.
