I have to go pick up Cub from school, but first I need to clean up and try to come up with a good lie as to why I cut my hair. I honestly should just tell her that I needed change. It would be the easiest to tell her. I do need change, just not what she might think.

When I get to the school, Bridget jumps into the car and starts to sing along with radio almost immediately.

When she looks at me, she realizes my haircut.

"Why did you cut your hair? It was soooo pretty!" She gushes.

"I needed a change, my Little Cub. I'm tired of everything being the same all of the time."

"Oh. Okay." She passes for a minute then continues mumbling the words to the song.

When we get home, I remember that I left the scissors out and rush to get them away before Bridget sees them.

When she gets to the living room, she asks      "Is mommy okay?"

"Of course she is, sweetie. She's just tired." I lie once more to one of the people I never should have to.

"Just go start on your homework please."

Once she is set down at the table, I start dinner. 

I put some hot dogs on a baking sheet and put them in the oven, along with some french fries.

After that's done,  I get a plate of animal crackers made for Cub.

When I set the plate down in front of her, she asks "Can we invite over Zachy?"

"Of course we can, baby!" Says Maria from the doorway. "We will always welcome Josephine's boyfriends here."

Bridget looks to me, with wide eyes. She starts squealing. " HOW COME YOU DIDN'T TELL MEEEEEE? I SHIP IT SOOOO MUCH!!!! YES YES YEESSSSSSS!!!" She jumps up and starts running to tackle me.

Just at that moment, her father walks in the front door. "Hello, Rick." Says Maria.

"Nice of you to actually join us for dinner today." She says snarkily.

I look down at Cub and whisper "let's go get Zachy, then, so he can join us." And I wink at her.

                  •Zechariah's Point of View•

I look out the window and see Joey and Bridget walking towards my house, so I run for the shower, to ensure that I am smelling okay.

When I get out, I hear my mom talking to them down stairs. Then I hear her coming up the stairs, I am assuming, to come get me.

I really quickly throw on a P!ATD shirt and some jeans. Just as she knocks, I'm throwing open the door.

"Tell her I'll be down in a few more minutes." I plead.

She looks at my room and nods. "You need to clean this up before you go."

I look around the room and understand what she means.

I have books thrown in one corner of my room, a haphazard stack of Vinyls in another and pile of clothes in the center, with my bed left unmade.

I scramble to put my books and Vinyls on my shelf. About halfway, I trip, and I'm almost positive that the girls could hear it downstairs, and I start to blush.

When I finish, I start throwing my dirty clothes  into the hamper in my closet. I quickly fold my bed up and tuck in then hanging part of the blanket.

I run down the stairs and see the girls sitting on the couch with my mom, watching Shadowhunters. I chuckle when I hear my mom say "Alec is more than a boy toy to Magnus, Camille. I will fight youuuu!!!"

When the girls hear me, they turn around.

"Are you ready?" Joey asks me.

"Yes." I reply but as I try to go, my mom pulls something out from under her blanket and throws it at me.

I catch it and then look at my mother, my face turning red. She simply shrugs and says "use protection."

Joey looks at me and her eyes widen as she goes to cover Bridget's.

I almost die right then and there.
