Mirror
Look to the gentle creases of your mothers face
and think of them in the fine veins of an autumn leaf
Close your eyes, and listen;
to the whispered sighs of lovers carried on the wind
Compare the flash of faraway lightning
to the capillaries in the eyes of fleeting glances
Gaze up at the careful pinpricks of light in the sky
See them in scattered cinnamon freckles on a soft body
Carefully threaded double helix ribbons
Woven through you into strings of stars
The universe is your looking glass
Try to grasp your reflection
