Car Date At Clementine's Residence
"What's going on?" I said, to Blade's back. He had put me down and was standing in front of me, blocking me.
"It's okay, I won't let them hurt you." He moved forward a little to face the oncoming crowd.
His words warmed my heart, until I realized what they meant. "Why would they hurt me?" I moved to get out from behind him. I figured if these people could hurt me, they could hurt him too. I wasn't about to let that happen. He used his arm to block me.
"They don't know any better. Some of them don't know what they're doing. I'm not sure what they'll try to do." He watched the people walking towards us. They were screaming, crying, and laughing.
The man with the raspy voice faced Blade. "I am going to distract them, you guys run. I'll meet you guys out there if I can, but don't wait up."
Blade looked horrified. "No way, this about getting you out of here."
The man rolled his eyes. "Don't be stupid. I intend on getting out of here man. There's no chance of that happening if we all three get caught though."
"At least take these, just in case. "Blade reached into his pocket and tossed his keys to the other guy.
"Thanks dude." The man with the raspy voice said, smiling, "Now get out of here."
Blade eyed the crowd nervously and threw me back onto his back. I held on as tight as possible and he ran out the door. "Where'd you park?"
"My car is right beside yours." I yelled over the rushing wind. His speed made it hard to hang on. He must've been in track. When we reached the gate, he put me down.
"I'll go up first, when you reach the top, I want you to jump. I'll be at the bottom to catch you." I nodded in agreement. He wasted no time; he reached the top with record speed. I worried about how he would get down safely, but he didn't seem concerned. I watched in amazement as he jumped from tree to tree, each time bringing himself a little lower looking superhuman. I had climbed halfway up the gate when he reached the top, so it didn't take long for me to get there. I was at the peak, looking down. I hesitated. It was terrifying to think my life was in his hands. For me to jump meant I trusted him. I made the leap.
I felt his strong arms around me. I smiled, he caught me.
"I didn't think you were going to do it." He said, smirking.
"I trust you." I said. It felt strange to hear the words come out of my mouth, but there they were.
"You do, do you?" He was still holding me.
I rolled my eyes. "You must like holding me." I smiled as I said it.
"Is that your way of asking me to put you down?" He whispered in my ear.
"I don't know, my legs are pretty tired." I stretched them out in his arms. He laughed, putting me down gently, then turned away.
"Where's Nikki?" He asked. I felt my heart sink.
"I'll explain later. She wanted to be here." I began fidgeting with my hoodie and sweatpants, suddenly self-conscious.
"Okay." He peeked through the fence, looking for his partner in crime.
I came up behind him. "He'll be okay." He kept facing the building. I reached out and took his hand. He stiffened up for a moment and then tightened his grip without looking at me.
Then we heard sirens coming up the drive. "Can I see your keys." I tossed them to him. He unlocked the doors and opened one in the back, motioning for me to come. "Lay across the floor." I squinted at him a moment, then heard the sirens and laid down. He crawled on top of me.
My eyes grew wide, "What are you doing." I tried to hide my shaking hands.
"I thought you trusted me." He smirked.
I glared at him, "I'm seriously questioning that now."
I felt him laugh. "This is the safest position for us to be in." He looked into my eyes, his expression suddenly serious. I wanted to say something, but I couldn't think with those eyes on me. I let my hand trace the shape of his face. He looked at me, questioningly. I could feel his muscular stomach lightly touching mine. I wanted to see it again. What's gotten into you?! I yelled at myself.
"What?" He moved a piece of hair from my face.
I shook my head, "Nothing." I said, not making eye contact.
"I like being this close to you." He whispered.
"You do?" Don't make eye contact, don't make eye contact.
"Yeah." He kept his voice low. "I love how you don't know how gorgeous you really are."
"You're sucking up for some reason, tell me why." I pointed at him, accusingly.
"That's exactly my point, you don't believe me." He shook his head.
"Why are you saying this? Nikki...." I kept her face in my mind the best I could.
"Isn't with me." He said, struggling. "We haven't even kissed, or went on a date, or anything. It's been strictly platonic."
"It's getting really warm in here." I said, smiling. I began pulling my hoodie over my head, feigning that I couldn't get it off myself. "Do you mind?" I looked up at him.
"Umm, no." He squinted at me. He lifted the hoodie carefully over my head. His eyes widened when he saw my silk pajama top underneath. I began removing my sweatpants.
His eyes were wide, "Amaya, what are you...?" His eyes trailed down me, shocked. I place my arms around the back of his neck, bringing his lips to mine. I kiss him. He hesitates, then kisses me back. My hands make their way to his shirt, pulling up on it. He lets me take it off. I move his hand down my lower back. He lifts himself up, looking at me through ginormous eyes.
"What? What's wrong?" I asked, confused.
"You said you haven't done this before; you're first experience shouldn't be in the back of a car." His eyes settle on mine.
"I have no doubt I'll enjoy myself." I reach back up to him, bringing him back to me. I didn't care that we weren't in the most romantic place. I wanted to bring myself as close to him as I possibly could.
He lifted my shirt a little, just enough to place his hands on the bare skin of my waste. "Think about it." He kissed me one last time then sat on the seat.
I stared at him, confused. "I don't get it. I thought you wanted that." I sat on the seat beside him. He was looking out the window.
When he noticed no one was there he moved into me. "I do. Not like this though." He looked at his hands. "I want you to know me before you decide whether I'm worth it or not. Besides, you've been so worried about Nikki."
"Tell me what I need to know then. I want to know you." He watched me speak, looking anxious. "As far as Nikki, I learned today just how strong she is. She can handle it."
"Okay, tonight. I think I'd do better once I have a drink." He laughed. I could tell he was nervous to talk about it, so I decided I could wait.
"Promise?" I held out my pinky.
He chuckled. "I don't know, pink promises are a huge commitment." He held out his pinky, "I promise."
I laid back down on the floor. "We shouldn't risk giving away our position."
"You sure that's a good idea?" He smirked.
"What, afraid you won't be able to restrain yourself?" I teased.
"I seem to recall you kissing me." He stayed on the seat.
"I seem to recall you kissing back." I pointed at him as I said it.
"Okay, fair point. But I got to kiss you so who's the real winner?" He smiled down on me.
"I like this game." I was flirting. "Aren't you going to come hide?" I thought I'd be embarrassed or uncomfortable by his rejection, but I wasn't. I was happy. For the first time in my life, I could see a future. I worried that what he would tell me tonight could change everything, but for now I would just be happy.
"Aren't you going to put the rest of your clothes back on?" He picked up my hoodie and sweatpants and went to hand them to me.
I shook my head. "I'm good. Don't you know how comfortable silk is?"
"You expect me to get on top of you, wearing that and behave?" His mouth gaped.
"You're a big boy." I played.
"You're trouble." He said, looking for his shirt.
I saw it and hid it underneath me. "Oh, I know." He saw his shirt peek out from behind my back.
"You just remember, I know where you live." He said, smiling as he came down. He laid down on top of me.
I rolled my eyes. "I have a lock. You're not as scary as you think you are." I admired his eyes for a moment then my eyes moved down his abs.
He was staring at my attire. "I can't even think."
"Why?" I feigned innocence. I wrapped my legs around him. His eyes enlarged to the size of soccerballs. He had no choice but to come closer to me. He was just inches away.
"That outfit just isn't fair." He was looking into my eyes.
"Oh yeah?" I was lost in his eyes. "What are you going to do about it?"
We jumped up when we heard pounding on the window. "Smasher!" Blade yelled, blocking me with his body.
