windows to the soul

dangling body . opened hospital window . worried eyes . in his own , dark world . a breathing figure . still sleeping . beeping monitor . cold white floor . tears-stained face .

               he found me again, this time. his eyes trailed upon me, never letting me out of his sight. i was the main focus of his eyes, but his mind was filled with thoughts. thoughts that i couldn't get a hold of. his lingering gaze settled upon me with intensity.

               i was an escape.

               and if he needed that much as of the time being, nothing else matters.
